I always play the Alekhine's Defence! Lovely to see how a GM handles it to victory against another strong GM
Why? Because its offbeat? It always seemed like an awkward defence, having to spend so many tempos with your night, letting white have the center. Even here white was better out of the opening. I'm not saying its bad or anything I'm just curious as yo why you chose that for black?

Nice game from Fishbein, not often you see Bortnyk having to fight for a draw
Bortnyk won and you can tell by his play and opening choice he was fighting for a win the whole time. The Alekhine like he played and other hyper-modern openings are notorious for engine evaluations which are incredibly difficult to prove in practice. It was a nice game though.
