That side start is an amazing idea. Can't tell you how many times I have started walking to the trailer only to realize I forgot to blow a bed out and have to sling the backpack blower to the ground to restart.
Yes you have to take it off to start it agian
I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.
Im a residential user and would swap my Echo backpack for that model simply for the side start. Well done Stihl
logdon17 waste of money for a home owner
WOuldnt say waste, more like a luxury. Granted I am not really sure of the price so might be a pass now that I think about it.
@@cuttingedge1ph why? I have so many trees and stihls can last a lifetime if maintained.
Love how he blows the dust and leaves all over the cars, lol.
and runs an auto detailing service as well
Blake's face when starting it (left handed) is just hilarious.
There will be a 90cc blower war coming soon i can anticipate that highly. Pretty soon we'll be able to lift of the ground with these things
Greg McConner 2 cycle?
I just purchased the 800CE Magnum. Its stronger CFM than my previous backpack blower and hand held blower combined. I put it on auto and the blower tube is so balanced it falls exactly how it should to clear debris. Got $60 bucks off with mil discount and that took the sting away on price a little.
I finally upgraded from a hand held bg 66 to a br430 Bp blower wow the power difference!
I remember starting out how bad the hand held blower would kill my forearms all day
Wow! That easy start is incredible, definitely going to be a game changer!
When they made a comment about weight I have to say I'll trade weight for a better more reliable product any day. Bought my guy an echo trimmer because it was light but only lasted 2 seasons. Stihl is going on 4 seasons and is used more
Jonny G I have two husqvarna trimmers my dad has had for one for 8 years and I just haven’t had the chance to use it lately but still works and the other has around 7 years and is a higher end than the other one by has a muffler leak and then I have a Stihl that’s been used for 2 years and hasn’t lost any power yet at all compared to what the Husqvarna stuff we have. Stihl is hands down the best overall but I will say sometimes in terms of blowers, others may have more powerful options than even Stihl
I have the easy start on my stihl chain saw and it is amazing.
Why couldn't Stihl give you the option of whether you get the 800x with the telescoping nozzle or the fixed???
With my 3 week old 700x in the shed... lovely
I have to say sthil has came up with an amazing idea on this blower.. I hate turning off my blower to talk to the clients and then taking it off to start again
Ahh yes. Gotta love Va Beach jet noise!
Been using the X model since Monday. Love it, but I can hear my boss yell every time I back into something while blowing;) I’m 6,2 and I flip the barrel up over my shoulder to do roofs from the ground and it twist me pretty good when I gun it... great blower.
Can you do an updated video with the side start. I’m really thinking of buying one , but what to know how the side start is holding up.
I just bought the 800c and I love it!!!! Tears threw wet leaves like no other!!!! Gotta be careful with shallow grass though! Lol! The easy start is kinda a pain for me, but still a nice feature.
Jason M ya I didn’t like it, I’m used to the br 600. I bought the c version but quickly learned I didn’t like the the side pull, many times it wouldn’t work because I had to choke it, take it off etc..... prefer just to turn it on the concrete way, handle also feels pretty cheap and not that it would but felt like the line was about to snap. Sold the c bought the x.
@@czeky1 , the side pull is a pain in the butt, but I managed to figure it out for the most part. I'm a big guy, and the placement isn't very helpful also.
B is ready to blow some leaves 🤣! Bring one home Andy!
That br800 looks good. I'm a stihl guy but I own 1 echo equipment and that's the pb8010 because the power of it is better than the br800. Yes, the 8010 will out blow the br800. If it weren't for the 8010 I'd have all stihl equip.
I love this blower
Side start will probably be a repair problem ,
that none of us wants to deal with.
john doe
Thinking the same thing. Cool idea but how involved to switch out and repair?
It is I have one and had it for a month and it’s already broken and won’t start
I bought the 800c and began having start problems within 1 week!
Brought it back to dealer and switched it for the 800x.
Two months later and 800x pull cord gets stuck/jammed half the time.
Called dealer and he says drop it off but needs to keep it for a week to test and fix etc.
man oh man...
I like the idea of the side start but i'm worried about ease of replacement and cost. When I've broken a recoil spring, it's usually just a matter of 3 or 4 screws and putting the new starter on. They really need the side one and the normal one that attaches to the crank.
Just bought one today, can't wait to use it!!!!
