    Those "weeds" are lambs quarters. Edible, like spinach. Hope you see your new comments on old posts. I'm catching up backwards!

    ...flax seed oil is wonderful for dogs and cats to help with their skin/coat...also cast iron is the 💣..I personally use sunflower oil to avoid trans fats & soy..also was taught by my great grandma to use coarse salt to scrub...and draw out moisture

    I don't know why but I did not know that Vegetable oil had soy in it. I have been usint it for this purpose for years. I will try the flack seed oil for now on! Thanks for the tips!

      I was surprised when I learned that too! They are sneaking soy into everything. :( Let me know what you think of the flax oil! ~Meg

    Hey, a question here. Do you use your cast iron pan to make soup or stew? I heard that it breaks the protection layer of the pan caz of too much of moisture. Is that true?

      I use an enameled cast iron dutch oven for most of my soups and stews, because I do feel like it might break down the seasoning a little bit. But we do have a non-enameled one that we've used for wet foods and it has worked fine. We just make sure to do the clean-heated drying-oil sequence at the end and it's all good.

    What size is your big Lodge cast iron? Is it 12 inch?
