When baseball was a man's game you didn't just block the double play throw with your oven mit, you fully ran head down like a bull into the 2nd baseman trying to knock him completely on his ass. So if you tame the game on the one hand, you're going to open up the loop holes on the other that keep the true spirit alive. Definitely interference should've been called, but A for effort!

I guess in AAA the ABS signals balls or strikes in an earpiece for the umpire? I would think for MLB it would be better to display something like an ❌ inside the right pad of his face mask for strikes and 🔵 on the left for a ball…and the display remain there for 15 seconds or until the umpire clears it with an electronic hand-held ball-strike-outs counter. The counter could also have a brightness control so he can control the brightness of the display lights in his mask.
Also, display the ABS ball-strike determination in the dugout of both managers. That way there’s cross-checking that the umpire isn’t calling them different than the ABS…except for the cases of swing and miss, foul-tip or hit foul, of course, which I believe the umpire distinctly indicates with hand signals, right?
However they do it, it should make umpires pretty consistent in every game across the league.
