How hot was it when you folks got out to the wilderness area? I’ve been debating to go up there this last week but it’s been so darn hot mainly for my dog, I know all those routes you took I go up there all the time it’s just been so hot, curious if it was a little cooler up there in the higher elevation? Whenever I’m up there I make sure I bring an electric chainsaw with lots of extra batteries there’s times where I have cut over 30 fallen timbers blocking the roadway it’s a beautiful area and you can find your own secret spots to hike and camp. Lots of big healthy beautiful bears. Looks like you folks had a great time thanks for sharing👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

it was hot out, we went right before/during the heatwave around july 4th, right before the fire restrictions started. Definitely cooler at higher elevation, we were seeing around 96 at the peak around noon (luckily we were mostly driving w/ AC on during those times). Evenings would cool down pretty quickly, to high 70s at the lowest.
most roads were open and accessible, not many fallen trees recently. definitely lots of fun!
if you go, let me know, and have fun!

@@jonluchessi1643 have you tried a cooling harness? i've heard that it works really well to cool the dogs down. for us we just made sure that we brought a lot of water, lots of stops to let the dog drink, and any time we could let her jump in the water and swim was perfect to cool her down too!
      thanks for watching!
