You mentioned the Marmont hotel as you passed it in Barretto, across from the Beer Garden. This is the place that I knew very well. Heading straight down the street as you were heading is where my wife and I lived and where my daughter was first with us before we moved in base in base housing in the Binictican housing area. I must admit, you stoked my memories of the old place. Peace, bro...
Cool man, thanks for watching. I only visited Subic on a ship, but we had some great times. I still have lifelong friends from those days. Have you watched Overstay Road on UA-cam? He lives in Angeles today, but many of his videos are from Baretto. I live in Bangkok. See ya
@EagerExpat Yeah, I watch some of Overstay Roads vlogs. He loves his grilling out, for sure, and using his "Tesla chopper." I liked the Barrio ones better than his current location because they were doing things on the Bay and in my stomping grounds. Well, enjoy over there in Thailand. You guys are living the good life for sure!
Another good one, Joe.Thanks. Seems like a low-key little beach town. Easter weekend here in San Felipe had 90,000 people visiting! The locals actually hate it, although some make a lot of money. What is the water temp in Subic Bay?
I'm not sure exactly. It's warm water. Maybe 70 degrees. I still get myself to swim in Subic Bay. It's really clean these days, but I saw some things in that bay back in the day. I'll stick to open ocean
Things a changing here pretty fast, I have lived in Baloy the last 12 years, I am sure you know where I live, it is all inclusive for $500 a month, the real reason I stay is I like my Land Lord!

brings back memories
I agree. Good to see the old base

@@Scottjohnson4321 Ya he had plenty of Barrio videos a year ago. See ya later
Always stay at the Wild Orchid beach front room #4. And you missed Blue rock!
It was a walk down memory lane. I'm sure I missed plenty. Thailand is home today. Thanks for watching

I like TILE floors rather then raunchy carpet. Tile cleans up sanitizes well also enjoy in room safes
I agree, it's pretty much zero carpet in SE Asia. It would probably rot fast. My condo in Bangkok is fake hardwood floor

Things have really changed since the 80s. Last time, I ran around Subic. Great to see.
Looks terrible
Staying there would make anyone sick.
I kind of liked the beach area. But, I did have a pretty good cold
