@@TinKnight 4:16 Run it at .25 speed and pause it at 4:17. It looks offsides to me too, but maybe the refs gave it to them because of the missed PI call the down before. You can rewind to 4:05 to see where the ball is spotted.

the catcher didn't argue it at all either. If you look at the catcher's reaction, it was more 'is he allowed to jump over me to score?'

UTRGV, thats my school!!! The game before the crazy jump number 25 got a really hype inside the park HR, it was wild. We also beat UT Austin for the first time in like 70 years this season (17-9). Its great seeing the RGV mentioned by Jomboy!

No clear tag (at least from our angle), so I'd rule safe.
There was a clear tag when the runner was over the catcher. Tagged in the left thigh. Tough to see from the HP umps perspective. I probably would have deferred that call to the base umpire to call.
If the base ump signaled they didn’t see it, then I’d make a judgement call.
All that said, I’m glad he called it safe because that is a memory that guy will remember the rest of his life. Such a crazy play.
ended up winning 16-0 so don't think it would have made much of a difference.

Fan of the week, the two college ball players who turned into fans watching them make astounding plays!
That play from that college game reminded me of something that happened in the MLB a while back. In April 2017, when Chris Coghlan was on a call-up with the Blue Jays, he ran all the way from first, and almost did a bit of a somersault over the Cardinals' Yadier Molina to avoid the tag at the plate.
Yes, that was a great one.
