Lego Brand Store MOD - improving set

- I bought the Lego Brand Store (set #last40574) last month in the Lego store in Brighton, England.
I never like buildings when they don't have a roof, and it seemed odd that half the building had one floor, whereas the other half had 2 floors - so I extended the top floor over all the ground floor.
The end result looked amazing! I'm definitely going to subscribe!
I’m glad you liked it Kornee, and thanks for the sub!
I like the final open view. As a final option, you can place other buildings beside this one so you don't have to make side walls. Same with the backside. Buildings with no backsides can be used up against the wall in a city, but if the city doesn't have a wall to lay against, you can place another building behind it. Cool videos, very enjoyful.
Yes, I agree, it definitely looks better open. and you're completely right, if I place other buildings next to it, I won't need to add side walls.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Nice revamption
Thanks... and your comment is a nice usage of the (made up) word "revamption"... I'm definitely going to start using it from now on! ;)
Looks very nice. Thank you for the video :)
You're welcome - I'm glad you liked it.

Awesome stuff! Earned a sub from your grocery vid but the cool content keeps coming. Definitely gonna use your suggestions
Thanks for the sub Rocco, I’m glad you’re liking the vids.
If you like MOCs as well as MODs, check out some of my older vids… I made a huge London Underground station last year.
Subscribed.I like that you do tutorials.Thank you
I do mainly tutorials for my own smaller builds or City set modifications.
I also occasionally do a few reviews and I'm planing a Lego City - thanks for the subscribe!
it annoys me that the last 2 lego store sets havent had an employee minifigure
Yes, the tiny little ones we have had in the past have had an employee, but this set definitely deserved one.
This is so satisfiing
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
(And welcome to UA-cam! I see that you only joined a few weeks ago!)

@@justthink1616 that's weird!

Thanks, I;m glad you liked it. If yo have teh set yourself, it's really easy to do.
really simple and great! Subscribing!
Thanks for the comment, I’m glad you liked it.
And thanks for the subscribe too!
Hi there ! Loved your ideas for mods to this nice little set. I might order one used Lego delivery truck too as suggested in the comments.
Just suscribed. Thanks ! Greetings from Northern France 👋
GREAT!
It's so good when people get inspired to build something from one of my videos.
And hello to Northern France from Southern England !
Geez look at all that dust.
WHERE?
Just what I was looking for!! Did you just use 2 sets??
A second set would fix the walls etc, but not give you the right parts for the roof.
I just used some parts from my own spares, and ordered about 80 other bits from Bricklink.com.
If you don't mind about not having a roof, two sets would enclose the store really nicely.
I put together the parts list:

That must have taken you a while to work out.
I don’t even have a parts list! I just the parts together that I needed.
Very kind of you to post it here in case anyone else wanted to know.
Hiiii. From where you get all the extra pieces?😊
Hi there,
I bought all the parts from Bricklink.com.
Do you have a part list for the extra pieces? Ty
Sorry, I don't.
but I do show all the parts that I use as the video goes along, so you could always watch it through and jot down what's needed. It's not that many parts.

Please at a lego store truck to deliver lego and a garage for it it will be soo Funny 😂
In storage I've got a Lego delivery truck!
This one:
brickset.com/sets/3221-1/LEGO-City-Truck
It's a great set that I could add to the store.
How many studs wide is it
When it’s closed it’s 16 studs wide.
Then when you open it out, you get 8 extra studs on each side and it’s 32 studs wide.
You can see the original set in more detail here:
brickset.com/sets/40574-1/LEGO-Brand-Store
Sorry, but you messed up the tiles and slopes on the roof of your added floor.
Don't apologise... YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!!
If you look at 05:26 you'll see that when it's closed it looks fine (which is how I built it, without remembering that I needed two tiles next to each other, in the middle, so that it looks correct when it's open!!!!!!)
Thanks for having a better eye than me, and for letting me know, I'll go and fix it RIGHT NOW!
@@MinifigJez you are right, but there is a symmetry which doesn't add up in the open state. (which is where your updated version looks best.)
@@TheProjectVHS yes, I totally agree.
It’s all fixed now and it looks much better.
Thanks again.
Are you British
