Common Problems 1. Only one eye shock: Edit the other EyeOpen to have a maximum of 1.4 too! 2. 9:24 Glue colors are inverse of mine: apply glue until eyebrow and eyebrow sh are different colors, doesn’t matter if the colors are inverse 3. Can’t create a deformer (error: please create an object with same parent deformer selected) Make sure your selected elements are of the same hierarchy! So you can’t select child layers and the parent deformer together. You can click the little ( v ) above the deformer window until it becomes ( ﹥ ) and it will collapse the deformers, so you can better tell what’s on the same hierarchy. See my post for more info: ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx8fZ6rX4mblhgTsGUNLgCT6SUYNydsfWt?si=69KbNHw539LtqLVP 4. Reflect eye doesn’t go to the other side: A deformer takes the axis of reflection from its parent deformer, so likely you have another deformer on top of what you're trying to reflect!
I have a problem with gluing. It always ends uo either with not being able to move an eyebrow anymore(I make the brow fully turquoise), or I can move but a part of eyebrow is glued to place so the eyebrow deforms(tried to use glue only on one part of eybrow), or part of an eyebrow stays in place but it's shadow moves (on that part there is a bit of red). excuse me, i forgot to seperate the two eyes ( eyeball, iris, eyelashes ect) before rigging, does someone knows how to do it on live2D ? (sorry for my bad english, i'm french)
you did not mention how to get the physics from the highlight from r to l after you reflect. since you take the highlights out and then put them back in, they do not have the physics from l's eyes. how do you get the physics back? do you have to remake them?
If you need physics done on an asymmetric art mesh or deformer, it’s best to remake them! In my case I didn’t give the asymmetrical highlight its own physics so I didn’t need to do anything, I just put it in the iris p deformer which was symmetrical reflected from r to l.
Tysm so much for these videos! This is my first attempt at rigging a model so your content is perfect for me to get started. Question: While trying to copy and reflect my eye, the eye would reflect but not across the face. It would just flip horizontally on top of the previous eye. Any way of fixing this? Again thanks for the content, your art is amazing ❤
I have a question, soo there is an information that you shouldnt add more than 2 parameters to a single object because the performance will be bad. But I saw a lot of speed up processes of really pretty models with physics etc where people completely ignored that and assigned like 5 parameters to a single object like for example a lot of different physics and movement too, f eg for the eyes. and the results were astonishingly pretty, but they ignored the 2 parameter rule. and now I dont know how it really is.
You can disregard the rule if the params are blendshapes! I’ll have a tutorial for hair physics later on where you add multiple blendshapes, but for normal params I def don’t recommend adding more than 2 for unless you completely understand how 3+ param works.
found out they don't have to match the video, as long as the colors are opposites (brow is red, shadow is turquoise *OR* brow is turquoise/shadow is red) it works as intended! I know she responded to another commenter having the same problem, but i couldn't understand her explanation Q_Q
okay but, what do i do if i dont want to animate the eyes closing? i have 3 different eye shapes for open close and semi closed, how do i animate like that?
If I’m understanding correctly, you might need to look into live2d framing by frame! Essentially give the 3 eye shapes each 3 key points to eye close, and adjust their draw order so that the correct layer appears on top for a frame by frame effect
im loving this so far is allready been super helpful and I don't know if anyone asked this yet but if by chance do you know how to rig a coin flip for a vtuber? i cant seem to find any videos and iv seen your animations their so smooth!
Make sure your selected items are of the same deformer hierarchy! It has been a common problem from past vids, and I have copy pasted a more detailed explanation at the pin comment if you need 🫡
part 4 took me the longest to finish so far (stares at L_eyebrow_shadow) i made mistakes during manual mesh, thanks to my bff (chatgpt) i was able to finish it 😭💙
if you have an asymmetrical highlight of the eye, and do as you instructed in the video, then it will not have the same keyframes (for physics) as the other highlight. If I try to duplicate the highlight with physics keyframes and drag it over to the other side of the face then it only transforms one keyframe....do you know of any easier way to get the same keyframes of asymmetrical parts (pls help me I beg of you I'm losing my mind ;-;)?
You can refer to how I modified the eye white so that the modification applies to all keyforms attached: 12:06 , so just make a temporary deformer for the highlight and drag that deformer! Don’t forget to put the layer in it’s according iris deformers afterwards too
im rigging sprite art from a pre-existing game for the silliness of it (that took like 7 hours) and seeing this bastard just kind of exist in the "play" option in physics is killing me

you did not mention how to get the physics from the highlight from r to l after you reflect. since you take the highlights out and then put them back in, they do not have the physics from l's eyes. how do you get the physics back? do you have to remake them?
If you need physics done on an asymmetric art mesh or deformer, it’s best to remake them!
In my case I didn’t give the asymmetrical highlight its own physics so I didn’t need to do anything, I just put it in the iris p deformer which was symmetrical reflected from r to l.
Lol. I had to undo the eye physics. I did NOT like having Jello eyes.
🫶🫶 A deformer takes the axis of reflection from its parent deformer, so likely you have another deformer on top of what you're trying to reflect!
@@MerelyWufeii Thank you!
I am having an issue with my Physics parameters not copying over to my asym highlight despite putting it in the Iris Phys Deformer T^T
I fixed it!!!

does anyone have any tips if the glue colors are inverted? I can't get the state of the brow shadow to change...
found out they don't have to match the video, as long as the colors are opposites (brow is red, shadow is turquoise *OR* brow is turquoise/shadow is red) it works as intended!
@@MerelyWufeii my head is exploding rn ahshshss
@@MerelyWufeii is there any chance you can help me in private? im not understanding how all of this works properly ahshshs
im loving this so far is allready been super helpful and I don't know if anyone asked this yet but if by chance do you know how to rig a coin flip for a vtuber? i cant seem to find any videos and iv seen your animations their so smooth!
When I try to create the warp deformed “iris p” it says “Please create an object with the same parent deformed selected.” How do I fix this?
I’m going to try and just apply the warp deformer on “iris closed” like you showed to do for “iris roll” and see if that works.
Make sure your selected items are of the same deformer hierarchy! It has been a common problem from past vids, and I have copy pasted a more detailed explanation at the pin comment if you need 🫡
The Opacity parameter is grey-out and can not be changed.
Ver 4.2 blendshape does not support Opacity
that Smooth gets me everytime xd

part 4 took me the longest to finish so far (stares at L_eyebrow_shadow) i made mistakes during manual mesh, thanks to my bff (chatgpt) i was able to finish it 😭💙
if you have an asymmetrical highlight of the eye, and do as you instructed in the video, then it will not have the same keyframes (for physics) as the other highlight.
Don’t forget to put the layer in it’s according iris deformers afterwards too
asdfghj#@$! you're a genius! It's fixed and my sanity is somewhat maintained. Thank youuuuu! ╰(▔∀▔)╯@@MerelyWufeii
