McGonagall didn’t actually defeat the 2 death eaters, it was actually Snape that reflected the spells onto the 2 death eaters and stole their wands then left..
@@EatYourVegs I think you're a kind of wrong. Wasn't it Snapes intention to go Voldemort so he can help Harry in sort strange way. In they book is mentioned that he already tried to disarm or even kill deatheaters, so I think he has left on purpose. The others only helped him. But I can be wrong...
Are we forgetting that Flitwick defeated Dolohov in combat? Flitwick was said to be a dueling master. Also, I feel that McGonagall deserves to be higher on the list.
Snape was on the list (a Slytherin) Flitwick was on the list (a Ravenclaw) McGonagall was on the list (a Gryffindor) rip Hufflepuff _Proffesor Sprout has left the chat_
Thalmor Sorcerer boi Im a Hufflepuff. Im pretty sure the main traits are loyal, trustworthy and hardworking. That’s not “nerd”. Thats Ravenclaw. Hufflepuffs are known to be the kind house to most people (even though no house is considered “kind”) and Ravenclaw: Creativity, *wit* and literally *prizes learning* Tell me which house has the most nerds?
they weren't particularly powerful in the books, as Harry himself said, a lot of what he did was pure luck (although it may have also been related to the prophecy but he had no way of knowing that) as for Ron and Hermione, sure they probably became pretty accomplished later in life (especially Hermione), but from what we know in Canon, they really don't belong on the list.
Snape and that’s done. He kept Voldemort out of his mind to the extent he didn’t give anything away even when he was dying. Voldemort ultimately kills him because he’s trying to find out who has the wand, nothing more. Also, Snape kept the curse at bay that was killing Dumbledore. Finally, he is the only wizard shown to create his own fatal curse, but also to be able to save someone from it.
None of that shows he is the most powerful wizard. Dumbledore, grindelwald and voldemort are still far far above his league in pretty much every aspect of magic, excluding maybe potions and occlumency.
@@SouthpawsRule217 so the fact Voldemort made him his most trusted agent?? That Dumbledore trusted him as the only one who could be a double agent?? I think you’ve missed out on a lot of details. Don’t just watch the films.
@@AngelicusImmortus he was in the agent role because of his intellect and occlumency. He isnt even close to the likes of dumbledore or voldemort in terms of power, especially considering both have one shotted snape before. Hell snape almost lost to mcgonagall in about 10 seconds, while voldemort wrecked mcgonagall, kingsley and slughorn at once and dumbledore beat a prime, elder wand wielding grindelwald in a duel. Not even close really, its an honour for snape to even be mentioned in the same sentence with dumbledore and voldemort.
How about reading a book and understand the true power of Severus Snape? He fought Minerva, with slightly better skills just because he didn't want her hurt. And when two more teachers came, he fought 3 of them until he escaped. And yes, his devotion to dark arts were insane. But he stopped because of Lily's death.
Snape chose his fate when he called Lily a mudblood. He was overly obsessive of her and cared nothing for a child dying do long as Lily survived. He hanged out with his death eater friends. Just with his interactions with Lily and he's a bad person.
Not in the books- Luna and Harry both defeat the Carrows(although McGonagall casts the Imperius Curse on Amycus as he is waking up from being unconscious thanks to Harry's Cruciatus curse) and McGonagall ensures that they don't escape from Ravenclaw Tower by tying them up and trapping them in a floating net in the Ravenclaw common room.
I personally think that u should’ve also added Salazar Slytherin, Merlin, Godric Gryffindor, Aberforth Dumbledore, Nicolas Flamel and Harry. Yes, Harry got help in the most of the things that he has done and yes there’s some people who is stronger than him. But killing a basilisk, defending yourself from hundreds of dementors with a patronus in that age, dueling Voldemort like 4 times (even though it was Priori Incantatem he still achieved to move that round-shaped thing to Voldemort). He might have gotten help but he achieved to use his talents in the right way with his courage. He did things that even adult wizard could not do in such a young age. He achieved to keep his love straight. Sometimes everthing is not power but I think some of us failed to understand that. Harry is one of the strongest wizards in the history. I don’t think any of the wizards in Harry’s age would survive if they were put in the same room as Voldemort with nothing but a wand and no help. Don’t be bloody silly
if u look closely in the battle between Mcgonagall and Snape in the great hall, you notice its actually the karrows casting spells at mcgonagall and snape casting spells to block the karrows spells from hitting mcgonagall. this proves the resoect snape has for mcgonagall
@gamelvr1 i agree, maybe killing your parents is bad,but really driving your parents nuts, beyond the ability to live a normal life,is like to steal a life from themselves, making them kinda zombies.i meant by that this:cause a debilitating physical harm is easy conpared to cause such mental harm.
@Tom Cross Calm down you Bellatrix husband! You sound ridiculous saying all that like if you knew her or something. The bitch was killed by Ginnys mother so easily, guess she was not that stronger at the end.
