Use lighter fabrics for the Summer season while denim, cord, woollen tweed are great for spring, fall and mild winters. We have made this hat in fleece as well and will offer a lesson for the fleece version, with a different top style later in the year. The fabrics I use in the video are all in the 8 oz range of weight. Use a one sided fusible medium weight non woven stabilizer to back your two brim pieces and the six pieces that make up the outside layer. Steam your fabric with a good pressing first to help pre-shrink. I use pretty quilting fabric leftovers to line this hat no matter what season.
