All very nice! Of all DYI projects, I like wood ones the best. Many years ago, I made a chessboard using 2-inch blocks. Total cost to me probably came to less than $20, including the pieces (today's money). I saw a set like that not too long ago for $79. DYIs- not just fun, but economical!
Hi Steve! I’m sure your board came out great!! Mine ended up costing $3.75 plus some paint and top coat I already had on hand. You get 76 blocks for $1.25 at the Dollar Tree. I actually bought them when the price was still $1.00 so it actually cost me only $3.00 plus paint, etc. Thanks so much my thrifty friend!! 🤗

I think I’m gonna have to try though wall hanging with a little jars I think that’s so adorable and different and I’ve made coasters for my beach room but they are different and I really like how yours turned out in the holder so I may have to make those as well❤️❤️

Great minds think alike. I made a chess board with the blocks a couple of months ago. Mine is black with antique wax. I also added a coat of epoxy on top. I have some other ideas for the blocks but have to find some more. They are on backorder online :( Thanks for sharing.

Using two different kinds of knobs would be cute for game pieces. Or the same knobs, but the ones for one side could be stained and the others could be white. Or the same concept with little wooden cubes.