To everyone wondering why Harry's not included, please take a look at this. Harry is a plot device. Yes, he's brave, has immense willpower and does grow into a powerful wizard and Auror, but putting him on the same level as the guys in this video while he's in school is just ridiculous. He's just not that developed yet There are a few instances where we can judge his actual combat prowess compared to adult wizards End of Half-Blood Prince, when Snape is escaping and Harry catches up to him. He has his ass completely handed to him, and we know Snape wasn't trying to harm him, just get him off their back. At the same time, Harry was going all out and still achieved nothing. When duelling Bellatrix(book 5, end) and she kept laughing and negating his attacks. Only when he gathers all his rage does he manage to actually hit her with a Crucio curse, and it just knocks her down and causes a scream, after whch she escapes. It achieves nowhere close to the full effect it's supposed to. When he calls Lupin a coward and they both go for their wands(book 7 I think? ) Lupin has the wand out and knocks Harry down before his hand even reaches his pocket, and is they gone before Harry manages to stand up and come to his senses. Even Mundungus Fletcher, who is generally looked down upon and presented as a coward and petty criminal, manages to pull out his wand, hex Harry, knock him back and Apparate that time when Harry catches him stealing and tries to manhandle him. We can equivalate this to the real world. Harry is 17. A 17 year old can be very tough/well trained and bloody the noses of some adults in a fight. However that 17 y/o will never be able to beat a grown man that is equally tough and just as much a a born fighter, but is also much stronger, more skilled, more experienced and with more training. It's the same thing. Harry has potential and is pretty good for his age. He may be able to handle some nameless run of the mill Death Eaters every now and then, but we can't put him on par in terms of combat ability with renowned and powerful combatants that have been duelling people before Harry was born, and certain long before he even suspected wizards exist. He's just not there yet.
snape is a special caseyes he was verrryyyyy gifted in school but he also further porved himself after school as he grew to his full power which harry didn't get the chance to do in the books no one is saying harry couldn't makeit on the list if he was shown many years later as he has developed more they are saying from the point the books ended he wasn't at a point yet where he was more powerful then these 10
harry did not defeat Voldemort because he was more powerful so no and who says he could have killed Bellatrix she was a very powerful witch actually the last of voldemorts followers left alive and fighting
+Green House But he was technically not in the Harry Potter series, but only mentioned by name. Otherwise we would put him, the makers of Hogwarts, The Peverell brothers and Nicolas Flamel above Dumbledore.
Marco Dahlgren maybe not when it comes to dueling, as he is god damn over 600 years old. But yeah he's undoubtly more powerful than dumbledore as he created one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful, artifact in the story.
Hermione is amazing with logic and has an immense array of spells at her disposal, but she isn't particularity "powerful" even if she is magically gifted.
Yes, she is much more powerful than witches and wizards with twice her experience who were top generals in Voldemorts army (and he only chose the most powerful) and who have murdered countless aurors...ok...
If you think she's top three then you're just delusional. There's not a chance in hell that she's more powerful than Voldemort, Grindelwald, or Dumbledore.
Barty Crouch Jr. Overpowered and flawlessly imitated Moody for a year, fooling even Dumbledore, who knew Moody well. Manipulated the Goblet of Fire under everyone's noses with what seemed like very little effort, threw off the Imperius curse and his talent and academic achievements are repeated by several others throughout book four. He was also actually a really good teacher. The only reason he was caught was because Voldemort screwed up and let Harry escape.
of course he was. he was better at occlumency than voldemort was, amazing at potions, very strong in the dark arts, he made sectumsempra and several other curses and he was very smart. its just too bad we barely get to see him fight while not holding back.
I'm not saying that Harry is the most powerful wizard or even that he should be on the list. But in the comments I see a lot of people saying "It was only due to luck... He has no skill... He got help... " etc. Yes, it was due to a lot of luck but just as much of persistence and willpower. He might not know many spells, but the ones he is very good at. He could make a very powerful Patronus at a young age that many adult wizards couldn't do as an example. Also, he held his ground against Voldemort before he got the elder wand. Yes, he got help, but so did Voldemort. He got a lot of help from his deatheaters and if it weren't for them he would have been dead long ago too or at least not able to get strong again. Remember it says powerful too, not skillful. You can be skillful and not powerful and the other way around. Harry had a lot of characteristics that made him a powerful wizard and human being. Such as bravery (arguably braver than anyone else) and determination and so on. He might not make it to the list, but he is by no means weak.
