Season 2 the absolute peak
The first few years of fortnite was like the first few years of a relationship. You’re high off the newness feeling, you’re making memories, times flying by and you don’t know how, you’re just caught up in fun. Then after a few years things inevitably settle down. You’re relationship either works out or you decide to move on. We’ve all come down from our fortnite high. Now people are just deciding whether they want to continue playing or just move on and play new games coming out. We all knew these days were coming though. Sooner or later we’re all gonna be saying “remember that game fortnite? good times”. Coming down from that fortnite high is just a step in that direction. The issues the game has doesn’t help at all (server issues, games rapidly dying out, etc.). And the game is an absolute sweat fest now. It’s gonna be hard to capture the fan base In the same way they did before. They’ll have to innovate and figure something out to keep people playing and having fun.

I would say everything went down hill in season 7 the older seasons were better. I don't care what people say the old fortnite was way better. Oh yeah also classic playground should be brought back because it was really easy to get some new friends on it.

Game wasn't developed for competitive play, because it was a SMALL game made my a not so big company at the time, with the battle royale originally being released as an extra piece of content for the "main" part, whihc was save the world. When the game started to become big, tournaments came out and epic pushed the comp scene harddddd. So while it was not created for comp play, it is heavily pushed by the company so? who cares what it was made for like seriously

I could literally talk for hours on end about how much of an enjoyable game Fortnite used to be. I want to cry on the amount of nostalgia from the old days. Everyone was fairly good and a lot of new players were able to fairly play or at least enjoy. But now it's nothing like that and completely different. I think the map was better before bc there were less named locations, so more players are clumped together. I think if they make the old map and have 150-200 player lobbies people will be back, bc people prioritize kills over wins

The good old 2v2s time was great
I loved that version of playground and I think that’s the way it should’ve always been. I loved meeting new people and spending an hour battling it out in Tilted Towers before adding them and playing games with them. It sucks that’s the reason so many players got sweaty, but that was bound to happen anyways. People love custom games no matter what game you play, and Playground was a great way to do that stuff. If only more people were using that Playground to actually have fun rather than practice their 90s.
I don’t think OG playground turned every one into sweats I still feel like it was creative lol. Zone wars was the sweatiest game mode we have ever seen, and that’s when kids started trying their hearts out. Playground only made people better at the game, but Zone Wars was making people break their wrists with how many 90s they were doing.

When creative came out and people started to make edit courses that’s when the game started to drop off for me. Edit: I still play fortnite and try to enjoy it but if you take a break and all these new mechanics come out it’s so hard to catch up and also epic have done this to their own game by taking all of the fun items out of the game. Edit: I know it can be fun to play in big tournaments with friends but just for those casual players who just want to have fun like one of my friends don’t even want to play pubs anymore because of all the sweats

I remember back in season 6-10 I was really good, and enjoyed the game. When chapter 2 came I started hating the game every day more. Finally I barely played since Valorant came out. When I barely played I got worst. A day I decided to give it another chance at arena tríos, I thought it was good until I realised how much skill level difference I had between other players. I was still good at editing and even better builder than others but just the sped in which they did everything seemed imposible and boring for me to practice. Now I play 2-4 hours a week with some friends, trying to make it more but I always quit after my 3rd game or something. It’s just not the same anymore. The only part that I seem to enjoy in some way is definitely creative.

When I played fortnite for the first time in a couple of weeks for the car update, I actually found my self enjoying it and I've been playing fortnite more and more every day

They could make a separate game mode that limits how many mats you can put down like 5 which gives more action to those who just want to shoot more rather than fight someone who builds to the sky.

Honestly... I got the season 3 battle pass and realized it was a mistake. I quit after 2 days because competitive wasn’t fun, and it was boring..

I think this idea is dumb and it’s really hard to pull off, but just bring back the old map, like season 10, they said there are new sounds to the rifts beacons that were in season 10, so they might bring back old areas

I mean who wants to use the same settings as everyone else? Fortnite wasn’t really big in season 1 but season 3 is when it hit a peak in players. Season 3 is a great place to start. What they should do is remove SBMM in casual matches, bring back fun items and limit mats to 100 eachand lastly no turbo building. If all of that was in one mode there would be no sweaty matches and everyone would just have fun with the cool fun items. Rn there isn't any broken or fun items, it's just a very boring loot pool with incredibly sweaty kids.

