Fair play posting a bad session. With the KK hand I’m shoving the turn cos if he has AA or JJ we’re getting stacked anyway. I was thinking please fold that AQ hand!
Ranges change depending on position. When we raise UTG our range is stronger, so when we are up against the BB (who has a wide range) then our range does better because we have less air in it, so we get to bet more often.

It happens you just gotta suck it up and move on. I don’t think you did anything terribly wrong in this one.
Tough day at the office Gary. I thought your calls weren't even that bad. I'm no pro but I feel sometimes you don't check raise with enough frequency on the flop. E.g. AQ with top pair would be a perfect opportunity for that and it would've denied him that equity which eventually cost you. Same for some of your semi bluffs which I don't think you exploit enough maybe..
The kings vs queens is just a shove on the turn, you’re way overthinking it. And if you DO check the turn, there’s no way you can just call the river with a tiny amount behind. You’re a good tight player, but the tightness costs you a lot of money.
Been watching u for a while mate. Like your vlogs. Have to say feels as if u are playing to tight these days. Ship turn always with kk. Giving people to much credit
With your SPR, you should always be shoving the turn to either #1 deny equity to draws and over cards(AK AQ) and #2 get max value vs AJs or QQ. If villain does have QQ, you also don't want to lose him if a K or A hit the river. Honestly, you should have had him narrowed down to QQ the way the hand was played. I definitely did. But you only lost 1k profit. Still a nice pot!
Also what draws do you think fold for half pot shove, I’d be curious what draws he even has here outwith AQss. Also AK has about 7% equity. I’m okay with risking that being realised if it means TT/QQ are more likely to call a river jam.
@garyblackwoodpoker not sure what type of opponent you're facing here. AJ suited isn't a recommended call here but I've seen it happen. I wouldn't do it but I play tighter than most. 10♤9♤ is a great hand to see flops with but would be a guttshot on flop with turned combo draw equity. Pocket 66 may call continuation bet versus perceived over cards and turn a straight draw. Personally I wouldn't be in there fighting with those hands but I've lost to players who were and seen it several times. I also think you are looking at it from the wrong perspective concerning villain holding Ak/AQ. The problem isn't them having 7% equity, the problem is letting them see a free card. They are folding those hands to a jam so unless you think this specific player is going to blast off bluffing on river, it makes little sense to not charge them. Also, like I said, it keeps you from getting paid by QQ if river is an A possibly.
@@michaelholland7738 I don’t really know what to say if you think he is going to call a 30bb 4b oop with AJs or T9s when I only have 2500 behind. He’s just not doing that. Also you’re just wrong with the second paragraph. If he always folds AK and TT, allowing him to realise 7% of equity whilst also allowing us to get called on the river by TT and QQ is far higher EV. It keeps both my range and his range wider.
@@garyblackwoodpoker if he's calling a river shove with those hands,he's calling a turn shove also without the risk of losing him if an A peels off. So your logic just isn't sound there. Maybe a check for deception on turn gets a call on river but your mindset wasn't there since you didn't shove river. It just makes little EV sense to not shove turn against all those holdings with your SPR unless you are specifically doing it for deception which you clearly were not. It just doesn't make sense brother. Maybe we just see things differently.
Nothing against you but it’s fun to watch players play poker when they are uncomfortable with the stakes. I’m sure you wouldn’t think twice on many of your decisions if you were playing a 5/1 game.
Pretty sure you did some punting this session. Maybe watch the million dollar game to see durr and doug lose hundreds of thousands to feel better? You did only lose 9k.
gazzyb what happened to you? playing games u dont feel comfortable is ill-advised. just shove the turn as u would with AK at lower stakes. Maximizing your EV impacts your winrate a lot

I genuinely liked j9 call however i sometimes sense that you are scared of losing money which leading to more of wishful thinking rather than calculated decision. Its not fair for u to criticize the play while you are playing at real time data and im looking at screen but regardless hope u run better next time and play more like u hate money!
This is the 2nd or 3rd comment to suggest scared scared money and I think it's quite unfair tbh. I've called it off with 2nd pair and again with a weak top pair for piles and piles. I'm positive I'm not scared money at all.
@@garyblackwoodpoker i dont mean scared money as calling bluff with bottom pair but putting too much emotions into your chips instead of optimizing.
Maybe we just see things differently.
dust off cash win the main easy game 👍
Win the main to break even this summer
Nothing against you but it’s fun to watch players play poker when they are uncomfortable with the stakes. I’m sure you wouldn’t think twice on many of your decisions if you were playing a 5/1 game.
Why do you think I was uncomfortable?
Fuck!!!!

Pretty sure you did some punting this session. Maybe watch the million dollar game to see durr and doug lose hundreds of thousands to feel better? You did only lose 9k.

@@garyblackwoodpoker lolol yes
gazzyb what happened to you? playing games u dont feel comfortable is ill-advised. just shove the turn as u would with AK at lower stakes. Maximizing your EV impacts your winrate a lot
I would always check the turn at lower stakes as well. This chat about uncomfortable games is just people trying to troll, it’s quite funny tbh
KK hand you just have to shove there… I don’t care about the pot to what’s left in your stack … Your giving a free card … He either has me beat or not … I have made that mistake one to many times… not anymore

Sounds is way out of scync at the end there .
It’s not in sync, it’s the outro I did with a fresh voiceover ❤
I genuinely liked j9 call however i sometimes sense that you are scared of losing money which leading to more of wishful thinking rather than calculated decision. Its not fair for u to criticize the play while you are playing at real time data and im looking at screen but regardless hope u run better next time and play more like u hate money!
If it was 300 bb deep j9 vs aj would u have turned ur hands into bluff.
Your reply might have assured my skepticism but i do not mean that as im better poker player or anything. I enjoy your contents dearly so i just hope u can progress better and better

u r so bad. idk how u r a pro
Can’t even really argue with that tbh
Gross gross gross! Hard to play optimally when the game gets increasingly bigger and you’re probably not super well rolled for sticking dbl straddles on!
Aq hand horrible river…you obvs had reads in game but I try and always fold when a rec sticks it all in…they just have it soooo often.
Last hand, trying to do the “right thing” putting 80 strd on but as crazy as it sounds I’d fold the turn as once you call turn you have to call river and such a crappy rio hand, what a way to do your money 🤦♂️…been there many times and sure u have too.
Onwards and upwards…so many good spots to make money in these games, why put yourself in such marginal spots. Tilting just watching it. Refocus you’ll get it back 👍😎
Thank you :)
Please dont sub to this channel , he is asking for you to do it....just do it if you feel like it....its a huge turn off when people ask for subs

Shit gazzy the guy make a good bet with the Aj on the river j 10 5 5 3 draw brick out board, I dont think you were wrong to call but dam thats a good river sizing with that run out. I really hope you get it back, this is why i stick to the 2-5 streets. best of luck
He’s absolutely sucked me in! It’s all good it happens. Maybe my call is ok.
I mean this in the kindest way possible cause i do like your channel and you seem like a great guy. But thag KK hand, is your image that tight nitty you believe any opponent will find a fold with QQ if you ship .5 psb on the turn??? And then not shipping the rest over top block bet on river as played?
I genuinely think he would fold QQ there at some frequency. Checking back with 0.5spr keeps my range much wider.
Thank you for the kind words.
@@garyblackwoodpoker if your speaking on ranges specifically how can you ever have a bluff/semibluff in that same spot if you never have strong hands either? Dont hate the play, strong aggressive poker is most profitable. Red line life. Best of luck the rest your trip, routing for ya
