- Olympic champion Lamont Jacobs became the European champion, winning the 100m final at the 2022 European Athletics Championships in Munich.
The 27-year-old Italian finished with a time of 9.95s ahead of Zharnel Hughes (9.99s) and Jeremiah Azu (10.13s), becoming just the third man to win the Olympic and European titles back-to-back.

Considering Jacobs was hampered by injury, sub 10 was very impressive.

Eugene wasn't valid without Jacobs after his crazy time from Tokyo...considering the conditions. I expect 9.74 from him this summer.
His finish is particularly absurd. That coach is a genius for that....but beating the 60m WR holder for a world title proves he is an outlier from the blocks to the finish.

He's not THAT built. Tall, muscular and lean. Just like most sprinters
Asafa was bigger than Marcell. Greene was bigger, almost all late 90's/2000 sprinters were more muscular
