The doctor was the most unscientific and most scaremongering part of the video. Nicotine has the same addictive quality as Caffeine and the same dangers.
I agree that she was scaremongering (freak accidents? really? it's a lithium battery and a mini toaster), but I disagree that caffeine is more addictive.
@Zutaca - "Everything has a lethal dose". Erhm, no it doesn't. And just like caffeine, nicotine is harmless in reasonable quantities. I suggest you go do some proper research.
@Zutaca - That's not a study. It's a review. IOW, they looked at a bunch of other research, took from it whatever fit their needs and went to town. Nice try though. Some keywods for you: Cheeseman and Hajek, Clive Bates, Dr. Mark Sikorski, Dr. Farsalinos, Prof. Linda Bauld. Enjoy.
@Zutaca, the LD50 for nicotine is 10mg/kg. The LD50 for caffeine is 150mg/kg. 1mg of nicotine is equivalent to 1 cigarette but not what's absorbed into the body. 150mg of caffeine is equivalent to 80 cups of coffee. So yes, less nicotine is required to kill you then caffeine. However that is if you drank the nicotine directly. Taking it via a vapour means you're only absorbing a small amount. So nicotine is just as safe as caffeine if used in the proper way.
3:43 - I'm not doubting her credentials as a doctor, but "I have a very bad feeling [about the chemicals in e-cigs]" sounds more like bias/prejudice against the 'new thing' in general.
The only reason why she said this was because they thought that cigarettes were fine when it was a “new thing” then 50 years passed by and they seen the long term effects which are terrible. Now you see she said this because we don’t know what a juul actually does to the body over a long period because it hasn’t been out lone enough.
A "nicotine overdose" is just a nic sick if you're new to nic and you take a lot, you just feel sick and throw up but feel perfectly fine after you throw up. Happened to me a few times when I started with a suorin air with 35 nic juice. Yes, I know you can overdose on it, but you can overdose on enough of anything. I just mean it is virtually impossible to overdose on a juul or e-cigarette with the amount of nicotine they put in them. Even if all you breath in is vapor from juice with nicotine, you’ll just get nic sick. With just using vapes with the amounts of nicotine they commonly have in them, it’s virtually impossible to overdose from inhaling the vapor.
Really? I personally found it insanely hard to get nic sick on a 0.8+ ohm coil but insanely easy on anything lower than 0.5. The one time I was nic sick it was on a 0.15 ohm on 6mg high wattage. I had another time where it was 0.35 and I felt kinda grim.

The chemical actually mimics the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, which stimulates nerve cell receptors in the brain. Stimulating these receptors revs up the system involved in attention, learning and memory skills. You need to do more research kid.
When the nicotine is in your brain, your brain says “oh I don’t need as much of this” so it produces less of that chemical and the nicotine helps your short term memory. Then when the nicotine wears off, your brain takes time to realize it needs to make more of that chemical, and so there’s time when you don’t have enough of that chemical in your brain and it affects memory formation for a period of time. I can confirm feeling this way from experience and some people may not have the same experiences lol.

I think a big point that people miss is that nicotine on its own has super weak addictive properties. The reason people get addicted to smoking is due to other chemicals put in cigarettes, a long with a lot people needing to just keep something in their hand, to be doing something, and smoking or vaping is handy for that. While using a juul, because of the high nicotine count, it does make it possible to become addicted to nicotine, but because at first its treated as something to do in spare time and used frequently, and not as something to use for their addiction.
Im a smoker, using a juul to wean off of cigarettes. Im pretty sure smoking them 20 at a time and burning 30% of the filter in one giant drag would GREATLY skew results. Id imagine you get 2-3x the carcinogens and tar not to mention crap from the filter
We all know cigarettes are bad. But smoking a pack of cigarettes in a few minutes is just ridicilous. Your lungs are constantly being scrubbed and will not look even remotely close to what those cottonballs did
“I have a bad feeling” -Someone who went to school for 15 years studying lungs. Not to mention there are 3 ingredients in vape juice and none of them are harmful. Nicotine is like caffeine, they are both stimulants and don’t actually do harm to you. Yes they are addictive but the harm from consuming nicotine comes when you’re actually burning tobacco leaves in a cigarette. The danger is from all of the combusted materials and chemicals in the actual cigarette, not the nicotine.
