Adults medium is the 22.5 Jesse. Kids sizes, where the hat is only in kids sizes, have a small medium and large as well. The instructions should be read for individual patterns as they will be different. A new pattern coming up has 9 sizes starting at kids so thank you for this comment and I will try hard to point out that the smallest are usually kids .

I use 1/8" wide or 3 mm wide flat elastic! Cheers, Tori
I bought kids and adults patterns, and confused with your measurements. Kids medium says head circumference 20" but on the other it says 22.5"?

It's 2am here, Scotland UK so can't try it right away but fingers crossed it fits my oldest daughter but if not then it should fit the youngest 😂
With kids it is a bit of a gamble with size. Always better on the bigger side and the elastic helps a lot in the lining! Way to go!!! Yay!!
