Pellet feeder electrical tape or a bike inner tube., I hope the bin man haven't been, matrix do a good system, you can't beat the very old Preston pellet Used to work really really well have we missed something by moving on.
Hi Dave. Good video. I happen to use the ICS Preston Solid feeder which only has a few holes. Works great but i think has one fault which keeps giving grief. If you use a 6" Hooklength it tends to wind it self around the stem causing in damage to the line and even gets stuck in the grove of the feeder body. I think part of the problem is also that the plastic where the stem goes into is not strong enough and bends (deforms) when you push the quick change connector in. This can cause the line to catch inside.
New to using the ICS system for feeder fishing. I also noticed that the pellet cage held back a large number of pellets after a chuck. I thought it was me pushing the pellets into the feeder a bit too hard, thus making the pellets stick. Shall try to Dr it a bit over the top to see if it works better. If not they can meet together down at the dump.
Hi buddy totally agree with you about the pellet feeder,I’ve wrapped the side on mine with electrical tape, you’re spot on you only need the holes in the top 👍
I agree Dave to a degree it's about choice, but why not make an interchangeable snap on cage or a snap on cover for the pellet feeder or slide on slide off! I like the hybrid feeders but why do they not have a half moon shape cut out the front to keep your hooklenth low and not so untidy looking or a V shape slot. Presentation is everything. Robert.👍
I didn't get on with those pellet feeders either. I didn't know why, but now you've pointed out the design flaw, I might try them again, with black electrical tape around them, like I do when I'm blocking holes on a maggot feeder. I like older style of banjo feeders best, the ones that look like a frying pan. The newer banjo feeders are more like hybrid feeders, which I'm not a fan of.
The old style bango feeder, which was indeed like a Bango, was the best feeder ever made. Used this model on my local club water many times, in conjunction with the mould. Caught bags of fish on these. Unfortunately these are now obsolete, and I have only two left, one medium a one large. Only now use them on pegs with no snags for fear of losing them.
i was worried about this video being bad about the ICS system itself as i was spending a lot of time pellet fishing for carp this winter, notmally on the rivers, and this w ics system was my find of the winter haha, not tried the last one you talk about only the maggot, bomb and inline method
Hi Dave I agree with the distance feeder I’ve never really had to use one,now I can’t remember why Preston changed the design of the pellet feeder something to do with the way it released the pellets better but like maggot feeders to slow down the bait release put some electrical tape around them and get them out of the bin mate
Great honest review Dave. Being tight with my money I would use electrical tape to wrap around those extra holes like someone else has commented before chucking them. I use tape a lot with my river feeders to get just the right flow of bait that I want. I find it's always a bit hit and miss when manufacturers bring out new products and reviews like yours are what is needed. 👍👍👍
Dave Agree with what you say, I only use shovel feeders in small sizes and I've put electrical heat shrink sleeve on and although not perfect it makes it so much better.
Keep videos going Dave. Preston released a new ICS solid pellet feeder last year with holes only at the back like the old ones - problem solved. Love ICS system. Cheers Chris
Well done mate I don’t like em either I’ve tried all major method banjo hybrid etc and keep coming back to Preston I’ve just seen a fella adapting high sided guru hybrids to be quick change and to go on Preston stems brilliant now where’s my hacksaw?
hi Dave. i also want to focus on method feeder this year. And check your uploads often. But how do you know for sure that the bait is always on top when the method hits the bottom ???
I tried the ICS feeders and don't like them at all, I much prefer the Guru xsafe , have you tried the Guru pellet feeders, I would have tried a bit of tape before slinging them in the bin, another great review David, keep em coming 👍👍👍
hi dave ,have you tried the maggot ics feeder ,i thought they be great and in the small size they are but the large size i found that if the carp shakes it head they fall apart and i lost 5 feeder on 6 carp , not happy with the design ,they just fall apart when play a better fish .would love your opion on this
Every time I buy an ICS feeder of any type, I have to mess about with the line opening at the back. It normally requires deburring because you can't get your line in or out (poorly quality control) and also have to adjust the opening width so its not to tight or too loose gripping the stem.......OK once sorted but alot of fannying about.
How many feeders have you bought that you never actually use? We are all sucked in by all the marketing, thinking that we won’t catch without them. It’s brilliant really. We are all obsessed with fishing and think they are necessity’s or we will go and fail to catch or someone will catch more than us. The must have ,next thing really is just a figment of our imagination. I love all of it David. God bless Angling.👏👏😄
I myself have always used matrix they were the first to bring interchangeable feeders ect never buy anything else now great review but all Preston in the bin lol 😆 👍
high dave sorry but your wrongall preston ics systemfeeders are greatthe one you binned is for fishing to islands so next time please save them for me lol by the way bag up tv is brill mate best on utube keep on bagging
Dave that pellet feeder your showing was designed for fishing up against islands in shallow water the cage design is for a quick release of bait.
Pellet feeder electrical tape or a bike inner tube., I hope the bin man haven't been, matrix do a good system, you can't beat the very old Preston pellet Used to work really really well have we missed something by moving on.