Frederik Rasmussen Harry should be on the list. And while he might not be more powerful than Voldemort and Dumbledore I'm pretty sure he should be pretty close. 1. In the Goblet of Fire (his 4th year) at the end he had a duel against Voldemort and he overpowered him and won the duel (Dumbledore himself said that when harry took the killing curse and was talking to Dumbledore in the train station) he overpowered Voldemort due to his bravery. Not by help, luck, or voldemort underestimating him, or any complicated wand allegiance stuff but by his bravery. Keep in mind he was in his fourth year and he was duelling Voldemort himself and no he wasn't weak since his horcruxes weren't destroyed. It was the most fair duel between Harry and Voldemort and Harry won. Isn't that enough? But there's still more. 2. In OITQ (Harry's 5th year) he was able to defeat Antonin Dolohov, (disarm Lucius malfoy's snake looking thing which shoots spells) but that isn't really incredible, he was able to conjure a cruciatus curse on Bellatrix Lestrange one of the most advanced spells in the dark arts. And resist and Imperius curse from VOLDEMORT yeah, you know him one of the most powerful wizards. That's not counting the fact that he taught Dumbledore's army spells that the even said they couldn't conjure those spells before. 3. Third year he was able to conjure a really powerful patronus and he fought hundreds of dementors at the same time. 4. And in the deathly hallows part 2 at the end he could hold his own against Voldemort even with Voldemort's possession of the elder wand keep in mind the elder wand for some reason didn't resist to kill it's master when Voldemort shot the killing curse at Harry so it did have some kind of allegiance to Voldemort. 5. He is the wizarding world's hero. With the cursed child out you could truly see how horrific of a world it would have been if Harry were killed. He killed Voldemort and he was the last owner of the elder wand at least as far as we see since if he breaks it like in the movies then yes but if he repairs his original wand and then he places it back with Dumbledore in his grave then there might be a chance that there is a next owner. So isn't all of this enough to put him on the list?
Except Harry's willpower did not allow him to even make progress in divination, and more importantly occlumency and silent spells which were expected of students by their 5th year. He was not even a top of his year student. His weaknesses and lack of knowledge means he is no where near the top wizards in power, although he may be reasonably skilled in fights.
iComeInPeace In terms of pure power Harry I think is close to the top wizards. Knowledge maybe not so much but he wasn't dumb he got a really good grade in D.A.D.A and potions but keep in mind Harry couldn't focus that much on his studies since he was too busy worrying and fighting Voldemort from his first year to his last. He is also very quick and agile which is a very helpful skill in duels. He is a food flyer. So yes, if we're talking about him overpowering people in duels not by the knowledge of many spells but because the ability to overpower opponents then Harry is a really strong wizard but in terms of knowledge, that's where he is just an average wizard.
Bellatrix is a very powerfull witch, she is at least the only known detheater who could self defense against a spell casted by Dumbledore in a fight. So she deserves the fith place at all. But I agree that Minerva should be placed higher than place nine like place 6 or something.
you are right. Minerva should be on the second place. bellatrix, voldemort and moody and snape is nothing in front of her. she gets snape out of hogwart and two other men in seconds
He is mentioned in the books. Even has a Chocolate Frog Card named after him. Slytherin and arguably the most powerful charms master ever to have lived.
However, I assume that this list considers only those wizards whose power can be compared in this era. Merlin may have been the most powerful wizard before half the spells were even invented.
I know that we only see Aberforth Dumbledore a little but judging by that massive Patronus Charm during the Battle of Hogwarts, I think he deserves a mention here.
The good guy is strong by heart and grows stronger by power the better way. Voldemort is strong by killing torturing and by his followers who follow him because they fear him.
Libra Potato a coward?? Bellatrix literally defeated anyone who challenged her with the exception of molly and Harry, (we will also exclude Hermione because of the circumstances) Bellatrix was literally the most powerful witch up until her death.
Arian Jashari he could kill voldemort b/c he is the true owner of the most powerful wand in the world ( i forget the name of it ) and voldemort was using that wand to fight Harry , the wand cannot harm its true owner , that is why voldemort lost. He survived the first death bc of the power of love of his mother not his power , second b/c only the soul of voldemort inside him was dead , that ‘s how it works , not bc of his power .
I agree with Jhon, Harry is a great wizard, but his skills are not so much developed compared to the others from this list (also he’s young, maybe as an adult he develop his abilities). I would say he’s not the greatest but he may be the bravest :)
From the HP books, before fantastic beasts. 1. Merlin 2. Dumbledore 3. Voldemort 4. Grindelwald 5. Godric Gryfindor 6. Salazar Slytherin 7. Rowena Rawenclaw 8. Helga Hufflepuff 9. Nicholas Flamel 10. Severus Snape/Minerva McGonagall/Amelia Bones/Filius Flitwick (One of those. They are pretty close matched.)
Dude. Harry should definitely be on this list. Yeah he had a lot of help but that's only because he was underage and still had a lot of learning to do. All of these wizards are better because they are older all older and wiser. Harry was already a master of Advance magic like Expecto Patronum and he was only 13 at the time. Plus he was accomplished at dueling by age 11. That should say a lot right there already. Dude was still in school. Still learning all of this stuff. Dumbledore was the best because he was the oldest and the most wise of everyone else. Had a lot of time to learn and practice. Harry has only been practicing magic for 7 years.
