Stay safe out there friend. I planted a scandinavian forest axe 3 inches into my shin a couple of years ago. Cut clean through my fibula. 3 months convalescence after that. Not fun. I had bad footing and slipt while I was limbing a tree. The axe slipt of and headed straight for my leg. Oh well.. I lived :D

Hope you’re well, Lane. I needed some axe content in my life, so I came back to the OG. You got that new Five Star cutting nice. Would love to see some new vids 😉. In any case, I trust Lamaca is booming and I hope you’re still out there chopping. Cheers.

Awesome video as usual, such a joy to watch. Great history as per usual. And that mystery axe coming the mail, looking forward to seeing that. 👍

I think you'd find standing on a log easier on something larger. I've only recently started trying it too. Also use multiple bent handle axes tee-hee. I think with a little better positioning your bucking will improve massively, you're already much better on your dominant side. I'm sure the more you do the more you'll discover for yourself and I think that's why people watch your videos. Not because you assume to know everything but because they enjoy seeing your personal experiences and conclusions.

I'd like to see a test about which axe cuts toes off better.

Keep Tommy Toe Jam away from bent handles. Tommy's toes are precious resources!
A heavy weight on a short stick is an axe to behold.

Definitely a bad idea to learn how to stand on a log swinging a heavy axe. I would recommend a smaller axe, steel toe boots and moving your feet so you do not expose the unprotected side. Consider investing in chainmail and wear sneakers instead, its much easier to balance

SOUND ADVICE. Yes, I know my wife would be thrilled about the $280 charge for "Chainmail" on the AMEX 😂😂😂 The Axe Budget is thin!

@@BushcraftSisyphus You can get them from bill simcox for less than $160. Maybe not as cool as a new axe but its much better than a life changing injury.

@@benscottwoodchopper I personally just wear my logging boots because they have a nice deep and aggressive tread and just make a few cuts in the wood so it adds friction and you get better grip. Plus the boots have a steel toe.

Hey new subscriber here! Do you sell axes still? Id like to contact you to see if you have any nice axes for sale. Spendy Sven is exactly the type Im looking for. Doesnt matter if its an Arvika, any cruiser that is not a throwing axe is interesting. Cruiser double bits seems like an excellent axe for splitting, and I want one. 😀
