Dire, Dire Docks but it's a bit slower

- A slower version of Dire, Dire Docks (Jolly Roger Bay) I made using a drumless version of the song ( • Dire Dire Docks but th... ) as a base. I think it sounds pretty good, so I decided to upload it here. I also decided to extend it to last for 30 minutes.
From "kill Bowser in his sleep" to "hug Bowser in his sleep"
I hugged my girlfriend in her sleep during Season of Winter
I don't know why, but changing the pitch of the music is always very entertaining to my ears. Also, if you don't want all the audio gabbledegook you get from stretching/modulating an MP3 (or even a lossless format like WAV or FLAC), you could always manually edit the game data to have it play slower, and lower pitches by a certain amount, and play it in a compatible MIDI player. Just something to think about for the future :)
Do it
when you pitch down you get all sorts of little artifacts in the music that wasn't already there which adds character.
you can imagine a digital recording of 1 second as 1000 slices (they would be a millisecond each) of digital information. If you spread that 1 second into a 5 second gap (when you pitch down you really are just stretching the song/playing it slower), all of a sudden you only have 200 slices per second, but the playback system still operates at 1000 slices/second (this mechanism is controlled by the thing doing the repitching instead of the playback, but the idea is the same), and so those 200 slices are sort of like key frames and it has no data between so it sort of has to guess/smear/invent audio frames between them that make it the best it can (depending on its algorithm).
These numbers are wrong - but the idea is the same. Computer audio is not real analog information and so there is a granularity level in which you violate by stretching it and something has to be filled into the empty spaces.
very calming and soothing…
Ok, I'll hear you out.

As a person who owns mario 64, this is kind of terrifying
Guys, whoever is curious, quit listening to music permanently. Even try it temporarily. You'll see the benefits instantly.
This comment is the equivalent of telling people to stop watching tv to feel better on a movie review site
