Happy Monday yall! Please note, I am saying that using thecoverproject.net is a great resource for personal use. I would not sell games using the reprinted cover art to try to pass off as original...don't do that!!! Thanks for watching everyone!
Totally agree Rick. If you do sell the games at any point just let the buyer know it’s not original cover Art. Most people wouldn’t care as long as your up front about it.
I was JUST going to comment about this. Thanks for clarifying. I like to get cases with labels, or print my own so it looks nice in the shelf and they’re not just loose. But would def never sell something that way without clarifying. Though I don’t really sell, just collect and display so I’ve not really had to deal with that directly (to the displeasure of my wife). 😂😂
Buddy of mine found Chibi-Robo, Cubivor, Baton Katos and a couple of other heavy hitter Gamecube games at our Salvation Army. Same dude bumped into a Goodwill employee on her way to stock some games and walked out with Conker's Bad Fur Day, Smash Bros, Mario 64 and a few others. All of them are in my collection now.
15:45 It's the one on the far right, of the pair you asked for, you couldn't read the title until she brought em out! Truly a hidden gem! Great find, friend!
I would say just for ethical reasons if you were go sell the game with the reprinted label i would watermark it saying its a reproduction cover but for a personal collection I see nothing wrong with reproduction cover art
I mostly go to my local flea market but the most expensive game i have found for cheap was actually a sealed halo 3 helmet special edition that i bought for 45$. I sold it on ebay for 435$
I use to work at goodwill, and it is still one of my favorite jobs. The best thing to do is make friends with the donation attendant because they can hold stuff for you and call you when they have the good stuff.
Craziest find at Goodwill. Mantle clock from west Germany 60's era. Paid 10 bucks worth north of 500. It was clean had the wind up key in it and works.
been using the cover project for years to help case up loose games. With a decent printer you can get some lovely looking covers. Made good use of my old workplaces hi res laser colour printer ;) I use a sharp scalpel and metal ruler to get nice crisp cut lines. There are also some great programs out there to make sure you print to the exact dimensions
I really only like to print covers for games that came in cardboard. Gameboy, GBA, Virtual Boy, Lynx, etc. Especially if I have the manual. It's so nice to keep the game and manual together in a clamshell.
Had a work friend give me a CIB Chibi a couple weeks ago along with a great bunch of other games. So blessed when friends that don't collect are willing to support you! Great stuff as always!
My biggest score at Goodwill was just the other day. I got a 3DO in box that had never been played for $80. Also got Road Rash and John Madden for $3 each. I was so stoked that it still had the cords in unopened packages. To top it off I bought a $5 Orion DVD/TV combo that now works to play it on.
I found a copy of Fire Emblem Path of Radiance at Goodwill that's in really good condition. The funny thing is that someone I know told me about it and he didn't know what it was so he didn't get it. I went two days later and it just happened to be buried under some other stuff in their display case. I think that's probably the only reason it was still there.
My craziest find I found in goodwill actually happened in a span of 5 years each. In October of 2015, I found a complete copy of Paper mario and a thousand year door for $5. 5 years later in October of 2020, I found another copy, this time just the game with the case for $2. Paper mario thousand year door for $2!
Retro Rick I know it definitely has , I bought a CIB copy of paper Mario 1000 yr door last year for $49 at half price book , and i felt kinda bad because i usually don’t spend that much for 1 game , but it has skyrocketed lately so it was worth it
Holy crap man!!!!!! Crazy find. Also thanks for the tip on the cover project. I just have been living under a rock not to know about this site I’ve already printed a few at work and they look fantastic!
Have found many rare finds at the thrift. A Mickey Mantle autographed baseball in a bag of balls, a sealed calculator that was worth hundreds, vintage Altec speakers worth over 500, a Casio watch that tracked Haley’s comet worth a lot. Video game wise I found a collection of Sega CD’s I think they were from Japan and a couple were sealed, and a brand new NES open box but was mint.
DUUUUUUUUDE.... BADASS FIND!!! One of my best has been a sealed MMX 30th anniversary from iam8bit for 3$. wasn't in the goodwill showcase as i entered the store but was there when i was in line!
Nice score and keep the videos coming. Always entertaining and lots of great information for retro hunting. I found Mariokart Double Dash a couple of months ago with the bonus disc!
