this song is for the true fucking people who give themselves to others without expecting anything in return. its beautiful. because in the end death will guide us to peace
The first time I listened to this song tears just started flowing from my eyes. Reduced me to tears and made a wreck of me emotionally for the rest of the day. Beautiful song but so sad. Broke my Heart.
I've been an Edgar Winter fan since I first heard him in the early 70s. This song still resonates as much as it ever did. His first album was genius. I play it every chance I get. Was lucky enough to see Edgar and his brother at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto with their Roadwork tour. Amazing.
This song is up there with John Lennons’ IMAGINE. i acturally recently warched a interview with John Lennon where he says that Edgar & his band @ album at the time is his favorite. It was from the earky 70s. ☮️💟
He has always been genuine as a musician and in his personal life. To agree with what has already been said: The sentiment of the song rings true and it often DOES make me cry. I have seen Edgar and his band mates and solo perhaps a dozen times. Always inspiring. My favorite album is STILL his first, Entrance, but all his repertoire is the work of gifted person. Thanks for posting this rare performance.
I had one of the freakyist moments of my life with this song.. I saw him do it live in 1971.. so, on the final days of free Napster (around 2002 I think), I was racking my brain trying to think of songs I wanted that I had not downloaded yet.. I remembered this and started downloading it... The TV was on in the background.. and suddenly Jimmy Kimmel introduced Edgar Winter, and he did this song... scary.. of course with my large ego, I interpreted this to mean I was a "chosen one"...lol
my husband loves this and showed it to me for the first time! my husband is a musician who thinks you're the best. He says this is the most beautiful song ever and it makes him cry. I've never seen him like that over a song
the other thing I remember about that concert was, it seemed you could wake up Edgar in the middle of the night, (or early in the morning...lol) and ask Edgar to scream, and he would still be able to break the windows in your house with that high volume scream.. what a powerfull voice.. I saw him and Dr John warming up for Alice Cooper.. a night that shaped my life.. thanks for replying
My respects to edgar. His words are true. I to wonder if they will laugh whin im dead.thank you edgar and thanks to the person who uploaded this song. It inspiers me to be the best I can be
Beautiful, haunting, emotional...I love this...I had only heard of Frankenstein in the 70's. I'm sorry I missed this back then. Recently I was watching a Yusuf/Cat Stevens concert, and he covered this song. Before he played he called it a beautiful song and said Edgar Winter wrote it. I was so surprised. I listened and fell in love with it. Had it find the original artist, of course. Love it.
Sing it Edgar! I had this album when I was young. Don't know if I still have it. Sold my house, downsized. Lots packed away. That's ok. Going to download the album now. Edgar is a treasure, a true talent.
Edgar Winter, one of the most talented men in all of rock ‘n’ roll history. He sang like few can, played every instrument Perez and wrote his first jazz album at the age of 18. Genius

Genius. This song still brings tears to my eyes. I wish that people knew that Edgar is so much more than "Frankenstein" and "Free Ride"!
his Entrance album is heavenly!
