Picked this game up early last year, my oh my I didn't know you could pull combos off like this (and I only ever beat the game with Mai, so to unlock moves, I'd have to use characters I suck as). An incredible game, even if some things got cut, but they made up for it by adding things in. Those combos look insane to pull off, probably would take years of practice to pull them all off, but that's how SNK fighters worked, steep learning curve, and plenty of practice to learn characters.
Yeap, once people see some of the possible combinations, it opens up their creative side. There are also advance guard combos in the game as well, some really cool things.
...and if you look at the Fatul Fury games posters on the wall during the interview with the City of the Wolves devs, it sits on the wall with all the other Fatal Fury game posters.
Real Bout Fatal Fury Special, for me, will always be the best game in the series. Hell, it might be one the best fighting games of all time, in my book.
@@ennohex I’m running out to MannThough it’s been a while since I’ve played with Bob. And also since volume two is heavily focused on the realbout series, You will think they’ll head that to be available for people there’s not fortunate to play it in the US
Was there any other fighting games from these times where the last boss would throw a hadouken at you and if you didn't dodge it you'd get KO'ed or is this the only game?
Sick ass game! But it was also a pity the PS2 version of the game removed the alternate characters for; Andy Bogard, Billy Kane, Blue Mary, and Tung Fu Rue.
@@MGSBigBoss77 lol. No, what I'm saying is that Andy is a cross of both his normal and EX version in Dominated mind. The same goes for the others. I feel that they are closer to the EX versions than the normal versions.
Are nightmare Geese and Regular Geese separate characters or are they both just one character in this game (you swapped the stage and started doing shippuken combos which looked way crazier than before not to mention the new super which is why I ask)
They are the same. In this game Geese is considered "Nightmare Geese" regardless of the colour palette. Interestingly enough the canon story arc involves Geese sending Billy to find a Geese impersonator during the events of Real Bout Special, but the story in Dominated Mind is that he gets brainwashed by White.
@@ennohex darn, was hoping there was a separate "fair and balanced" version someone could use for competitive play, I knew the story but since both games are noncanon it doesn't matter as much as the main canon games, still really fun tho.

I preferred the Saturn version to this but I still own. Its juts many animations are missing but overall its fun to play albeit simplified on the controls
They are different in the aspect of like all SNK PS1 Ports, they give you extra to compensate for the lack of animation . I have all the PS1 ports of the SNK games as well as most of the Saturn ports. This isn't a different game, it is Real Bout Special just with a new boss and missing animation. Not a different game, just tweaked. And the Saturn version is based on the Neo Geo CD version because of the arranged tracks. AES is just a smaller MVS cart.
bvzxa3 Sure, but comparing the Saturn version to the arcade version is fine, this is so far removed from that. Ignoring the animation aspect you have 2 other characters, no EX versions of Mary/Andy/Tung or Billy, no breakable boundaries, super cancels, added moves, removed moves, no plane switching. Then there's still the animated movies. Not to mention that the name of the game differs too. That's more than enough of a change to make it a different game in my opinion. The other ports of the SNK games do not change the gameplay aspects on such a fundamental level. Samurai Showdown IV on the PS1 was still close to comparable to the arcade version, and it has 2 versions of Zankuro and Cham-Cham as an extra character. It was the most modified version of a SNK game after this, but the gameplay elements were left unaltered .
YEah they did that for the SNK ports. Last Blade has a fake Kojiroh and Kagami was split into to two characters because the PS1 could not handle his floating transformation animation. Wasn't comparing them in the first place...there is a video for that. Alfred is the exact same sprite from Real Bout 2...which is why I said that that there are elements from RB2 thats all why so serious
bvzxa3 Even so, the gameplay elements were kept in tact. Heh, I completely forgot about Last Blade 1. Serious? Na, just tryin' to get my point across. If they wanted to make Dominated Mind closer to the arcade port, they would have. Clearly they had something different in mind.
Nicholas Robertson-Muir are you aware that you didn't do one specific, 20 hit combo for Wolfgang Kaiser. you jump towards the end of me when there cornered. do the exact same to hit combo you did in mid-air II you land you should be within grabbing distance. instantly go low and hit the week punch twice then stand hitting the Hard Punch once. wait for the full animation of the uppercut to finish, then hit the Hard Punch again. wait for that for animation to finish! his second hard uppercut should be three hits. then perform a quarter Circle towards the enemy, TWICE!!!! very fast! hitting the Hard Punch again. while he's performing what looks like a Honda's million hand slap. (but cooler because he's punching them instead of slapping)you should be charging the back arrow then perform a Kaiser wave
