    Tomas, this video ist pure Gold! As I told you in the other video, I got the same bike like you and some day the same thing awaits me to do to, and your video is going to help a lot. Regarding your question about the video, I would prefer the video to be whole. Assembly and disassebling :)

      @Tom10 Crafted , well right now I'm looking to purchasing a torque wrench because i want to change my head angle to -9. I know you already did that on your bike but I'm a bit of worried because I never done anything other than removing the front wheel of the bike for transport. How did you get-20 ° on your handelbar? Did you had to purchase a new one.?

    • @tom10crafted
      @tom10crafted  Рік тому

      Yes, I got a new handlebars and made a swap myself. its not a difficult process to do, you will only need to add everything from old handlebars to new (you will see, its an easy thing). And then when assembing handlebars on the bike, just make sure not to squeeze the cables and align them with headset cups - you will get what I am saying once removed ;) Torque wrench is good to have!

    You said that you got some troubles to remove the link at the minute 3.40.

    Anybody else got troubles with the link.
    I can't change upper bearings without removing it. :(

      Hey, that most likely means one thing - your bearing is rusted into the pivot. Take rubber mallet and hit it softly - it will come out loose. Just for sure - don't forget to remove the bolt between the pivots!:)

    According to Scott technical documents you need to aply bearings fit solutions from loctite. If you used grease i recommend to check the suspension screws often tan usual.

    Hi Tom, I'm a mechanic from Nicaragua, Latin America. Three customers have come to my shop with the same problem: the rear triangle is loose and the chainstay pivot (as shown at 4:49) is damaged, with the dropouts of the crown broken. These are bikes with less than 3000 kilometers. What do you think about the safety of this pivot system?

      Hey Jim, thanks! For me it was a success, as I managed to catch it just before dropping off :) However, I saw on R2-bike there were those spare covers - yet, recently they were out of stock :| For now probably the best way will be duck tape applied vertically & horizontally untill you find where to buy it

    Hi Tom, what would it be the correct tool to remove the bearings and axle from 15:16s without damage, thanks

    • @tom10crafted
      @tom10crafted  Рік тому

      Hey Bernardo. The hardest it would be to remove the first bearing - without special tools you need to have some blunt tool, smaller than diameter of the bearing. The inner tube/axle between the bearings has cuts, so in these areas you have access to knock at the bearing.
      The second one is a lot easier - either by using the socket heads or knocking softly from the inside with socket head. Important - try to use some tool as wide as the bearing itself, so that way it will cover more surface and won't cause directional hits.

    Hello, i just did the job on my spark and i was angry at scott for not providing such informations in the manual, especially because some threads are reversed. I guess they want you to pay the shop for that but we have our reasons to do those jobs ourselves.
    Anyway, i looked closely at the part and you should NOT unthread the little sunnken screw in the rocker. Its purpose is to lock the black ring that control bearing assembly preload. I suppose it's factory tuned. It does not look impossible to tune it by yourself but it's a tricky job. Not enough preload and play will appear, too much preload and the bearing will be thrashed. There is obviously a special tool to screw the loading device in place but without this tool it will be a delicate operation.

    • @tom10crafted
      @tom10crafted  Рік тому

      Hey Antoine, thanks for your response. Well, actually even in tech book its showcased that preload ring is being tightened with some "blunt" tool like screwdriver. The reason why I assume there is no special tool for that as well, is because there is no "room" to fit it in. Anyways, you can't ignore and leave it untouched, simply because it has to be greased and maintainted. While yes, it can be tricky to set it up, but leaving it just as is is not an option either! :)

    • @TheAntoine191
      @TheAntoine191 Рік тому

      @@tom10crafted You can clean it without unscrewing the preload nut, it's not a moving part. I think i'll check tuning on mine because my bike assembly was far from perfect elsewhere but i would advise people without bearing assembly knowledge not to change this tuning if the pivot is properly working.

    • @tom10crafted
      @tom10crafted  Рік тому

      @@TheAntoine191 thats true, but without re-greasing it you are also prone for future issues. That part gets lots of mud/water. Not saying that someone should start disaasembling just to clean it though.
      However, its not 100% that from the factory that part was set properly, unfortunately :)

    Hi Tom, i think you said you tighten the pivot bolts to 15 nm, but I says 10 nm on my Spark RC 2022? I reckon somebody told me that 10 nm is to low and should be tighter…. Do you know anything about this?😊

    • @tom10crafted
      @tom10crafted  Рік тому +1

      Hey Michael, bolts should be tightened at the specified torque, no more no less.
      There is one thing though - its about shock’s top bolt, which connects it pivot. If your bolt is black (it says 10Nm on it), you should replace it with updated bolt with 15Nm markup, its titanium/not black.
      Otherwise, use specified torque on suspension bolts, or by using more force you will destroy rubber washers in between 🤘🏼

      @@rasmuswiklund3980 the easiest thing you can try to do is to tighten it like I shown in the video from 29:45

      Hi Thomas- Have a 920 spark 22’ that I changed the rear shock cable. Torqued everything as needed on pivot bolts, except that INNER one on the lower pivot. Now I’m getting an odd clunk after the shock is in full lockout & in medium setting. Not when fully open via twin lock. Thinking it might be something on lower swing arm as you said you had been getting. A friend said try pull & clean lower swing arm bolt & sleeve first. Then possibly coming from shock bushings if not that lowerswing arm area. ?- - Thoughts? - Can’t say THANK YOU enough for sharing this video! So awesome….. 👍👍🤘👍🤘👍
