I don'tcar how good of a carver you are with that saw you don't use something like that up there nor do you pummel your roff with a sledge hammer... crazy
That looked like the ice dam from hell, the negative comments tell me it's from people who have never had to deal with such a situation. We had a customer that was getting a leak in a newly remodeled, very high end kitchen, so weighing the risk of damaging some shingles to saving thousands of dollars worth of interior damage was a no brainer. We use small splitting mauls and other hammers. I don't think I'm ready for the chainsaw yet, but I like the idea of the electric jack hammer. definitely gonna try that. It really is like breaking concrete. we try to get a little ice melt to flow under the ice, but that's not always possible, it's brutal when the ice will not release from the roof.
The roof and the gutters are fine, the Gutter Helmet on the gutters was bent down from the two feet of ice on top of it. The ceiling and the walls were already torn down the day before from the water damage. That costs thousands The snow and ice removal by us was $535.00. The sledge hammer breaks up the ice and does not touch the roof. This was the only time we have ever used a chain saw as most ice we encounter is not this thick. In Omaha, 95% of ice removal is done like this.
i use a slate hammer..all day today it sucked..ryan homes suck no eves...and i use a torch to get the last inch or so, and the water get the gutters going
None of this is a good idea. Ice dams as a result of problem roof snow are a major problem and sometimes a very costly one. If you can prevent the snow from accumulating on the roof you can prevent an ice dam from forming. The MinnSNOWta Roof Razor will allow you to remove this snow safely, easily and from the ground. The Roof Razor is not a roof rake. Visit www.MinnSNOWtaOnline.com/p/video-gallery to watch our videos of this revolutionary snow removal tool in use.
The destruction is inside. Can you imagine hot pressure washing of your driveway? I didn't think so. But on a roof the water turns to ice and you WILL fall. Sorry about the music.. this was free and I did nit want to violate anyones copyright.
Oh Come on ...
What could possibly go Wrong?
Where do you live? Because I NEVER want to move there!
You can improve your videos by zooming in closer and shaking the camera more.
Don't worry lady, WE'RE Professionals. See you in the spring to fix the roof and gutters. Our crew always have this music blasting, enjoy

I know this sounds insane. But ive tried this and it really works. You poor a streak of gasoline on the dam and set it on fire to melt the ice
I"LL be jiggered never thought of that usually big john gets up there with a maul then a sledge
@febbral I like that idea. I have used the socks many times but our customer wanted it removed immediately as in emergency.
Probably the worst idea i've seen yet. Thumbs up if you cut through your roof trying this.
and people get mad at me when watching my trimmer video in the yard... I cant compare
standing on a icy roof with a chainsaw.... how did someone not lose a leg?!
Hope that’s not pieces of shingles on the ground

Or you know you could just use an ice dam steamer and not damage anything
I remove snow off the roof and so far the height of the snow on the side of the house is almost 4 feet high
Interesting that you used a chain saw..
Had to mute the gawd awful music.
you need more insulation youre losing money