My dealer is 4th largest in Michigan and he said we won't see it till January. I'm like January? I'll be plowing snow. LOL
What if you put the blower on your back and you forget to prime the bulb and turn the choke on? Now you gotta take it back off just to do those 2 things. Or if you do those and then you accidentally hit the throttle putting it on and the choke turns off then you gotta take it back off cause it won’t start. Doesn’t seem worth it too me for the extra money. I do love the hip straps I wish the other one had those.
Well yea after you do that twice you learn not to forget pretty fast lol
1:42 extreme enjoyment
A lot of these landscaper that come to where I work usually go for the pb-770, now that echo and stihl have new models I’m curious to see what will sell the most.
The new br800 c does have that cool feature of starting it while wearing it.
Awesome back pack blower and great video and it sounds awesome the br800 i love the ease of the side starter and it sounds aswome
yeah there avaliable in U.S.A and CANADA stihl dealers
U no what would be a game changer is 90°movable tip on the end so u can stop the side 2 side walking and just walk straight. 2 able 2 move tip end with the throttle handle some how Would make life a lot easier
Great video Andy
sweet deal 👍👍 all the Mexican gardeners will love that ?
Buying Stihl before anything else.
Thanks for the information
awesome side start I cant even believe he starts blowing right at vehicles.....
I would love to get one , but in Canada they don't have them yet. I contacted sthil and they said to watch for them coming.
Yeah that side starter is a great idea. Nice
The close up on Blake's face😂🤣
Going to go buy 6 for starters.
Damn, being able to start this front the standing/backpack mounted position... #gamechanger #epic #mostefficient #gotta #upgrade
I love mine
very nice this blower is my best blower in this moment thats oll!
That's an awesome leaf blower 👍
That's the most awesome piece of gear I've ever seen!
The blacktop got shredded. And I just bought a BR700. Man....
Not sure how true this is but my STIHL guy told me that his rep said it’s a 2019 release date... I hope that not the case. I’d like to get my hands on one before these leaves start to drop..
Yep
Hello! In Brazil we are using to fight forest fires. Do you know where I can get technical data? What is the air velocity (m / s), weight, operating time? Thank you all and great video!
Dam I have to have one now !!! So easy to start!!!
😮😮😮 awesome footage, will be upgrading my br700 asap. Love the telescoping tube.
You should start making your lawn solo and lawnperneuer shirts again
Yeah super powerful. Only if it had a 2 cycle engine. The epa killed the 2cycle. The 4 mix stuff doesn't last as long as the true 2 cycle stuff. The damn keepers break and the valves drop into the cylinder. Plus you have to adjust the valves every 25 to 30 hours. And the valves still drop. Every broken 4 mix product has valve problems. Remove the valves port the cylinder and it would run forever.
Yea man I love the 2stroke RPMs and Sound!
Stihl needs to upgrade their gas hand held blower line up.
What type of ear plugs are you using
Really like the comfort features on Stihl equipment but I just worry about durability. My Redmax 8500s are like dinosaurs compared to this but they just work with no issues. I'm still running an 8001 on the truck with no issues. I get worried that with every new feature, there are more parts that could break.
I like Stihl blowers but haven't had good luck with them those 4mix just don't last us more then 2 years I had like 4 with bad cranks after two years and gave up on them we have been sticking with echos 770 now and there on their 5th year with us and way less maint then still no valves to deal with and regular echo oil no fully synthetic exp
Mix your fuel correctly and you'll go 6 years easily without issue. Use mid grade fuel and if you can afford synthetic oil. I have countless Stihl blowers all run great. Do yourself a favor remove screen of exhaust it's a California EPA nuisance.
@@turfcommando9216 believe me I mix my fuel correctly been doing this for 32 years what I've been told by two mechanics is 4mix in very hot climates like MIAMI FLA don't do very well I don't know if that is true but I see all these guys up north getting 5 and 6 years out of them.
@@victorrippe5845 That wouldn't make any sense. Engines get hot running so what does temperature have to do with blower .
Maybe you had a bad batch of blowers IDK
@@turfcommando9216 no I didn't I've had several of my friends br600 magnums go out on them as well.

Price and availability?
I just got this blower
And it was working fine for 2 weeks and then went off while working. Got home clean the muffler arrestor and air filter and came on again. Worked perfect for 4 days and same thing happen again. I did the same thing clean all of the simple air filter and spark plug muffler and no success this time. Any body with same problem.
That would be crappy 2 stroke oil full of carbon. Use a full synthetic such as Opti-2. Run full throttle too, slow throttle will cause problems
What does it weigh? How do the power stats match up to the new echo blower?