Nice find Chibi Robo! The Goodwills down here in Fort Lauderdale don't sell games (at least the ones that I've been to) I was told by employees that they have to send any games they get to corporate and they auction them off on the website.
Amazing, my best find was pretty recently, a stack of PS4, GameCube and Dreamcast games for less than 20 bucks total. One of the GameCube games was lugis mansion and blue stinger for Dreamcast
The Cover Project is my favorite to use for GBA games. They have covers that will fit in the old DS game cases for them, and those DS cases had slots for the GBA games.
Genuinely glad for you on those finds. My best find for me so far has been finding an NES and playstation slim. The nes had super mario 3 game inside but doesnt turn on and the slim didnt have power cord but I just had to grab them. You just dont see them but what has help me out is going to the same thrift store everyday after work.
Wow some good finds especially the chibi robo. I got lucky and found chibi robo at goodwill for 1.50 in great condition haha i couldn't believe it. Keep it up and take care!
Killer find, Rick! Unfortunately the Kansas City Goodwill’s around me post all of their good games on their auction site, but Savers sometimes has some great flips. Found an Xbox 360 Xplorer Guitar Hero controller for $5 and a limited edition Star Wars Darth Vader PS4 controller for $12. Just started trying some garage sales, and have found some good stuff.
Another thing about the Cover Project, is I always use gloss paper to make it feel slightly more real. Pretty sure you can get gloss paper at like walmart! I love the cover project as well!
Not at a goodwill but about a month ago I found 5 new sealed video games at a local church thrift store. Two copies of NCAA14 (PS3/xbox360), NCAA12, Madden 25, and Madden 13. They were each $2!
My best goodwill find, was about 7-8 years ago. It was a Gamecube component cable. 99 cents. Flipped it in days for $190.00. Not sure if the value has held up since theres 3rd party hdmi options now for cheaper. It was my best score, whether games or general reselling, ever.
What a score! Congratulations on Chibi-Robo. That’s really amazing and you deserve to find such a gem. I had the same experience you did finding Import Tuner Challenge at at thrift store for $2 or so and almost skipping it. Glad we both picked it up.
I started a game collection after watching your channel. I have been using this since I heard about it on the DrunkFriend podcast with SNES Drunk. Its a game changer. Helps me display games that I get loose.
My best game find was a Misadventures of Tron Bonne complete for $2.00 at a Goodwill years ago! Another good find was an mid grade Amazing Spiderman 300 Comic in a box. Came out to about $1.00!
I just found a beautiful copy of ncaa football 14 ncaa basketball 09 and a bunch of great lego games. Sold all of them this week. Paid $20 and made around $160. Very happy week lol.
Hi, you can get software with templates so you can print the exact size for whichever console you want to print covers fot that way they'll fit exactly in the case
Best game find at goodwill was right around where you're at. I found Gotcha Force for gamecube and I sold it at the time for $225, if I recall correctly it didn't have the manual
I don't know how this came about, but I was LITERALLY looking through the games I need cases/cover art/manuals for while watching this video and you just helped me with that cover art website.🤣 Thank you for putting up what you use. This is the second thing that you have given me inspiration with. I downloaded the GamEye app to categorize my games and now this cover art website as well.
Love the cover project. I had a bunch of 3ds games that had no cases, and I found some at salvation army and I was able to print out a bunch of art for all my games!
Best thing I found found at goodwill was a Philips CDI. Bust sadly all the goodwills in my city no longer sell videosgames. The games they get donated are sold online. I am going to use that cover art website.
My craziest finds ever at a thrift store was finding 7 Pokemon games on the Nintendo DS in really amazing shape. I found Pokemon Platinum, Pokemon White, Pokemon Pearl, Blue Rescue Team, Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness, and Explorers of Sky. Got em all for a total of $10. That was quite awhile ago. Haven't had a great find since then sadly.
Nice pickup on Chibi-Robo! My family has that game in our collection too-it might be the most expensive in our GameCube collection And I was almost yelling at you thinking about passing up that Import Tuner Challenge, haha My best single game pickup at a thrift store was Silent Hill Ps1. Paid $3, sold for $200
I actually will go and just straight up buy a replacement case. But I DID use the Cover Project for my copy of Link’s Crossbow Training, which never had a plastic case and only ever came in a sleeve. I bought it at a pawn shop in a generic case with the manual, and I ordered a replacement blank Wii case and printed a fan made cover for it, and it looks great on my shelf
That's an amazing find! The best game find I've had at goodwill was 2 years ago walked in around 2pm so who knows how long these were sitting there. Walked up to a box full of snes and n64 games 38 of them total marked at 1.99 each the best ones being harvest moon 64 and demon's crest.