I'd just used a 4 inch hook length and only put the pellet in the feeder at the front.
I've just been through David's bin...was full of bounty bars, salad and Preston pellet feeders.😆. love the new reviews.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 love it 👊

Love this series Dave it’s nice to see a honest unbiased review
Keep them coming 👍
Hi Dave, Thanks for your honest opinion in the review. As you have rejected the PI pellet feeder, which one would you suggest in its place? Thanks.
I've tried any other pellet feeder, I just like the old version so I have a couple of them knocking about.
Hi buddy totally agree with you about the pellet feeder,I’ve wrapped the side on mine with electrical tape, you’re spot on you only need the holes in the top 👍
Dave great review of ICS, biggest prob I find is the quick change bead is so loose fit into stem,. Might as well replace with swivel link!

Yeah I love the ICS System just not the pellet feeder that's all. 👍
Another great video Dave ,you are keeping my spirits up ,Keep on Bagging
Well done Dave, that's what is needed the truth. 👍🐟🏴🇬🇧

I think the ICS maggot feeders are terrible as well I’ve doctored some Guru hybrid feeders to fit the ICS for long chucks
Guru bringing out there ICS type feeders imminently
@@peterthornton8520 I look forward to seeing them
They do a solid pellet feeder with just holes in the back.
Keep videos going Dave. Preston released a new ICS solid pellet feeder last year with holes only at the back like the old ones - problem solved. Love ICS system. Cheers Chris
Yeah I didn't know this , ill have a look thanks 👍
Well done mate I don’t like em either I’ve tried all major method banjo hybrid etc and keep coming back to Preston I’ve just seen a fella adapting high sided guru hybrids to be quick change and to go on Preston stems brilliant now where’s my hacksaw?
Nice on mate 👍
hi Dave. i also want to focus on method feeder this year. And check your uploads often. But how do you know for sure that the bait is always on top when the method hits the bottom ???
The lead sinks first so shouldn’t be a problem.
Load your method feeder 1st with micros then put the hook bait in and load a small amount on top like a sandwich 👍
I tried the ICS feeders and don't like them at all, I much prefer the Guru xsafe , have you tried the Guru pellet feeders, I would have tried a bit of tape before slinging them in the bin, another great review David, keep em coming 👍👍👍

8ve not really used them mate to be honest I don't like them if I fish a maggots feeder I always used a drennan one or a old school black cap 👍
Good review Dave, spot on

Totally agree, the pellet feeders are wrong, too many holes and there too big.
Ya should've kept the stem though mate 😂.
Iv got a couple of the old pellet feeders never used yet
Agree 100%… the old style solid surrounds were a million times better 👍👍👍
Can you do one on the 11ft supera sl feeder rod 🤔
I don't use pellet feeders anymore because there crap i use a small cage feeder works a treat, para
😂😂😂save it dave ,bit of tape cures it and you can use the stem 😂😂😂
Bin dipper😂
Great review again mate.
They do the one your talking about in the ics system it’s a solid feeder with 4 holes in the back
Its only in a small range and you cant get much bait in it , so no where near as good as the old one.
Hey David good review. Jason is right there is now a solid one for the ICS range 👍
@@MatchFishingFilms oh eye , send us some out Joe and ill give em a go 👍
Message me your address on messenger and I'll send some 👍
Yes they do a medium that bigger. Just do a search for “ics solid feeder medium” in Google 👍