Not really. In the book, it was said Dumbledore had shine even in his first year. When he was 17, he and Grindelwald went for "greater good" cause, which I can say he had advance more than harry though Harry did defeat Voldemort.
Hermione is stronger than Harry. Harry really isn't that special, and not an accomplished duelost at 11. He didn't even learn how to duel until 2nd year (12yo).
Bryan Johnson actually she isn’t. She was a bookworm and wasn’t on Harry’s level when it came to defence against the dark arts and obviously duelling. The evidence being their grades and Harry’s accomplishments. I truly think that Harry deserved to be on this list because though modest the kid not only borne the burden of being the chosen one but also defeated Voldemort in the end all on his own ( I am talking about his final duel) remember dubmbledor acknowledged Voldermot to be as equally good as any auror perhaps even better even without his hocruxuxes
Vulnera Sanentur is the counter curse for Sectumsempra. And besides, the healing spell only worked on bad cuts and not a knife piercing someones heart.
Yep, Dumbledore hands down. He defeated Gellert Grindelwald while Grindelwald had elder wand. He fought against full powered Voldemort without a scratch, almost having the upper hand, while defending Harry and also restraining Bellatrix. He "fought" against the minister for magic, Kingsley, Dawlish and Umbridge without any trouble.
Voldemort is more powerful than Grindlewald. The proof is when Dumbledore recalls tom riddle's past saying "Did I know I met the most powerful dark wizard of all time"
Creating 6 horcruxes is enough to become 'the most powerful DARK WIZARD of all time'. But Voldemort's magical prowess was nothing compared to Grindelwald and Dumbledore. He uses only one spell in a duel - avada kedavra. To be a dark wizard, you just have to do horrible things, and whoever does the most horrible things is the most powerful.
Lewis basketball 123 during the fight at the Department of Mysteries, he fucking dueled with two death eaters on his own. Alastor only fought off one but still manages to get his ass kicked.
I agree that the hogwarts founders should be on here but the best we saw the brothers do is create a bridge then the youngest was wize enough not to trust death which i dont think takes too much knowledge, and we just dont know enough about merlin to place him
The reason for them to be left out is most likely because we know what they valued in their students... Courage (Gryffindor), Social Skills (HufflePuff), Cleverness (Ravencalaw), Ambition (Slytherin), but the only founder of which we've seen some results of magic abilities could be Slytherin, as we know he was a parslemouth (does that talent count as powerful?) and that he bred a Basilisk (but is laying a chicken egg under a toad really magic power?) It is hard to compare them to the magic things we've seen Voldemort and Dumbledore do.... Especially since all four of them were dead long before the events in this story.... If we've seen movies or read books about the founders themselves so we can see them in action, I think there's a good chance this countdown should be revised.... At the current time it's hard to tell how strong they are.
@@TheRealTricky we know that Rowena ravenclaw created a diadem that makes the wearer more wise and we know that the four of them made the sorting hat. Didn't all the death eaters and the order of the phoenix also fly? Or does a cloud of white/black smoke swirling at extreme speeds in the sky not count?
McGonagall > Snape. JKR said that McGonagall would have defeated Snape had their fight in book/part 7 gone on - which is impressive considering that she was well past her prime. And Voldemort > Grindelwald. Again, according to JKR's canon.
asim faazal that's not the point we know that but what he's saying is that in a prolonged dual to the death Minerva would eventually come out on top and jkr said this so sorry he's right
commentmaster i cant ever remember thinking antonin dolohov was exceptional in anything. sirius black became an animagus when he was a freaking teenager (i cant remember his age but 13-15) fought in a war, survived 12 years in azkaban and is the first known wizard to BREAK OUT of azkaban without help.. id say hes pretty powerful.. dont know if id put him on the list tho
In movies we see more unbalance.I mean Sirious loses from Bellatrix and Bellatrix loses from Molly? The only explanation is that it was a surprize attack but still seems too weird and unbalanced.
In the battle of Snape and Minerva, she didn't kill the wizards behind Snape. It was actually Snape that deflected the spell their way, in order to protect both minerva and Harry.
Actually mcgonagall didn't deafeat the carrows.. snape Did... at the same time he defended Him self... that just proves his power he legit turned mcgonogalls spells to his own attacks....
Kingsley Shacklebolt should've made the list. He became the Minister of Magic after the war and was a famous auror. He also survived a short duel against Lord Voldemort.
because your power is way lower than Dumbledore's, if you read the books, in order of the phoenix you, Bellatrix and one other deatheater fought Dumbledore and even Dumbledore tries to protect Harry he defeated you all. But Grindlewald was able to stand against Dumbledore alone and he was almost Dumbledore's equal. That's how :(
I think someone like him should be on the list. I remember either reading or hearing somewhere, and don't quote me on this, "that wizards nowadays aren't as powerful as they used to be." If this is actually true, then yes, someone like him should probably be on the list.
