@@st4rm4st3r That makes total sense. I wanted to step away from doing “desert planet” for a change even though it’s an easy go-to. I mean, OUR solar system is, when you think about it, mostly just a bunch of desert and gas giant planets.
@@TheYoungKing45 indeed, but sometimes on rare occasion, what happened to the earth when the moon was created, some planets never solidify and thus lava is a perfectly valid map style, though sadly it's never used that often in BattleTech games, my guess for two reasons: first it's really hard to find terrain that fits ash and obsidian that's in 6mm scale, second, while this isn't largely an issue in Alpha Strike, in Classic/Total Warfare, 'Mech fights on a volcanic planet are absolute hell, especially if your 'Mechs heatsinks are either poor quality or non-existent, your MechWarriors are likely going to slow-roast inside their cockpits lol
Our money was on the TDZ Bot :). It is very fun to see our little app in action like this. Glad to see it performing so well to create a quite exciting game 😁👍
@@tabledropzone Thanks so much for tuning in! Just wanted to say how much I appreciate your work on the Bot App and for making it available for free to the community 🙌🙌🙌
The app will stay free. Maybe if we feel like it we will add more things to it. There is also a "paper version" (a printable pdf rule book) in case you prefer paper. However, we out more work into the app. 😁😁
@@bruced648 I think I see where you are coming from here: there were certainly times during my solo games that smart choices were pretty clear and straightforward without the aid of behavior cards or an app. That said I do enjoy being surprised by using those tools, and that they have a lot of potential to model distinct opponent behaviors.

Interesting, I've been looking at ways of running enemies in a solo campaign, will have to give thw bot app a try
@@GoastLincoln Both are great (with different niches as noted)! And the best part about Tabledrop Bot is that you can go use it right now for free!

I've played battletech solo for decades. Aces is completely unnecessary.
