As a cancer survivor myself, all I have to say to you is, think about this: You go through treatment. Complete remission! No recurring illness! Only damage to the cancer. That's how I see it going. When life gives you lemons, fuck shit up. You've got this.
Sam is one of those guys who doesn't cry easily. About the only time we've seen it that I can think of is in the C1 finale. So it's even more of a gut-punch when he does.