Ur doctor is talking about a cigarettes in general. Juuls have one of the best temperature regulating system and little to no freak accidents with juuls. Also juuls have around 5 chemicals total
I hate how stuff like this the compares cigs and e cigs are always comparing cigarettes with juuls. And then they go to say “vapes are terrible” You can’t compare all cakes with juuls
the thing about this video is though, no one is going to smoke or vape an entire tank or cig in one gigantic how powered draw so this really can't determine anything accurately
I notice a lot of the big worries about e cigs is that the kids are more likely to smoke actual tobacco. I find that the ecigs probably aren’t the problem then if your worried about them smoking cigs
I hate when they use stories against vapes like they blow up etc. Those people either were not understanding the fundamentals of battery safety using mechs or they fired in their pockets. It's super annoying.
the thing is this is not a valid test because if a person smokes a cig or smokes a vape they blow some of the smoke out from their lungs they don't inhale the whole time and keep all the smoke inside.
the contents of most e-juices on the market are comprised of 4 basic substances, assuming you use a juice with nicotine which not every juice has. i actually make my own juice based on the traditional recipe, but without the nicotine. the three main ingredients are: 1: USP Food Grade vegetable glycerine (also used in other food products and safe for consumption) 2: USP/FCC Food Grade Propylene Glycol (used in some food producs but most commonly used in fog machines for concerts, halloween decoration etc) 3: ANY USP Food Grade artificial or natural flavoring (used in almost everything we eat) the 4th ingredient would be nicotine, which has a dramatically lower risk of causing cancer than any traditional nicotine product would. similar to nicotine gums, patches, pills etc. so to say that e-cigarettes are as dangerous to your health in long term as traditional tobacco is simply untrue. i invite you to research anything i've presented here and correct me if i'm wrong.
A lot of other chemicals? Last time I checked, e juice only has four ingredients. Vegetable glycerin ( a thick, sweet substance) and propylene glycol (helps produce the the clouds), flavoring additives, and the fourth optional one of nicotine. All of these are food grade items and can be bought in a regular store with the exception of freebase or salt nicotine. The only harm comes from overheating the coil which puts some bad flavor and some other stuff I haven’t looked into yet.
This is way you buy straight pipe tobacco and roll your own cigs because straight pipe tobacco is not bleached or mixed with all kinds of other chemicals
Cigarette contains about 1mg of nicotine. A juul pod or other brands of pods for juuls contain 3-6 mg of nicotine. It takes 20 to 60 mg to cause a nicotine overdose in a 150 pound adult. Getting that much nicotine from cigarettes or a juul (which is nearly impossible might I add) is extremely unlikely, and I’m almost certain hasn’t happened. Now cigarette have been proven to cause cancer, respiratory issues and a number of other problems for the lungs. Juuls do not have those effects... and the reason there isn’t much research is because there is simple not enough evidence to prove juuling is bad or can cause problems for you. If you do smoke, or are trying to quit smoking, I highly recommend the juul.
in the past i used to smoke abt 10 sigs per 2-3 days. started at 12. i bought a vape with no nic and started vaping. now im 15 turning 16 in jan. i got a way to quit that i thought abt a week ago and now im researching stuff. here is an easier way to quit: suich to vaping with a lot of nic. it will be rough but remember, these are 2 diferent things. the one is dry and the other is like water so its gonna be bad till you start getting into it. after a bit (a month or so) start changing into menthol flavours, then start lowering the nic and then start chewing menthol gum. proof that it works: i used to vape AT LEAST 5 ml with 1.7% nic a DAY and now i dont want to even finish 1 ml with 0.3% nic in half a week. i think ill be able to quit but it takes a lot of work to start getting lower in nic. yeas, ive been switching from 0,3 to 0.6+ but i think im finally goiing to quit.if you want more info or help add me on discord or sth idk. discord: GH47#3948
Never doing any of this however a g12 in my school does it and he makes it clear to everyone when he vapes (rarely) that if they start make sure to buy vape juice without nicotine which is more expensive however you can stop when you want with basically no effect and it would probably last longer as you don't have the urge to do it every time you lack nicotine
1. No one who starts vaping goes to tobacco products intentionally, why trade convenience for cigarettes? Unless someone who is a smoking fiend it and needs their fix they're not switching completely if they smoke one cigarette. 2. Food grade products make up e liquid. 3. You can't defend this, most people who use their devices to such an extent are pushing it too hard causing battery meltdown.
Thanks for this video ! It was helpful ! I’ve been a heavy smokers for years just ordered a Juul and this seems to be a much better alternative for people who have been smoking for years but can’t seem to quit. I’ve seen a lot a bad hype around the Juul and wanted to know if it was really a better alternative that’s why I think your video was very helpful! It’s still not a good habit to have but I think ultimately it will help smokers who can’t find the strength to quit.

How does nicotine affect memory?
The chemical actually mimics the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, which stimulates nerve cell receptors in the brain. Stimulating these receptors revs up the system involved in attention, learning and memory skills.
You need to do more research kid.
Seriously
When the nicotine is in your brain, your brain says “oh I don’t need as much of this” so it produces less of that chemical and the nicotine helps your short term memory. Then when the nicotine wears off, your brain takes time to realize it needs to make more of that chemical, and so there’s time when you don’t have enough of that chemical in your brain and it affects memory formation for a period of time.
