I have a pyr too and they are not prone to obesity at all. In fact, they require fewer calories than most dogs of their size and are not in love with their food like other dogs. Mine wants her food, but if something distracts her she is happy to leave it be until she's ready to eat.
I've had Great Pyrenees for over 20 years and read up on them prior to getting my first pyr. I've never heard of them being prone to
allergies. Also large dogs are no more prone to obesity then smaller dogs.

My vet initially warned me not to let him eat all he wants as that extra weight could result in DysplasiA in his older years.
@@Yosetime Yep. Ours was very much a grazer and didn't eat but maybe 2 cups/day. We're counting down until we get another stubborn floof.
