Wow Aiden what a difference the overturned piles have made. I remember before it was hard to find good specimens, since it was so picked over by collectors. The little flat black crystal is my fav. I think it's columbite. I did once find a nice blue terminated beryl maybe 1/2 inch by 1 inch a while back. Thanks for sharing and showing us the new potential of finding nice crystals at The Beryl Pit. Good vid Aiden! Lloyd.
Thanks Lloyd glad you liked it. I agree, overturning of the piles have breathed new life into the site, I definitely think I am going to revist next year.
Definitely do that, it worth the 20 bucks, some pretty interesting stuff can be found there, and if you want to look for the radioactives message me and I can tell which area to focus on. 🙂
Great day of diggin Aidan!! That flat tabular black crystal sure exhibits Allanite structure. I have a few similar from there and they are hardly radioactive at all. I have not had them tested though? The Euxies are nice. That is one big crystal. It looks like the sifter worked well for you! 👍😁
Thanks Andrew it was a pretty productive day, though the bugs were pretty bad, enough that I definitely was reacting to them by the end of the day. It reminded me a bit of our escapades to Cobalt and how bad the bugs were there already.
I mean I definitely don't want to sleep by it but handling it for a short period of time is OK, plus you know washing your hands after is still important. I believe it does measure alpha but I could be wrong.
Rock and stone!
Rock and stone 🙂
Man, that is an amazing variety in that spot.... shoo fly shoooooo
Thanks, yeah the bugs were pretty bad.
Great finds! The beryl pit is one of my favorite spots. I was there in September and did quite well. Keep up the great work
Thanks, that's good to hear Dan.

Wow, great finds! We haven’t been there yet believe it or not. Gotta go! 🤩

Lol ! The bloopers!
I really liked the blue Beryl, but it was all quite interesting. I would like to check that place out at some point. 👍🏻👍🏻
Definitely worth the 20 bucks
That's a great deal!!
Love the excitement in your voice 🤔😳😂
Thanks! Rocks and minerals are my passion so when I find something cool I get excited.

It looks fun. Your part of the world, it seems there are more fossicking areas.
Thanks, Ontario does seem to have a nice wide variety of minerals.
Hey Aidan. I was watching this video and I think it's my big beryl crystal you're talking about. Kinda cool :)
Very cool, it was earlier this year that you found it right, I think you posted it on Rock Nerds?
Yes. That's the one :)
It's in my display cabinet now. 😊
@justhimher sweet, I hope can find one like yours one day

Hello my friend 👍👍
Hi
how "hot" is the 16xx CPM? safe to handle with hand? and does GMC-300E measure alpha particle count ?
I mean I definitely don't want to sleep by it but handling it for a short period of time is OK, plus you know washing your hands after is still important. I believe it does measure alpha but I could be wrong.
Flat cristal looks like alanite.
Thanks for the feed back
