Hi, Sami! Thanks for the feedback! 1) Yes, if you are creating your own camera, it's super important to choose: a) Optical schema polarization, filters, lens coating, etc.) b) Light schema With both of them, you can improve quality a lot. And there are a lot of tricks here. 2) In general, polarized lenses may decrease image quality. For example, if you need to look at a monitor, sky, water, etc., 90% of the time, they increase quality and 10% decrease it.
Hi! Very good review, only one question, the raw point cloud obtained without postprocessing has some irregularities like the D415 or D435i? or it's more precise in this case? Thank you very much.
Hi! good review! I have a question: do you have tryed the realsense d415? if yes, comparing the d415 ad d405, whitch is better on 3d scans? and witch one suffer less the glare/holes on surface with shiny texture? thanks for your answer! :)
Hi! Yes, 415 is a classic one :) I tried it a long ago. These are fundamentally different devices. It's almost impossible to compare them. D415 has a range of 0.3 to 4 meters. D405 has a range of 0.07 to 0.5 meters. D405 definitely works better with texture as it is closer to the subject. And D415 has active illumination. So the choice will depend on the task.
Hi. Is-there a way to get the left AND right RGB image ? It looks like you can get depth, and left image. But not right image. So no ways to compute some image processing on right images. Can you confirm / correct ?
We can use Polarize filters and IR Projects with the camera to avoid reflections and glares. Please give your insights.

Hi, I tested it almost a year ago and didn't remember about the quality.
Nice review! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!

Anyone answer this question please.
Which Ros is compatible with both raspberry Pi 4 and intel realsence d405 camera.

Hi! Good review! Could multiple D405 cameras be synced together? like D435. I'd like to use them synced.
Have it in hand a long time ago. But if I remember correctly it doesn't have an additional port for external synchronization.
Is the range is 50 cm to 7 meter ?
Range 7 cm to 50 cm
had to switch off the video and listen because of the weird shake
Good review, thanks!
