Not many would attempt re crimping the multi plugs - preferring the choc blok approach. As a retired techie myself I appreciate your skills and fault finding thought process . I paid £180 for the part. This is for the 1300w element with two heat settings. They also do a 850w element which is cheaper but only has one heat setting. Thank you for watching Henry. All the best, Rob

Hi Phil, We’re on site now and It’s lovely to have electric heated water back on tap 🚿. The most difficult part was taking the cover off. It seems to be made of dense cardboard, otherwise pretty straight forward. Thanks for tuning in and all the best, Rob

Hi Pabllo, My heating element is a 1300w (with two cables) part number 70020 - 00273. I ordered it through my local caravan dealer but there are lots of results when searching the internet. As for the connectors I ended up contacting BCA group who produce wiring harnesses for Bailey. They don’t use those connectors anymore but they did send me the crimp terminals which seem to be standard across a number of connectors. That’s why I salvaged the plastic plug housing. At 20 min 30 sec in the video I show the actual connector spec made by JST. Not sure if their website is jst.co.uk Hope this helps and best regards, Rob 👍

Nice job Rob saved yourself some money there. I’ve never seen the pipe removal tools before, always used the MK1 finger which can be awkward at times. Have you got details for them?
Hi Colin, It was time consuming but worth it. I wonder too how much it would have cost having an approved workshop do the work. The pipe removal tool is for Hep2O push fit plumbing. I purchased mine from a local plumbers merchant who stocks this brand. I have this tool because I fitted Hep2O throughout the house. Thanks for watching and all the best, Rob

I have a ballcock thing for my Aquaroll so I don't have to keep filling the barrel. I just noticed that your water supply seems to plug straight into the side of the caravan, no Aquaroll? Is this a caravan specific thing? How does the water get pumped in?
Hi Derek, Welcome to the wonderful world of caravanning and thank you for your compliment. I have the Whale Watermaster Mains Water Hook-up kit. It used to be called Aquasource. The water flows in under mains pressure however, the plug has a built in pressure reducer so it’s safe to use. The website is whale.navico.com If you have a Truma water socket then Truma do their own direct water hook-up called Ultraflow Waterline. This has an inline pressure reducer. Website is truma.com We have an onboard water pump which we have used twice in 11 years when the water pressure was very low, for showering. Hope this helps, take care, Rob 👍

Hi Mark, Nothing tripped. Our water was only getting warm and sometimes not at all. I phoned Truma who confirmed it was the element. Cheers, Rob

NO thermal paste used on thermostat. It drys out. That's why they burn out.
