If you can hurt a bear with punches, you are literally multiple times stronger than the strongest human to have existed. Bears, even the smallest black bears, are multiple times more durable than humans. Their bones are thicker and tougher, their muscles are denser and tougher. You could take George Foreman, double or even triple his strength, and he wouldn't be able to hurt a bear with his punches, because bears are ridiculously durable. Takamura's boxing matches wouldn't be close, they would be so one-sided to the point Takamura has to hold back most of his strength so he doesn't accidentally punch through someone's skull. This is a jump the shark moment in a series that otherwise tried to maintain some form of realism.
Takamura has some insane superhuman feats: Killing a bear, Lifting a truck, conquering a school of thugs on his own, thrashing 5 elite boxers on bar while drunk, thrashing 20 men on a rugby stadium, insane speed and power etc. Without weight restrictions he's virtually unstoppable on this universe.
If you think this displays Takamura's true strength then you haven't read the manga! Read CH 944 "Beware the Champion who drinks alone". After a full 12 round title defense fight, Takamura gets in a bar fight with Date, Sendo, Mashiba, Saeki, and Okita. He takes all five of them on at the same time. Read it to find out what happens :)
I like how takamura can litterally destroy anyone in the weight classes he is going to fight at but the weigth draining makes him his muscles weaker, punching power and speed decreased drastically, and stamina. Not only that but almost only works on weight cutting. Bear is only one example of the monster that is takamura

He needs to beat the world champions slowly. But thats a guess and jt might not make sense in the long run