The fact that we are not even talking abt Harry n Lilly shows how neglected they are, I mean they saved Harry's arse on numerous occasions despite being dead. They might not be the smartest of the wizarding world but they definitely pulled off some serious stuff, they deserve credit.
@@Sven_Hendriksen no they discovered the castle and used it for Hogwarts. Plus they founded hogwarts around 900 AD and Dumbledore was born in the 1800's meaning that he was able to learn and use everything possible from the founders times all the way up to his own. Same with everyone on the list
I think that Aberforth Dumbledore should be added somewhere in this list. He didn't get much screen time but I think that he was powerfull enough to be put somewhere in top 10.
Are you ppl so dense that you assume that just because someone is more powerful that they cant possibly be beat by someone less capable? Opportunity, luck, etc. Have you heard of those? Harry beat Voldemort twice. Does that make him more powerful than the dark lord? No.
He was still bad, he bullied students and made them petrified of him "just because he lost his loved one" Sirious lost, james, lily and went to azkaban and didnt blame harry, Lupin lost James, Lily, sirious and pettigrew in ONE night and didnt blame harry
Like he seriously is a creep and just he didn't get the "LUST" of his life, that doesn't mean he will treat everyone badly and make them feel the same "injustice" as he felt. Like I would've seriously gaged if he had got along with lily. Lily was a far better human than severus.(not saying James was any better)
@@Robstar-yz2em Nah you are really downplaying Snape's past here. After being bullied for years, he made the mistake of joining the death eaters and retreating into dark magic at a very young age. It's a lot for a kid to handle, so yes he didn't react well to seeing his love married to his bully, but there was a lot more to it than that. Does it excuse the way he treats the kids as an adult no, but it is understanding given how broken he is and he makes up for it by constantly saving them from actual harm.
Yeah he took an essential part to defeat mouldy Voldy. Voldy could know if one was lying to him or not but he couldn't find out about Snape, Snape was a brilliant occlumens, without him being an occlumens, Voldy would have cut Harry into pieces like a knife on soft bread.

Dev Gaming "by breaking a bridge" exactly. It wasn't through his magical skills or knowledge. Also, the explosives were created by Seamus under the order and idea of Mcgonagall(according to movie adaptation). Quack Meister At least she's in the list! Unlike the ginger, 4 eyes and hottie.
they weren't particularly powerful in the books, as Harry himself said, a lot of what he did was pure luck (although it may have also been related to the prophecy but he had no way of knowing that) as for Ron and Hermione, sure they probably became pretty accomplished later in life (especially Hermione), but from what we know in Canon, they really don't belong on the list.

Also voldemort didnt knew snape plan because slytherin could read minds but snape never let voldemort do because he was powerful!

Don’t be bloody silly
you forgot to mention harry killed Voldemort
And he was strong after all deaths he had seen and tbh other powerful wizards were helped too
Harry is the main character and the one who flippin’ defeated Voldemort, but still is one of the most underrated characters. 🤭
Harry also survived avada kadavra 2 times!!!

Minerva McGonagall deserves way better then 9th place shes stronger then Bellatrix!
I wish McGonagall or Hermione would have killed Bellatrix.
Definitely
@gamelvr1 i agree, maybe killing your parents is bad,but really driving your parents nuts, beyond the ability to live a normal life,is like to steal a life from themselves, making them kinda zombies.i meant by that this:cause a debilitating physical harm is easy conpared to cause such mental harm.
@Tom Cross Calm down you Bellatrix husband! You sound ridiculous saying all that like if you knew her or something. The bitch was killed by Ginnys mother so easily, guess she was not that stronger at the end.
I agree 9th is far to low
To everyone wondering why Harry's not included, please take a look at this.
Harry is a plot device. Yes, he's brave, has immense willpower and does grow into a powerful wizard and Auror, but putting him on the same level as the guys in this video while he's in school is just ridiculous. He's just not that developed yet
There are a few instances where we can judge his actual combat prowess compared to adult wizards
End of Half-Blood Prince, when Snape is escaping and Harry catches up to him.
BRUH HE PUT SNAPE ON THE LIST MOSLY BECUSE OF THE STUFF HE DID IN SCHOOL DUMBO
snape is a special caseyes he was verrryyyyy gifted in school but he also further porved himself after school as he grew to his full power which harry didn't get the chance to do in the books no one is saying harry couldn't makeit on the list if he was shown many years later as he has developed more they are saying from the point the books ended he wasn't at a point yet where he was more powerful then these 10

I agree, i thought she would be on here too. She dueled against numerous death eaters that had more experience and still beat them!
