Dave that pellet feeder your showing was designed for fishing up against islands in shallow water the cage design is for a quick release of bait.
Pellet feeder electrical tape or a bike inner tube., I hope the bin man haven't been, matrix do a good system, you can't beat the very old Preston pellet Used to work really really well have we missed something by moving on.
Hi buddy totally agree with you about the pellet feeder,I’ve wrapped the side on mine with electrical tape, you’re spot on you only need the holes in the top 👍
Love this series Dave it’s nice to see a honest unbiased review
The old style bango feeder, which was indeed like a Bango, was the best feeder ever made. Used this model on my local club water many times, in conjunction with the mould. Caught bags of fish on these. Unfortunately these are now obsolete, and I have only two left, one medium a one large. Only now use them on pegs with no snags for fear of losing them.
Another great video Dave ,you are keeping my spirits up ,Keep on Bagging
Dave
Hi Dave I agree with the distance feeder I’ve never really had to use one,now I can’t remember why Preston changed the design of the pellet feeder something to do with the way it released the pellets better but like maggot feeders to slow down the bait release put some electrical tape around them and get them out of the bin mate
I agree Dave to a degree it's about choice, but why not make an interchangeable snap on cage or a snap on cover for the pellet feeder or slide on slide off! I like the hybrid feeders but why do they not have a half moon shape cut out the front to keep your hooklenth low and not so untidy looking or a V shape slot. Presentation is everything. Robert.👍
I didn't get on with those pellet feeders either. I didn't know why, but now you've pointed out the design flaw, I might try them again, with black electrical tape around them, like I do when I'm blocking holes on a maggot feeder.
Great honest review Dave. Being tight with my money I would use electrical tape to wrap around those extra holes like someone else has commented before chucking them. I use tape a lot with my river feeders to get just the right flow of bait that I want. I find it's always a bit hit and miss when manufacturers bring out new products and reviews like yours are what is needed. 👍👍👍
Dave great review of ICS, biggest prob I find is the quick change bead is so loose fit into stem,. Might as well replace with swivel link!
Well done Dave, that's what is needed the truth. 👍🐟🏴🇬🇧
I've just been through David's bin...was full of bounty bars, salad and Preston pellet feeders.😆. love the new reviews.
Hi Dave. Good video. I happen to use the ICS Preston Solid feeder which only has a few holes. Works great but i think has one fault which keeps giving grief. If you use a 6" Hooklength it tends to wind it self around the stem causing in damage to the line and even gets stuck in the grove of the feeder body. I think part of the problem is also that the plastic where the stem goes into is not strong enough and bends (deforms) when you push the quick change connector in. This can cause the line to catch inside.
😂😂😂save it dave ,bit of tape cures it and you can use the stem 😂😂😂
Good review Dave, spot on
I tried the ICS feeders and don't like them at all, I much prefer the Guru xsafe , have you tried the Guru pellet feeders, I would have tried a bit of tape before slinging them in the bin, another great review David, keep em coming 👍👍👍
New to using the ICS system for feeder fishing. I also noticed that the pellet cage held back a large number of pellets after a chuck. I thought it was me pushing the pellets into the feeder a bit too hard, thus making the pellets stick. Shall try to Dr it a bit over the top to see if it works better. If not they can meet together down at the dump.
Keep videos going Dave. Preston released a new ICS solid pellet feeder last year with holes only at the back like the old ones - problem solved. Love ICS system. Cheers Chris
