What do I do? So I shaved the green wire and connected a wire to it then ran that directly to the battery

If I’m having a no charging issue, I’ve checked the green and ride wire and I’m getting battery voltage to it at the alternator plug with key on, I don’t believe this is going to fix my issue right? I was told it needed that 500 ohm resistor and would only be 2.25 volts at the regulator

@8:17 green / red wire goes to main relay or solenoid or battery? Negative side or positive? Thanks I have a wire orange and black heating up on alternator, wiring may be wrong for alternator or alternator is bad or needs fusable link.

Did you change your heater core? That is not a fun job. I want to put one in my white car... been putting it off for a while now! You are right about trying to get under that dash. Easier said than done! I'm always too lazy to pull the seat out and then I almost get stuck under the dash.

If u ran the green red strip wire to keyed power on a 20 amp inline fuse and eliminate the dummy light on the dash it will charge.i did it to my v8 swap 87 ranger.works like a charm

I own an 89 Foxbody I had recently bought it rebuilt the whole engine and I'm having a little bit of a problem with the alternator when I first got the car it was the yellow wire on to the main power source for the alternator it's a 3G upgrade now there was only the yellow wire and red hot wire hooked up and the green wire with red stripe now do I have to hook up the yellow with the yellow wire I know green with red stripe goes together do I still have to hook up the orange and black striped wires to the hot

jay more Hello thanks for the reply my problem was that it needed a jump start to start charging again so I ran a hot wire to the green and red stripe wire and it started charging again that's a weird set up but it happens when you unhook the wiring harness I'm not sure what your saying about your red and yellow wires sorry. But if your altenator is not charging your battery you need to hook a hot wire to that green/red wire make sure you use a hot wire that turns off when you turn the car off.