Maybe than Bellatrix and Dolohov, but Alestor Moody was an auror. No disrespect to Hermione but she can't even compete against Moody

I always thought that proffeser snape was a powerful wizard
of course he was. he was better at occlumency than voldemort was, amazing at potions, very strong in the dark arts, he made sectumsempra and several other curses and he was very smart. its just too bad we barely get to see him fight while not holding back.
it's obvious he's one of the most powerful wizard in the series
Frederik Rasmussen well said
Frederik Rasmussen Harry should be on the list.
Correction:In his 3rd year, it was Snape's patronus that helped him. Notice the deer?
Minerva should be on top 5 place at least. Bellatrix isn't more powerful than her..
Bellatrix is a very powerfull witch, she is at least the only known detheater who could self defense against a spell casted by Dumbledore in a fight. So she deserves the fith place at all. But I agree that Minerva should be placed higher than place nine like place 6 or something.
100% even molly is better than her!
She definitely should be
Gugui G i think bellatrix is better when its time to fight for life, more experienced, from what i know. But i think it would be an intense duel

Moschel91 I'm guessing he's not in the books either
He is mentioned in the books. Even has a Chocolate Frog Card named after him. Slytherin and arguably the most powerful charms master ever to have lived.
However, I assume that this list considers only those wizards whose power can be compared in this era. Merlin may have been the most powerful wizard before half the spells were even invented.
hogwarts founders are slytherin, gryffindor, ravenclaw and hufflepuff
I know that we only see Aberforth Dumbledore a little but judging by that massive Patronus Charm during the Battle of Hogwarts, I think he deserves a mention here.

Barbara R i would say he is a prodigy. He become a head auror and the head of the department of magical law enforecement, if im not mistaken

Exactly. So maybe after another 10 years he can earn a spot on the list. But at the time of the books he would be nowhere near these other wizards
I KNOW I WAS SO SHOOK THAT HE WASN'T ON HERE
Bryan Johnson actually she isn’t. She was a bookworm and wasn’t on Harry’s level when it came to defence against the dark arts and obviously duelling. The evidence being their grades and Harry’s accomplishments. I truly think that Harry deserved to be on this list because though modest the kid not only borne the burden of being the chosen one but also defeated Voldemort in the end all on his own ( I am talking about his final duel) remember dubmbledor acknowledged Voldermot to be as equally good as any auror perhaps even better even without his hocruxuxes

yeah merlin was the most powerful wizard of all time
Sky M. You are right brother
Merlin is weak...
Sky M. Yeah but he never even makes a real appearance in the books or movies so it wouldn’t be fair
This is only about the wizards in the books, we actually get to know about. We don't get anything about Merlin from the books, do we?
Pre-Video: If Harry is number one, I'm going to hurt somebody.
Thank God.
HAHAHAHAH
hes not even in the list
Nolan Lee good
Frankly I think Luna Lovegood and Hermione will stun Harry pretty easily. Remember the department of mysteries.
Voldemort is more powerful than Grindlewald. The proof is when Dumbledore recalls tom riddle's past saying "Did I know I met the most powerful dark wizard of all time"
he says dangerous, but yes voldemort is more powerful for other reasons
But still got beaten and bested by Harry. Lol 😂
@@adarshs1671 True,true...
Lies. He says dangerous
You forgot about Kingsley Shacklebolt!!
true
he's not that good and what about harry
Lewis basketball 123 during the fight at the Department of Mysteries, he fucking dueled with two death eaters on his own. Alastor only fought off one but still manages to get his ass kicked.
Lewis basketball 123 harry is week he onlys used one fricen spell
Brix Belen yeah I mean he was menchined selver times
Omg! Minerva Mcgonagall is the BEST thank you Maggie Smith for playing the best character ever!!
Yeas
A fan theory also suggests that when McGonagall confronts Severus he deliberately deflects her blasts into the death eaters accompanying him
What about the Hogwarts founders, the Three Brothers who created the Deathly Hallows and Merlin?
I agree that the hogwarts founders should be on here but the best we saw the brothers do is create a bridge then the youngest was wize enough not to trust death which i dont think takes too much knowledge, and we just dont know enough about merlin to place him
Oh we saw a lot of them especially in movies so much scenes about them it totally isnt that theyre there once in a whole movie
The reason for them to be left out is most likely because we know what they valued in their students... Courage (Gryffindor), Social Skills (HufflePuff), Cleverness (Ravencalaw), Ambition (Slytherin), but the only founder of which we've seen some results of magic abilities could be Slytherin, as we know he was a parslemouth (does that talent count as powerful?) and that he bred a Basilisk (but is laying a chicken egg under a toad really magic power?)
It is hard to compare them to the magic things we've seen Voldemort and Dumbledore do....
Aswell as making the school itself, which includes building a chamber that opens only to parselmouths and a room that elementary transfigures itself into anything that the person that comes across it needs. But other than that i agree that we havent seen enough of them to place on the list
@@TheRealTricky slytherin was voldemort's ideal .That was the reason for voldemort hiding slytherin's locket in an army of inferi . so we know tha slytherin had to be powerful
Number 1: "Gandalf"
Wait......
