@@Danleesixoneonetwofivein those years the game strategies were very different, the forwards played closer to each other,the Balls weighed more than the current one (now 436 grams), the first synthetic Ball appeared in 1986,the playing fields were very irregular,the yellow cards appeared in 1970, therefore the forwards were very beaten and injured and the football boots did not allow sensitivity. All this defines a more complex and harsh enviroment and in this context I say that M and M can't be compared because they don't have Pele's abilities and skills even with all difficulties of the time. The ''overrated'' arguments are never based on objective logic and measurable criteria. I would rather say they simply don't want this person called Pele to be associated with the kind of records attributed to him. Before now, a number of reasons were given as to why Pele wasn't good enough, assuming he couldn't have sailed through them. And then, records have kept emerging from the very little that have survived to prove in his favour. The next thing has always been to shift the goal post. So I don't personally think it's something any debate can change. Simply change Pele's face and put the ''right'' kind of face upon his resume' and a huge chunk of the disapproval will disappear. To be more dramatic, you could try replacing it with their favourite players and watch out for the 180 degrees turn in their arguments. In this case, there will be no need for videos as the written records alone will be more than enough.

Pele is certainly one of the all-time greats. It is hard to find footage of him. I believe Maradona is probably the greatest, simply because he was a complete team player. One of the big reasons why I think Maradona is better is because he was a wizard with the ball, relentless and unselfish. He would pass to a teammate if he was in better position to score. Anything for the team to win. Maradona made all of his teammates better. It appears that Pele just took it upon himself, not passing when he clearly should.

@@Danleesixoneonetwofivein those years the game strategies were very different, the forwards played closer to each other,the Balls weighed more than the current one (now 436 grams), the first synthetic Ball appeared in 1986,the playing fields were very irregular,the yellow cards appeared in 1970, therefore the forwards were very beaten and injured and the football boots did not allow sensitivity. All this defines a more complex and harsh enviroment and in this context I say that M and M can't be compared because they don't have Pele's abilities and skills even with all difficulties of the time. We know that the press does big business with these things.

I would rather say they simply don't want this person called Pele to be associated with the kind of records attributed to him. Before now, a number of reasons were given as to why Pele wasn't good enough, assuming he couldn't have sailed through them. And then, records have kept emerging from the very little that have survived to prove in his favour. The next thing has always been to shift the goal post.
So I don't personally think it's something any debate can change. Simply change Pele's face and put the ''right'' kind of face upon his resume' and a huge chunk of the disapproval will disappear. To be more dramatic, you could try replacing it with their favourite players and watch out for the 180 degrees turn in their arguments. In this case, there will be no need for videos as the written records alone will be more than enough.

what makes him so outstanding is the fact that his style of football was miles away from the rest. He was so far ahead of his time in terms of technique. His skill easily match modern football players and you could put him in a any Top team nowdays. He just had it all. Speed, Driblle, Shot, Header. Just one word, Complete.

The best football team in history at a club level is Sacchi's AC Milan from the 88-91, the best team in history at a country level was Pele's Brazil from 1970.
the best match in the spanish league's history is Atletico de Madrid vs Barcelona in 1996 I believe when Ronaldo played there and they barsa won 4-3 or 5-4, I don't remember; the best match at a country level was between Germany and Italy last century.

@@johnpacino007 i agree with everything, he is the most complete player, but it doesn't mean he was the best. (R9 was also very complete) Maradona was not so complete but he was better. Better playmaker, better technique, better creativity, althought he wasn't so good at dribbling (as Pele), maybe wasn't so fast, he was only one footed, bad in the air and scored less goals.

Pele is certainly one of the all-time greats. It is hard to find footage of him. I believe Maradona is probably the greatest, simply because he was a complete team player. One of the big reasons why I think Maradona is better is because he was a wizard with the ball, relentless and unselfish. He would pass to a teammate if he was in better position to score. Anything for the team to win. Maradona made all of his teammates better. It appears that Pele just took it upon himself, not passing when he clearly should.

Pelé è stato il calciatore più precoce di tutti tempi già era un calciatore maturo è abbastanza completo fin da giovane oltre a possedere una Potenza tiro devastante, la qualità migliore di Pelé era il suo intuito negli ultimi 20 25-metri se doveva tirare o passar,e fraseggiare con i compagni, i dribblare...qual era la scelta più saggia da fare...sicuramente l'epoca in cui ha giocato ritmi più morbidi anche se molto fallosi, il suo atletismo la sua velocità per quei tempi era eccezionale fin troppo, a mio avviso i difensori non erano al suo livello, il campionato non ufficiale era tecnico falloso ma grossi difensori non ne ricordo...Pelé comunque avrebbe fatto la differenza ovunque...rimane un fatto concreto che un giocatore che segna tanto non debba per forza essere il migliore in assoluto ci sono stati un sacco di leggende che hanno fatto "pochi" gol...potrei fare una marea di esempu
