I’m glad it worked for you, it is hard to chop up a beautiful plant. I bought one just to propagate, but it was so pretty, I couldn’t do it and planted it in my garden.
@@Tropifornia I can understand that , It broke my heart to chop it in pieces, but kept in my mind it will come back with more new babies:) also bought 2 new small ones also for my garden haha

Cutting your big red banana is hard but rewarding! Done it too with mine and finally get some growth! Now I can share them when they're big enough:) 😅

So once the corm is cut an divides it send shoot s out
So when the plant died the corms will send out small plants ?
Yes, when the corm is damaged by cutting it in half it grows many new plants.

It’s one of my favorites too, the foliage is so pretty. Good luck, I hope it grows a lot of plants for you!
👏🏼
Thanks.👍
I bought one thats about 3 feet tall. Im so scared to cut it down. I live in zone 9b. Do you think it will survive?
I was scared to sacrifice a healthy plant too. Mine survived but I would propagate now, before it goes dormant in the winter.
@@Tropifornia I will do it this weekend, they are so expensive here in southern California. It will be worth it 😉😜