Gandalf in another world
100th like bro
Number 2: Saruman...
Gandalf the grey.. 😂😂
@@shivendrapundir9990 white gandalf has more powerful
harry= why am not in it
Draco= My father will hear about this
ok but honestly whi isnt harry in this. he preformed a full patronus at the age of 13 and he killed voldemort
He didn’t kill Voldemort
@@luans.40 have you seen the movie or read all the books. he killed voldemort. the hogwarts war??? neville killed the snake and then he killed voldemort
Maria Rizwan Voldemort died because the elder wand realized that he belongs the Harry. Then Voldemort’s spell was thrown at himself. Harry didn’t use any great power. It was Dumbledore‘s plan and Luck
@@luans.40 nope when Neville killed the snake Tom became mortal again also if you watch goblet of fire Harry overpowered him there too showing his abilities and riddle didn’t have to wand at that time explain that
@@kingston6008 Harry just had some kinda power over Voldemort, that's why Voldemort failed to kill him...nd harry just had some kinda gifts nd magic was just so natural to him, he could perfom alot of things easily...but when he came to skill he was not that skilled compare to wizard mentioned...proof to that is when he tried to fight snape
Is it just me or the fact that Snape can fly is creepy. I mean imagine seeing a flying Snape coming at you???? 4:55
Didn't all the death eaters and the order of the phoenix also fly? Or does a cloud of white/black smoke swirling at extreme speeds in the sky not count?
J Donner Thats what you think if you only watch the movies
In the books, only Snape and Voldemort can fly. The aurors and the death eaters don't know that kind of power
Swfan Uboros i thought bellatrix is also able to fly, isn't she?
McGonagall > Snape. JKR said that McGonagall would have defeated Snape had their fight in book/part 7 gone on - which is impressive considering that she was well past her prime.
And Voldemort > Grindelwald. Again, according to JKR's canon.
Snape wasn't really trying because he was on her side.
asim faazal that's not the point we know that but what he's saying is that in a prolonged dual to the death Minerva would eventually come out on top and jkr said this so sorry he's right
Adam King jkr can say whatever she likes. The books are done
Objective Ninja The only duel that's better in the movie. Snape is so brilliant while fighting mcgonagall.
Superiorer So true, she adds in facts that don't match the story.
Dumbledore is not driven by love, his love even criticized by Snape
Voldemort was more powerful than grindelwald
Gandalf better be on this list :^)
White one. The gray one was ... meh.
OfficerBootyReportin4Duty i
gandalf was so fucking powerful, fuck the movies, they made him look stupid
Rocrack idk man it was pretty cool how he pulled a Benjamin Button in the Hobbit trilogy
ITS FROM HARRY POTTER BRUH
hey what about Sirius Black..?
Not powerful whatsoever. These are all people who have shown exceptional aptitude, sirius is just a normal wizard in comparison
commentmaster i cant ever remember thinking antonin dolohov was exceptional in anything. sirius black became an animagus when he was a freaking teenager (i cant remember his age but 13-15) fought in a war, survived 12 years in azkaban and is the first known wizard to BREAK OUT of azkaban without help.. id say hes pretty powerful.. dont know if id put him on the list tho
barty crouch jr. breaked out earlier than sirius
Philipp Paul Eckert
His father take him out and his mother take his place using polyjuice potion.
Sorry for my bad English.
It was actually Snape that deflected the spell their way, in order to protect both minerva and Harry.
what about harry he almost killed voldemort when he was a one year old
dude that was just because of bounce of his mother's curse
It wasn't Harry, but Lily Potter's love for Harry that killed Voldy.
😂😂😂😂😂
@@Trustgamer7 yes, indeed. Screaming "Noooo" and throwing your body in the path of a wizard's spell is indeed "a curse."
That was lily's love. Not harry
You missed the legendary hero Gilderoy Lockhart
Ryan Nguyen lol finally someone who understands the true power of GILDEROY LOCKHART
XD
hell yeah.... he's the man
Please tell me you are joking?
He so stupid XD
Actually mcgonagall didn't deafeat the carrows.. snape Did... at the same time he defended Him self... that just proves his power he legit turned mcgonogalls spells to his own attacks....
Anteee X Thank you! I'm trying to figure out how nobody saw that.
Ignoring the tripe shown in the film, Potter and Lovegood defeated the carrows...
94matthen finally someone wrote
that! I have been searching for months for this comment 😂
DID ANYBODY READ THE FREAKING BOOKS? LINA LOVEGOOD KNOCKED OUT THE GIRL AND HARRY WRECKED THE GUY!
P-dog Dipietro Actually he cruciated him 😅
Kingsley Shacklebolt should've made the list. He became the Minister of Magic after the war and was a famous auror. He also survived a short duel against Lord Voldemort.