So Stihl ditched the electric start then
Gregs Mowing I remember seeing that. Disappointed
If it have the electric start it’s going to be more Heavy cause of the battery they trying to save weight. Make it lighter
They still carry electric start model it's like the 450.
Joe Bononia I know. I have one lol. But being the commercial blower it’s more likely something like that is needed rather than a homeowner using it. I think the pull start from the left side is a good lighter replacement
@@GregsMowing Definitely
They shouldn't have even bothered making the BR700... I have the BR700 and its great, but I will immediately replace it with the BR800 when they are available. This is what Stihl should have put out 5 yrs ago as a response the the Redmax.
starts similar to a paramotor
The stats on this blower seem disappointing. 912 cfm and 199 mph (239 mph max) just appears to be a tweak of the BR700. It makes you wonder why Stihl even bothered to bring out the 700 a few years ago. Looks like that Echo PB8010 is going to be the king of the hill for time being at least. It's too bad that Stihl couldn't have produced something with at least 1000 cfm.
239 mph air speed with 912 CFM. Is an amazing attribute to us professionals. Including the new start system and hip belt.
I have the BR700 and Husqvarna 580BTS. The 700 has been disappointing. I even put the BR450 tip on it to help with air speed. All that did was turn it into a clone of the BR600. It's fine for everyday mowing and great on fuel but lags when doing fall clean ups, especially when pitted against the 580. As for that hip start system, it looks like a gimmick to me and a part that will break down over time. It is not that difficult to put the blower down and restart it.
Yeah,
Side start will probably break easily.
Possible but hope not
@@johndoe-xq4sq How do you figure ? I'm sure they tested it. It's pulls from compression stroke. It obviously has compression release which allows it to easily start. When I buy a few br800s I'll hit you up on the side start.
Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
Stihl is awesome when comes to blowers to me echo blowers are heavy
blessings from Puerto Rico bro.. that blower is the next to the next level great vid .
..
I totally agree that the side start feature is a HUGE game changer. I cant tell you how many times ive taken off the blower to restart it after speaking with a customer...LOL. LOVE THAT!!! Glad I waited and didn't get the 700. My only concern is the waist belt. I get it...heavier machine and all...but not sure I want to mess with the waist belt all the time. Can it be removed and just use the shoulder straps? Also curious to know how long its going to take to get a backpack rack that will work with it.
The waist belt is probably just a quick release buckle that you can either use or not. Just my speculation though.
It would be nice if I could stand on the right or left or from front to back and not have to not move to dblow all the leaves that are underneath without having to crouch down. Just saying.
My br450 c has a push button start
Yea the push button start is awesome wish they would add it to a top commercial unit but I bet the price would be crazy and also heavy
Yeah the weight could become an issue I bet
That intro song is really bad.....
Disagree
Agree. It was kind of cringey.
Yeah it sucked
Into song sucked!!
Appreciate the video. That's all I needed to see!!! Any ETA yet?
Love mine
Deffo gunna get one
Nice 👍🏻 I want that blower now lol
A four stroke ?
Awesome video.
When will the br800 be available??
The demonstrator twice said 20 % more powerful.
Why ?
Is the 800 20 % more powerful than the 700 ?
I think it’s as far as MPH
Funny kid good kid
when will it be available for sale?
It’s 2018 they can’t make push button start?
Unless you want the added weight and cost of a starter motor, relays, electrical systems and a battery to charge.
Awesome video
Do you have the MPH and CFM numbers?
And... 4 stroke or 2 stroke?
When are they gonna be for sale
Very cool
No Hip mounted throttle control model??
Not that I’m aware of
Price???
ok but isnt most of the population right handed?? why is it on the left
Dude I want one 😍
Bro! That stand up start almost has me swaying to stihl.. but then I remember everything else I dont like about stihl and I change my mind.
no more stihl for me.. my b700 had a hole by the engine,, only 4 yrs old and hardly use,,, no good
Hell Yeah!
Does the X model come with the hip belt?
No, but it waste time anyways
I am I stihl repair tech thay are not even out yet
I’ll take the electric start any day
I don’t know why they don’t just all make them electric start like the br 450.
Weight and batteries. Not really a professional want. Anyone with any commercial experience would take a pull cord side start.
When is this supposed to be released?
Yep
What is the stats on it? CFM? weight? airspeed?
Was told it’s the airspeeds on the 600 with the CFM of the 700, I’ll have some more info a little down the road
239 max air speed
199 air speed
912 cfm
41 N blowing force
STIHL br800 c vs ECHO pb8010 CFM blows better