The old graphics, old map, old loot pool, no sbmm, no party chat so i can actually talk to my teammates every game, no fish, no sharks, no cars, no helicopter, season 4 loot-pool. The game right now is distantly the worst its ever been getting worse each season, and 98% of people who think the game is decent now didn't play in chapter one. This game has gotten very sad, even the ltms are garbage, they are removing pumps and replacing them with the toxic combat the dev team is just completely incompetent.

Just bring the old map back and take off creative mode and that part where the map goes dark and bright like if it’s bipolar and the cars, marvel gloves, boats etc. and just keep the old carts, the golf car, and snowboard as well as the four wheeler and everyone will enjoy it again

i was looking through old fortnite groupchats and all it was was people asking to get on right after school ended😭
i think that they need to remove, turbo building, custom binds, custom sense, sbmm, add fun items, max frames on 60, lowest ping 20, ONLY in public matches. have creative stay the same and competitive be the s11 loot pool. this makes it so that sweats with there precious 2000 pc and 0 ping will go to competitive and let the causals have a chance

I know the game since season 3 but now I cant stand the game, I want to play casually with my best friend but just can, every darn game I die to a " pro player " wanna be it's sooooo frustrating. Unfortunately I havent quit the game since I havent found a new game to play with my best friend.

In all seriousness, you can take a break from Fortnite while still playing Fortnite. just play Save the World. I know STW is done with development and basically got shot by Epic but its so worth it. Every time I boot up STW and play a mission i'm back to the graphics and lighting of battle royale chapter 1, when I searched ammo boxes in shifty shafts with my cousins and friends, landed tilted, killed a John Wick by luck and felt like a god, and got a 200-meter snipe and everyone went wild over the mic. Literally just the graphics of STW give me euphoria. There's no sweats, justs hordes of husks and missions to complete. If you dont have STW and wanna get it, good luck commander.
I only play battle lab with my friend and we have a lot fun during that.
Agreed, I switched over to STW during C2S2 and I’m in love. On top of being 20$, it’s 25% off so it’s now or never to be honest.

Save the world is awfully boring tho. Little objectives, extreme repetitiveness, and on top of that it really is nothing like a br what so ever. If you are so fed up with fortnite don't waste your time on save the world just go play any actual good story game and chill.

@@Sogdamp1105 not it's really not. i've genuinely never had so much fun playing a game then with hyperscape, at least not in the past few months. i started on the tech test and oml it's so fun to play with friends and play with hacks. everything is balances, and if it's not, it gets buffed/nerfed like every week. it feels new. something different, everything is so packed together and fast paced

People saying Playground made fortnite bad and sweaty.. Have you forgotten they literally had a game mode in the game of Zone Wars and encouraged players to play it? Zone Wars is what turned face sweat into hand sweat.
I honestly just want the pump back, I felt it when they took it away for combat shotguns back in chapter 1 and am feeling it now too, just isn't as fun to play without the good ol' pump

Honestly. Like it depends what they mean by dying. If by dying they mean losing popularity the it "died" like in season 4. I consider a game dead when there's barely anyone playing it and no one talks about it. Sorry to break the pros hearts but Fortnite is far from dead.

Season 2 vet here.... I gave up on fortnite in season 4... when they started adding too much stuff it really messed with the game. We liked fortnite for its practicality and simplicity. Looking at fortnite now doesn’t even look like the same game I was playing back then
Today I finally reached the point where I lost the last hope for the game.
It's simply unplayable right now...
Marauders third party with RPG's, stink bombs and aim bot hunting rifles, sharks destroying your builds, cars almost being impossible to counter, OP mythic weapons especially the impulse launcher and grappler, too many snipers, lack of good POI's, 10 year old kids with no life who plays 10+ hours a day, lack of a decent storyline for the game, aim assist nerf, tac shotgun being nerfed to the point that it's either be good with the charge shotgun or don't use one at all and the biggest one... SBMM.
SBMM is what truly ruined Fortnite.
It has made pubs feel like Arena matches which has ruined the fun of the game for the causal player.
It would be awesome to jump into a regular public match again and actually not having to sweat battle EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Not even the pros built as good as some average joes when they first began the online scrimmage scene. Just to put into perspective how much the game has changed since launch. It is unrecognizable. Of course, what happens over time is the skill gap between a beginner and the low tier player is higher since the low tier have been around for a while. A new player has a very steep slope and they're pretty much stuck with playing AI now because they're not even in the same ballpark as a low tier player. Idk if anyone really remembers being a complete beginner, but I do and even back as far as season 3-4 it was already getting more difficult. The mechanics of the game were just so awkward for me, but I am an adult and I already learned how to play FPS games a really long time ago so it might be different for someone brand new.