How in the world am i behind grindlewald ?
Tom Marvolo Riddle xD
xD mate
because your power is way lower than Dumbledore's, if you read the books, in order of the phoenix you, Bellatrix and one other deatheater fought Dumbledore and even Dumbledore tries to protect Harry he defeated you all. But Grindlewald was able to stand against Dumbledore alone and he was almost Dumbledore's equal. That's how :(
Dumbledore had his brothers help when fighting Grendelwal
Deniz Kavakli when i fought him he was way more experienced
And what about Umbridge she can annoy anyone without a wand ???🤣🤣😂😌😧😝
Jack Mikulic yep saw the original comment right above this one lol
True
@BHEENI JAJODIA he is not, read the comment carefully and stop taking offense to every comment. Your immaturity insults the community
Lol
What about Merlin? (and yes Merlin is in the Harry Potter universe)
I think someone like him should be on the list. I remember either reading or hearing somewhere, and don't quote me on this, "that wizards nowadays aren't as powerful as they used to be." If this is actually true, then yes, someone like him should probably be on the list.
The founders of Hogwarts should be on the list too.
The founders of hogwarts should be here, as well as Merlin and Nicolas Flamel.
merlin in the harry potter world IS dumbledore
yes nicolas flamel
The fact that we are not even talking abt Harry n Lilly shows how neglected they are, I mean they saved Harry's arse on numerous occasions despite being dead.
They might not be the smartest of the wizarding world but they definitely pulled off some serious stuff, they deserve credit.
Where is Sirius black, the first guy to escape Askaban prison right under the nose of the dementors
And became an Animagus without the help of the Ministry, good at nonverbal and healing magic, and good with animals ❤️
MetallicGirl so did pettigrew
Augustin yes, but with the help of his mother, he had help and escaped by pretending he was another person
Bedrock Johnson true
Bedrock Johnson That's more Skill than Power.
dont forget Helga Hufflepuff, Salazar Slytherin, Godric Gryffindor and Rowena Ravenclaw
@TheGamingTurtle they're
We never got An actually, prove of their might
TheGamingTurtle they made a flippin castle
@@Sven_Hendriksen no they discovered the castle and used it for Hogwarts. Plus they founded hogwarts around 900 AD and Dumbledore was born in the 1800's meaning that he was able to learn and use everything possible from the founders times all the way up to his own. Same with everyone on the list
Warner bros should need to create their movies. So we know how powerful they are.
I think that Aberforth Dumbledore should be added somewhere in this list. He didn't get much screen time but I think that he was powerfull enough to be put somewhere in top 10.
Number 10:Flitwick,who beat Dolohov.
Number 8:Dolohov
Dolohov got defeated by Flitwick, shouldn't that mean Flitwick is stronger than Dolohov?
Bullshit list
Also Dolohov beat Moody, who is above him on the list.
Also McGonagall is far too low.
Are you ppl so dense that you assume that just because someone is more powerful that they cant possibly be beat by someone less capable? Opportunity, luck, etc. Have you heard of those? Harry beat Voldemort twice. Does that make him more powerful than the dark lord? No.
the smartest is Ron Weasley because he defeated Dumbledore in chess and it was only the first year
Actually Minerva created that chess but yeah, Ron is a hidden badass
Ron is very underrated... He casted many non-verbal spells even with wands that didnt really belong to him!
@@karchsden Sorry bro.
@@Tiobun That never happened, wtf. He never casted non-verbal spells
@@alax155 So you suppose "eat slugs" is a real Spell? Or in the Scene at the Cafe when they got attacked by two death eaters...
Just to be clear no one should ever think snape was a bad guy/confused romantic. Snape was sooooo integral to defeating Voldemort
He was still bad, he bullied students and made them petrified of him "just because he lost his loved one" Sirious lost, james, lily and went to azkaban and didnt blame harry, Lupin lost James, Lily, sirious and pettigrew in ONE night and didnt blame harry
Okay he was integral to the defeat of Voldemort that doesn’t make him good and it doesn’t stop him from being at the very very least shady in morality
_I knew that Voldemort’s knowledge of magic is perhaps more extensive than any wizard alive. I knew that even my most complex and powerful protective spells and charms were unlikely to be invincible if he ever returned to full power._
-Dumbledore, OotP
So flitwick beat dolohov, but dolohov ranks higher? What the hell
Snape "defeated" Dumbledore, does it make him better? Nahh I guess
Snape killed DUmbledore by mercy XD
Same like molly weasley killed Bellatrix
+Leugjournaal I think Neville should have.
Dev Gaming "by breaking a bridge" exactly. It wasn't through his magical skills or knowledge. Also, the explosives were created by Seamus under the order and idea of Mcgonagall(according to movie adaptation). He may have killed Nagini and therefore played a critical role at defeating Dumbledore BUT it didn't really display his magical abilities or knowledge.
