Fine if you want the mf version, but c'mon man! You've got the chops. Bring it on!! This is your chance to drive the orchestra forward, to propel them to the climax!! You can do that! Why are you waiting!?? Why are you waiting!!
So many get to the point where they are challenged, and so many fail. I have been there. I have failed, and at times I have prevailed. Those times when I prevailed live in my mind. Go for it! What have you got to lose? Go for it! Go for it!! Dammit, go for it!!
You will never regret having gone for it. Only the sense of loss that you didn't go for it will haunt you. You may wish that you had not gone for it. That the notes were not there. That it wasn't perfect. And however it turned out for you, it will be, simply, a moment in time, just as if it had been an heroic monument to the moment of the time.
We live in the moment. We regret in the past. We fear we will be valued by the past, but the present is in the moment.
Embrace the moment. Life lives in the moment.

Beautiful! Do you play over an orchestra recording or do you find backing tracks without the tuba part?

I just play over a recording. Most times tuba parts aren't audibly at the forefront so it never gets too overpowering.

not bad man!! the pitch is pretty inconsistent though, especially towards the end, but the energy is there! Feels like you may need to work on some tuning and phrasing. But after that its gonna be even better!

If you can, upload yourself to see how it should be played.

@dimalex2924 I hate this attitude - you don't have to be capable of something to offer constructive criticism. Especially as a musician, it's insulting. I'm a percussionist - if I can hear that one of the oboes is out of tune, I don't have to play the oboe myself to know that. If I hear a trombone cou t a rhythm wrong, I don't have to go over there and play it myself to understand that.

@@pastashack3517This is especially true because the criticisms he detailed weren’t necessarily tuba specific.

I totally disagree. His pitch center was pretty dead accurate. Not at all sure what you’re hearing (yes I’m a brass musician, went to all state, so I’m not just some beginner with a bad ear).

@@gavinyoung3873 You might have bigger issues at hand if you can't hear how out of tune his playing is in relation to the recording. Not even beginning to mention how inconsistent dynamic evenness, note lengths, releases and fronts of notes are.
