I owned a 2014 Range Rover, I just bought a used 2007 Dodge Nitro...the Nitro beats the Range Rover hands down! It has all the little "upgrades" I like AND it looks and drives like new. I LOVE THIS SUV!
Hi I'm looking at a 2007 3.7 lpg converted on just wondering if you still have the Dodge and if you have had any problems with it. What's it like for reliability parts insurance ect if you don't mind me asking. What's your overall thoughts on buying one. Thanks
I have had my 2008 SLT for 15 years. Love it. Runs great. No issues ever. Been on top of the maintenance since day 1 and its running strong at 193K. Many 500- 800 mile trips to Tahoe and San Diego from the south bay.
Ive had my 2011 Nitro for 10yrs 150000 miles on still going good . I repace the water pump, coils and radiator. I believe you had to replace a radiator because someone backed into it and cracked it I didn’t know about it immediately. Its a beast goes through snow on 4x4 like nothing. In wish they still made it .
Good video! I have an 07 RT with 211000 miles on it. Keep up with the proper maintenance and your car stays happy. It never failed to start and it never left me stranded. It's done everything I've asked of it. They should bring it back!
I had a 2007 Dodge Nitro for about 5 years. Mines looked exactly like this one. All black with the 20 inch rims and touch screen radio. Engine gave out at 200k miles. I was a nice SUV. It definitely turned lots of heads when I would pull up. I kinda miss it
I bought one with the hard to find manual transmission. One feature you forgot to mention was that the passenger seat also folds flat forward giving you enough room to haul full 8ft lumber or other long things
Good score ! Nice to hear a manual nitro still exists! Been looking for one but they’re like unicorns . How’s the clutch in these ? Do you have the 4.0 or the 3.7. Anything to look out for .. heard the heater core in these tend to leak $$ and fuse box issues .
@@Crispychicken4u the manual only came in the 3.7L. I don't like the 6 speed. It would've been much better with a 5 speed. I feel like a 6 speed should be for sports cars etc.
Fuel bubbles out of the gas tank neckwhile filling. Fixing this needs a new tank and filler neck. My first issue was after purchcase. In 20 inches of snow the snow packed into the main engine belt and disconnected it. It could not be fixed by me. I needed a mechanic. In very cold weather the plastic bumpers shatter on contact with hard snow or objects. It is not practical to off-road with the Nitro. It's clerance is poor (especially when the nose drops when going down-hill). The Nitro will grind and hammer rocks to the detrement of your aluminum transmission and fittings.. It is best used in cold weather as a two ton 4 wheel drive that will get you thru medium-light snow on roads. In spite of the towing button and package Dodge does not recommend towing with the Nitro. It is claimed that the transmision will fail under light towing. The wiper and headlight on the steering column go intermittant and vibration from the road will activate them. They may not turn off. It has 4 wheel drive and is heavier and gets less mileage than a jeep. Other than all this either fire the Sales people or automotive engineers. This is the best I can say about it.
My wife and I just picked up a 07 RT. It looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. It has pinstripe flames on it. Do you know if there was a package that had those from the factory?
3.7 engine on my 2011 was a headache and the Transmission started to act up. It had 112k miles before engine went bad. I noticed alot of nitros at the Junk yards. All in good shape .. but bad engines
I like these SUVs. The crosshair grille looked great on Dodge, dont like that it's gone! It was very distinctive. However, dont like the square head lights, and the 20 inch rims are too big for this car.
Still have my 2011 Dodge Nitro Heat 4.0L. I hope this beast never dies! Only 93,000 miles and still runs the same! I have only upgraded rims and tires to 18” for traction in snow and off-roading.
Love the vehicle, it definitely grabs people attention. The 4.0 is a pain to work on though and my biggest complain is how close you are to the front window.. since there’s barely a dash. Other wise
I'm in the uk and thinking of buying the 2008 nitro, I've heard a lot of good things about them but some concerning comments about safety issues. Can anyone advise if these cars are safe or is it just crap drivers?
@WhereGoggsyGoes I did buy one and it was awesome. Loads of space when sears are down. Got a nice bit of power to it. Head turner indeed. I had to get rid of it because of ULEZ though but I want another as petrol are ULEZ compliant for now but that could change. I miss it though. Best car I've had so far and I really didn't think I'd say that.
@@jay1hi547 hey, i see that your comment is 2 months old so i assume you bought the car, did you like it? is it good? did you have any problem after buying it? please answer cuz im thinking of buying one of those

I have one just like this one for 10 years, put a alternator and water pump and that's it gets alot of compliments
I’m 16 years old & I’m getting this for my first car is this good ??
@@Rasheedshepard2 Not if you plan on doing a lot of driving, because it’s bad on gas like most Dodge/Jeep SUVs - especially with gas pushing $4/gal.

I’ve had my 2007 dodge nitro since 0miles, typical 100k miles replacements but still going strong as ever with no lights on at 170k miles

You did an excellent job explaining. Thanks.
I am about to buy one with only 75,000 miles tomorrow I think ! Hopefully it works out
Did it workout ?
How did it work out ? I'm looking at purchasing one (95K miles)

It's longer AND shorter? impressive.
Chicks dig it.
Loved my old nitro 🦾🔥
I’ve got a 2009 dodge nitro have problems with the brakes at times other than that it’s not too bad

I got there rt. I've had quite a bit of different trucks and cars but the rt nitro is almost impossible to find in junk yard
Always did have an odd soft spot for this vehicle. Seems like a fun ride to me.

Too big. Whats wrong with you. This a pretty large vehicle what do you want 15" rims. Sorry bro but little wheel days are long gone thank god....
Always thought the 17’s looked best over the 16’s and 20’s…

My stepdad bought me this for my first car and idk if its good. Im not good at parking cars and i feel like its harder to park bigger cars
should have been a 3 row seat option aye
These took a lot of design cues from one of Dodge's concept vehicles; the m80 power wagon.
Anyone know the interior length from the front seats to rear door? Wondering if I could sleep in this when travelling across country.
That's a nice idea. I owe one 2007 and you can put all the seats down and set up like a bed at night
I would ever prefer this kind rear wheel drive like this Nitro, over any actual SUV front wheel drive....
Will jeep liberty lift kits and upgrade springs fit on a Nitro?
Why is the rear cargo light on by your driving
Hi I am going to buy a dodge nitro set 2011 it's comes with 240 km
Dealer ask me 8500cnd is that ok ?
Yes.
I love this car!!!😁😁😁❤️❤️

I'm surprised it doesn't have a sunroof, the RT is supposed to have a sunroof
Right. My friend as a SLT and it has one.
2009 model does
No thank you. Sunroof can leak.

Longer and shorter?
Longer in length but shorter in height
I own one and its a 6 speed manual !
Idk why there aren't more dislikes this car is booty I have one and it is constantly having 1 problem after the next
No offence mate but you don’t like this car that’s your problem.
How tall is it? And how tall are you?
What's not to love about the Dodge nitro/the poor man's jeep. It's a tank that won't die!
My mum used to have one I begged her to get another anyway she’s getting a fiat 600 prims

Awesome dad your the coolest dodge is amazing
I have a dodge nitro but live in the UK and there is NO WAY it’s compact 😂
Yeah, thats pretty much a fullsize for the UK market!
