🇵🇭 PHILIPPINES TOP 10 MULTI-BILLION Projects near Completion: 2023-2028

- These are the Philippines' top 10 multi-Billion Infrastructure projects that will be completed by 2023 to 2028.
The biggest Bridge project in the Philippines is the Bata-an Cavite Interlink Bridge costing 175.7 billion pesos or around $3.6 Billion. Soon to be Southeast Asia's Longest Iconic Bridge, it will connect Bata-an to Cavite, spanning a total length of 32.15 kilometers.
New Manila International Airport. An airport designed to handle 200 million passengers, built on 2,500 hectares, as part of the envisioned 12,000 hectares of aerotropolis. This green Airport City will cost $15 Billion and will be built by San Miguel Corporation without any government Subsidies. New Manila International Airport in Bulacan, will be the first “pacesetter for green cities” in the country. Addressing social and environmental concerns, to be both sustainable and equitable. The airport will be designed by world-renowned urban planner Jun” Palafox Jr.
Another Monumental rail project in the country is the Metro Manila Subway project. The most ambitious project under Duterte’s Administration was dubbed “the Philippines project of the century.
The $7 billion fully underground mass rail transit project, stretching a 25.3-kilometer subway, with 17 stations, will run from Mindanao Avenue in Valenzuela City to the FTI compound in Taguig City, with a spur connecting to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
The biggest Rail Infrastructure project in the country is the $15 Billion PNR North-South Commuter Railway project. Envision as a 163-kilometer sub-urban railway network. Connecting, Clark and New Clark City to Calamba City in Laguna.
The Makati Intra-City Subway, a 10-kilometer under-construction underground rapid transit line located in Makati City, Metro Manila, will link establishments across the city's business district, costing $2.5 Billion.
Among others, is the MRT line 7. A mass rail transit system with 14 stations, stretching 22.8 kilometers from North Avenue Common Station to San Jose Del Monte Bulacan. The $1.5 billion project overall progress rate, is now at 62 percent complete.
The LRT-1 Cavite Extension is an 11.7km extension of the rail system between Baclaran and Bacoor Cavite. The $1.3 Billion project was at 61.6 percent as of December.
The construction of the 7.3 billion pesos Panguil Bay Bridge, is ongoing at full steam. This 3.2 Kilometer Bridge will provide direct access to Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental.

More Progress, one successful project of Build Better More is CCLEX, which was completed before the end of Duterte's term in 2022. Looking forward to the future, the 4th Mactan-Cebu bridge will be completed before December 2027, I hope workers of PNR-NSCR, and Manila Metro Line 9, will work around the clock until December 2027, which is expected for maybe 97.5 - 99% completion.

It makes a lot of sense for almost all of these projects to be in Metro Manila where they will have the biggest impact on people's lives and the economy. But 3/4 or so of the population still lives in other places. Maybe Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Bacolod and other big population areas need better infrastructure as well?

I do feel that it strange to show a map of the Philippines and mention the 7000 islands of the archipelago and yet all the projects you mentioned are Manila centric. I certainly agree with Build Better More, but surely this should apply to the whole of the Philippines and not such a restricted capital regional area. Apply BBM to the archipelago as a whole and you will certainly see that investment in infrastructure pay dividends for the country’s economic future. I'm ready for these Philippine infrastructure projects to be completed to improve transportation options to and from areas within the Philippines. Even if the Sangley Point Airport is not upgraded, the New Manila International Airport should be able to handle more flight options that NAIA already serves as well as add additional nonstop routes especially since an A350 has the distance capabilities to handle longer nonstop flights and accommodate an A380, especially from Emirates. The long-distance flights that use NAIA should be moved to NMIA as well as the expanded Clark Airport. I think NMIA and Clark will be the main international airports to and from the Philippines on Luzon Island. I also think NMIA can do the domestic flight options that Island Jump within the Philippines.

Some of the projects like the Rapid rail lines are just extension. Meaning there is already several currently running Rapid rail lines in the city. So how can it be a ghost if the main lines already exist.

That remains to be seen if Bulacan International Airport will be the 2nd largest Airport in the world. considering Beijing Daxing And Attaturk International Airport in Istanbul is already enormous and some of the biggest airport in the world.

12:32 Speaking of the UGCS, I would hope that there’d be plenty of signages to direct commuters to the proper station. When I was there in May/June 2023, I took LRT1/LRT2, LRT1/MRT3, and LRT2/MRT3 quite often and found myself getting lost due to insufficient signages.