Your lungs are constantly being scrubbed and will not look even remotely close to what those cottonballs did
who cares don't try to advise cigs, and no one spanks a juul pod in 3 minutes. So it's the same shit
+Ryan Hull i agree with you aye
And then they go to say “vapes are terrible”
You can’t compare all cakes with juuls
“Public high school” smhh so private school kids can’t ??
“If you never went to a public high school then you probably wouldn’t know what it is”
the thing about this video is though, no one is going to smoke or vape an entire tank or cig in one gigantic how powered draw so this really can't determine anything accurately
I notice a lot of the big worries about e cigs is that the kids are more likely to smoke actual tobacco. I find that the ecigs probably aren’t the problem then if your worried about them smoking cigs
"I've never hit a juul in my life" the pod is empty
"If you dont attend a public high school" I go to a private school were nearly everyone has a juul or a suorin 😂
I hate when they use stories against vapes like they blow up etc. Those people either were not understanding the fundamentals of battery safety using mechs or they fired in their pockets. It's super annoying.
The person you were talking on the phone to sounded less educated about this subject than me...
When he said "for educational purposes" everybody paused the video and dashed to the comments😂💀
Bro that was no doctor that was like the front desk lady 😂😂😂
the thing is this is not a valid test because if a person smokes a cig or smokes a vape they blow some of the smoke out from their lungs they don't inhale the whole time and keep all the smoke inside.
the contents of most e-juices on the market are comprised of 4 basic substances, assuming you use a juice with nicotine which not every juice has.
i actually make my own juice based on the traditional recipe, but without the nicotine.
the three main ingredients are:
1: USP Food Grade vegetable glycerine (also used in other food products and safe for consumption)
2: USP/FCC Food Grade Propylene Glycol (used in some food producs but most commonly used in fog machines for concerts, halloween decoration etc)
3: ANY USP Food Grade artificial or natural flavoring (used in almost everything we eat)
the 4th ingredient would be nicotine, which has a dramatically lower risk of causing cancer than any traditional nicotine product would. similar to nicotine gums, patches, pills etc.
so to say that e-cigarettes are as dangerous to your health in long term as traditional tobacco is simply untrue. i invite you to research anything i've presented here and correct me if i'm wrong.
R u kidding me “ If you visit a private school you probably don’t know what a juul is” BRA
“I dOnT JuUl” but the pod is half empty like ok buddy
*Doctor who "knows" what they are talking about* says there are all these harmful chemicals in e cigs, proceeds to not name a single one.
Gavin Benoit dumb ass do your research
“Hits smok novo throughout video while also getting insane buzz”
I know this is a dumb question but it's been on my mind for a while, why is there toilets in the vape rooms at my school?
It saddens my soul to see all the juul pods to go to waste
Sooo just cause someone goes to a public school they don’t know what a juul is? Tf
"I have never hit a juul in my entire life"
yeah ok buddy that pod looks half empty haha
“Vape juice has these different chemicals”....so this kid has never heard of vegetable glycerin and flavored oils, which are found in vape juices
“tap it to make sure it’s working” bro you wouldn’t have known that unless you’ve hit one lmaooooo
Annamarie Weller well you don’t have to press anything on juuls so I don’t think he’s tried them
Next question... how did your "doctor" got her degree?
ok so if i have one apple and you have two apples, whats the mass of the sun?
in the past i used to smoke abt 10 sigs per 2-3 days. started at 12. i bought a vape with no nic and started vaping. now im 15 turning 16 in jan. i got a way to quit that i thought abt a week ago and now im researching stuff. here is an easier way to quit: suich to vaping with a lot of nic. it will be rough but remember, these are 2 diferent things. the one is dry and the other is like water so its gonna be bad till you start getting into it. after a bit (a month or so) start changing into menthol flavours, then start lowering the nic and then start chewing menthol gum. proof that it works: i used to vape AT LEAST 5 ml with 1.7% nic a DAY and now i dont want to even finish 1 ml with 0.3% nic in half a week. i think ill be able to quit but it takes a lot of work to start getting lower in nic. yeas, ive been switching from 0,3 to 0.6+ but i think im finally goiing to quit.if you want more info or help add me on discord or sth idk.
discord: GH47#3948
Ok but who the fuck holds in all the smoke without inhaling it, worst experiment
You can get nicotine free vape juices but theres still other chemicals in it but nicotine is the main one
Sophia Christopoulos Nicotine is not the base.
OMG I THOUGHT HE WAS GONNA HIT THE JUUL AFTER HE WAS LIKE “I’ve never hit either one or these”
Try to hit your juul with the vacuum
0:16 biggest lie of 2018
I'm glad to be born in the 2000s because when I have kid ill know all the tricks teens in the future will try to do
imagine having a whole pack of darts in one drag
The light on the juul wasn’t on, it might not have been hitting that whole time lmfao
You don’t know much about it. “Saying it’s safe is a stretch” well, saying it’s harmful is a stretch.
