- Today I clean up a 211,000 mile Seat Altea, bought for £500
In just over one day I shall remove years of grime and filth, and try to make this little car a clean environment to drive in.

Been watching quite a few of your videos and subscribed. What I love about these is they’re genuine cars. You haven’t got an endless stash of vehicles you keep finding in barns that haven’t been washed for 10-12 years. Also nice to see another KC user!

Quick question: When wet vaccing, how much pressure do you push down into the seat? Do you find it best to push down firmly into the seat or does relaxing a little and letting the vac glide along the surface yield a sufficient result? Many thanks.
Depends, in all honesty you just need enough pressure for the vac to seal round the material, to extract the water.

Hi there, would you mind divulging what tyre dressing you use please? I'm using Autoglym tyre gel ATM, good stuff but a little thick, was thinking of maybe diluting it a bit? It's water based so shouldn't be a problem. What you reckon? Also, great content, lots gentler and better than a lot of UA-camrs who seem to be on stimulants... Keep up the good work!
I use a trade product called "wet wall," check out paul dolden details for great product reviews

Do you use 1x towel and just keep rinsing the cloth out for the dirty work?
usually 2 microfibre cloths and just keep rinsing them out

Do you have any recommendations on how to remove old car emblem glue, someone has removed the rear boot badges on my car and there's rock hard glue left behind...
Personally, I have used autoglym intensive tar and glue remover to remove baked on old tape residue successfully with some persistence so I could recommend trying that.

If the rim scratches were metal deep could you still just touch them up? Or do you need to put primer on scratches and then put touch up paint on.
in all honesty they needed rubbing down/a refurb, this was a quick fix on a very cheap car, it does last though I've touched up my own rims like this and its holds up pretty well.

If you clean the speaker grill and then use compressed air, aren't you spraying water/soap over the cones of those speakers?
in truth the only safe way is to remove the speaker cover, and most are moulded into the door car, so not viable to remove, I do feel a steam cleaner often used in some of these videos on the internet is much worse.
Quite simply….if the mechanic who sold it, had paid you to do this first, he could have asked £1500….instead of £500….nice work👍🇮🇲

I don't understand, so the owner at 5:34 because they are not selling the car and using it, they decided not clean the engine bay!! Very odd. It is like saying I will only live in this house, I am not selling it, there is no need to clean the kitchen.
he is saying that it is not that neccesary to clean the engine bay because he is not selling it. If they are selling the car, it is neccesary to clean the engine bay, not everyone is willing to pay money for what they think is uneccesary
It’s a customer choice, and some people view a older car with higher miles more of a risk of something going wrong with a engine bay clean! He’s not selling it and was happy to leave it alone
All purpose cleaner and a quick high pressure rinse of the engine bay would do wonders even if you do it for free. And your friend or customer won't smell the oils while driving.
He really didn't want it clean, I have to respect that :)

Genuine question, whenever I see vids like this where the interior is being cleaned, generally a very liberal amount of liquid is used, how is this long term on electronics in the car?
No some cars you need to be cautious with window switches etc, I always worry about steam cleaners in car int, can be far more damaging

£500 seems a lot for a valet and single stage polish compared to many others

lots of scratches can be less visible if you just rub them with 99% alcohol
To get other paint transfer from it, then you still need to
touch them up.
Always surprised that some people are prepared to accept a filthy unhygenic car interior, I bet they live in equally filthy homes too, yuk 😖