Nice Score on the Chibi Robo! I had good luck this past weekend too, I found Castlevania Dracula X on the SNES in a lot with a lot of other really valuable games paid well below what everything is worth.
I got Chibi Robot during its launch week. I was excited for it after reading about it in Nintendo Power. Crazy how it's value has shot up. I'm not letting go of my copy.
Flea Market had two copies of Astal for Sega Saturn. One opened but complete. The other still had the wrap on it but torn. I had never heard of it before. Paid $5 a piece. Sold one for $100 and the other for $130, but you definitely have that beat! Great find!!
Living in the northwest and being part of the network of Seattle Goodwill, pretty much all of the video games that are worth anything that they get in at any of the Goodwills get put onto their auction site. That being said I recently went to my local Goodwill and shockingly they had Legend of Zelda Wind Waker for $20 complete for the GameCube.
My craziest Goodwill find is skies of Arcadia virtual tennis and grandia 2 on the Dreamcast from Goodwill Best buy ever thanks to you actually and watching your channel keep doing your thing man awesome find!!!!
My best thrift find was about 3 months ago, I found double dash (bonus disc edition), Mario superstar baseball and Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness in one visit. CRAZY
Happy Monday yall! Please note, I am saying that using thecoverproject.net is a great resource for personal use. I would not sell games using the reprinted cover art to try to pass off as original...don't do that!!! Thanks for watching everyone!
Import Tuner Challenge is the last (and only HD) game in the Tokyo Extreme Racing series (popular on Dreamcast)

I may use this resource since I’ve got Shinobi for PS2 that I got from GameStop years ago that was disc only. 👍
Man I love your game collection
Buddy of mine found Chibi-Robo, Cubivor, Baton Katos and a couple of other heavy hitter Gamecube games at our Salvation Army. I can’t believe how excited I was for you finding that copy of chibi-robo lol. Love this channel keep up the good work.
im still in shock! Thanks for watching Matthew!
I would say just for ethical reasons if you were go sell the game with the reprinted label i would watermark it saying its a reproduction cover but for a personal collection I see nothing wrong with reproduction cover art
Totally agree!
I think they should say "repro" or something like that on them.
I think just disclosing it would be okay. & obviously letting the price reflect that since a collector might have to then go buy the original box.
@@unicornsandglitteeer i absolutely agree, but if its for personal collection I don't think its a problem.
For sure. Honesty is the only policy.
Incredible find. I love Chibi Robo. Definitely one to play, especially with your kiddo. It's really cute and fun.
I mostly go to my local flea market but the most expensive game i have found for cheap was actually a sealed halo 3 helmet special edition that i bought for 45$. I sold it on ebay for 435$

The Goodwills where I live never have more then 2 to 3 games at a time and the are usually kinect games.
Man NFL Blitz 2000 on the N64 was one of my favorite sports titles...so crazy to think not even 3 years later they have Blitz 2003 on Xbox....wild!
haha it really is!
This man goes to goodwill and finds legit gold, I go to goodwill and find doom dvd for 2$
This right here.
I can’t find anything. I rarely go because of that
@@teneleven2818 Same, I think I'll try hunting a little harder but I'm pretty sure my area just sucks

Craziest find at Goodwill. Mantle clock from west Germany 60's era. Paid 10 bucks worth north of 500. It was clean had the wind up key in it and works.
Keep up the great work, watching these videos and seeing those dope old school games brings me back to my childhood days.
Found a copy of Zelda Twilight Princess for GC at Goodwill a couple months ago for $3. Sold on eBay for $152.50. Insane.
Love cover art project! Such a cool site! Ironic enough, I use the straight edge cutter I scored at the goodwill for 2 bucks to cut my covers

I know how you feel about finding Chibi Robo! I found my copy last year at an antique store in a small town in Maine for $10. Amazingly fun game!
Nice finds. I recently found fable anniversary for $3. It's valued at nearly 40-50$
Awesome finds my biggest Goodwill score was Xenosaga iii for $6 sold it for $222
