For learning verbs, young kids usually enjoy a simple game of Simon says. "Simon says jump", "Simon says run", "Simon says laugh", "Simon says roll over", "Simon says sit down". And then when she becomes good at it he could let her be "Simon" where she will then repeat the phrase "Simon says" followed by different verbs that she's practiced with you .... Also creating a picture album of her doing regular tasks around the house that she does on a regular basis and then sitting down with her, for having grandparents sit down with her and ask what she's doing in each picture. Kids usually have an easier time finding the words for things that they do on a regular basis but it's good to have her practice saying things and expanding on ideas ...... Just a few ideas based on what you've shared but I'm not trying to tell you what to do.
Thank you for this!! I am new to homeschooling as well and my 3 year old also has a speech delay, so I really appreciate the emphasis on working with language and speech. It's something I've definitely not found yet with any other homeschool moms on UA-cam yet. Thank you for all the advice and resources 😄
My 3 year old also has a speech delay. She's in a speech class once a week but I just feel like such a failure sometimes. Like I could be doing more to help her. So I came here to watch videos.
You have so much good preschool stuff here! My 11 yr. old son had a speech delay when he was a tot, games were AMAZING for developing his speech over the years, he “graduated” out of speech therapy in 2nd grade.♥️
I think it's great to focus on both speech and other stuff. My son had (and still does but almost corrected now) a speech delay and now that he's really talking I can see how much he learned just from me showing him things and reading books
Yes 🙌🏽 that is amazing!!! My speech therapist told me not to limit what I do and expose my daughter to just because she has a speech delay it was such good advice 😍
I'm glad I clicked on this video, soooo many curriculum videos ONLY focus on books and workbooks, but I really want to teach my son in a way that is more interactive, fun and hands-on and not mimicking traditional public school "sit and write" lessons at home. Of course it has it's place but I would rather teach in a different way so thanks for this and I hope that you continue to make videos with this type of content!
My son is three with a speech delay as well I'm afraid to place him in school because of his communication skill this was so helpful thanks for sharing !!
What do you think about the “Yelicious Busy Activity Binder Kit” on Amazon? Would love your feedback on this. It has 100 activity sheets and covers a lot
Honestly.... LOVED THIS! I'm in the same scenario right now (first time homeschooling and dealing with speech delays) and just NEEDED to comment and say thank you so much for this, the gears are really turning for me now, such great inspo. Amazing books, toys, and game recommendations! Thank you for this inspo and sharing what you use, truly grateful from one momma to another!
I love how you lit up with excitement. I’m the same way. It’s the main reason I want to continue homeschooling. Being apart of our children’s learning experience in such a hands on way. It’s beautiful and exciting!! Thank you for all the resources!
Learning resources has some great stuff, my mother got a bunch for my daughter when she turned 3 this year and my daughter loves them! She even does the puzzle although she doesn’t full understand it but I was surprised when she matched the animal puzzles with the baby animals to the adult animals and named every single one - I don’t even realize just how smart she is! Anyways, thanks for showing me all of these, I’m definitely going to be getting more of these for my daughter!
I will definitely get some of the things you showed! My son loves the Match It’s, especially with colors! I’ve been mostly been using the erasable books, he’s been practicing his lines, I started homeschooling this year and you’ve been so helpful thank you❤❤❤many many thank you🥰🥰
thank you thank you thank you! everything you shared seems so fun to do with my niece. i’ve been wanting to homeschool her and start saving stuff for me newborn. I loved everything you shared, this was awesome! thank you for all your help ✨
Ooo! Yes! Thanks for the reminder to print that counting bear activity! I have a 3yo also. One idea I wanted to pass along is to use wiki sticks or playdoh "snakes" to form letters on top of those dry erase books. We also really like matching those ABC clothespins from Target to flashcards and it helps to cement those letters. My boy isn't ready to write yet. (Goals for this year 😉.) Also, I was thinking how fun charades would be as you work on those verbs with your sweet girl! 🙌 You are doing a fabulous job! ❤
Welcome to homeschooling! Wonderful video on tot schooling! I have been homeschooling for almost 9 years, but your video has so many new wonderful resources! My 2 year old daughter has a speech delay as well and I love the resources you shared! I’ve already added some to my Amazon cart and can’t wait to use them with her this school year! Thanks for sharing! ❤️
Good morning Brittney. Thank you very much for this video. I appreciate it. I stay here in South Africa and how can I getall these resources that you are talking about ?
I love your homeschool content!! It's excellent, and you got it! 👏👏 Those puzzles are awesome! Especially the sight words puzzle--what a good idea! Ohmygosh so many good things! 💕💕
This video was so helpful thank you! I have a 2 year old son with a speech delay so learning is a little different for him than it was for my daughter who didn't have a speech delay.
I'm so happy I came across your channel. Thank You for this! I am getting ready to homeschool my 3yr old &. this video helped me out a lot & got me excited :D
What I found helped was cartoons that sing such as pink fong, the singing walrus, mis Monica and super simple songs. I would take the songs she was hearing on her UA-cam kids app and then add the songs to our class time. I had a paper with the days of the week on it and point to it and sing miss Monica and the singing walrus days of the week song. I have posters on the wall and she likes to go up to the days of the week one and sing the songs. It takes time for someone children to become interested in talking. Mine is about to turn 4 and she’s just starting to talk more and more even copying me. Just inter act with them, play some educational singing cartoons and give them time.
Hello, looking to start homeschool my 2 and 4 year old , first timer , when deciding to homeschool is this something that you report to the state ? And they also give you required curriculum to add for the year ? I’m trying to figure out the logistics . Thank you
I loved it all!!! 😍 chicka chicka boom boom is a classic here! So much good stuff here! I have a toddler binder for my son too.. and he loves it! Great video as always! ❤
Thank you so much ! I don’t know why I am nervous about officially adding my 3 year old in the mix ! First time doing preschool hopefully it goes well lol 😂
How do you find a balance? I need to start doing this with my daughter she just turned 3 a few months ago and I have a 6mo baby. I feel im hardly able to give her the attention she needs let alone add in home schooling. I don't have any other options for us, we make too much for assistance but not enough to afford it with only 1 person earning an income. I've gotten alphabet and number books and she doesn't seem to care about trying to read along or pay attention to the difference between numbers and letters....I need people to send patients not prayers😅 and tips, tricks, anything helpful whether its learning tips or entertaining/including a small baby in the learning
Ive got a 3.5 year old and 1 year old. I understand what you feel. What type of things is she into? My son really likes trucks and also paw patrol so we have many paw patrol books and truck books. It is hard to homeschool with the little one getting into things but i try and incorporate her in it too. Make it fun, do not stress. You can even draw out hop scotch and write out the numbers. Sing and dance. They pick up on things quickly. Say she likes dolla or princesses, wow that's a pretty blue dress or you can ask her the color. Or sometimes I'll make a mistake on purpose and my son will correct me. Is that 2 dump trucks? No its 3 big rigs, etc. Also find nursery songs, I'm teaching him days of the week, and found some catchy songs we listen to sometimes. Really just have to be creative. I also dont feel like im doing enough. I have a 10 year old with behavioral problems as well. It all gets overwhelming at times. Hugs : )
