Probably, however do not fret, there's a guy who's been working on creating a chip that moves air by simply using frequency, basically it cools the air because it has the capability to move air away from the chip using frequency generator technology, however I think you still will need exterior fans in order to pull the air out of the device, but this is supposed to revolutionize How We Do CPUs and gpus and the technology is supposed to ship in the new CPUs and gpus within the year. I got the jsaux and Dbrand case, and while the Jsaux had some super awesome accessories the Dbrand just feels so much more premium. Hopefully Dbrand will make its own cooling solution that can attach where the kickstand is.
I do agree the Dbrand case felt more premium in terms of how it felt in the hands...but I do still choose Jsaux due to how dedicated the team is with Steam Deck and how many accessories are available already. - Attachment section is in the middle with Jsaux...would make for better weight distribution compared to Dbrand which is higher up...for things like batteries where it can feel off as the attachment section is higher up. - Jsaux has a nice 180 degree USB C adapter that is compatible with their case as well as the travel cover. (No need to remove adapter when putting travel cover which is nice.) It just looks more slick with that adapter as it sits more flush compared to using a 90 degree USB C adapter...and you wont risk damaging USB C port/adapter - Jsaux has a nice USB C hub designed for the case with no built-in cable with plenty of functionality. Imo, while Dbrand felt a bit more premium..Jsaux wins due to how much cool things they do...and they just never stop with Steam Deck accessories. Dbrand is focused on a lot of other things while Jsaux is mainly so far focused on Steam Deck. Plus, since Jsaux attachment section is more flat compared to Dbrand (which sticks out a lot more...and Jsaux doesnt have those sections at the top that stick out like Dbrand) it could be compatible with more accessories found on Etsy/elsewhere designed for standard cases.
I've seen a lot of positive reviews but I'm on the fence between the Jsaux and Dbrand case. I'm on my second deck because first's battery wouldn't hold a charge (batt health went to 1%). So now I'm trying to do everything to protect this one.
Using the dock and strapped at the back, can you still use the builtin stand of the modular case? I’ve read some comments it blocks it… hope that is not the issue, thanks in advance :)

These are all very creative additions to the steam deck, there is a guy who recently figured out how to make a chip for a CPU I believe, that uses a type of frequency in order to make air move, and it should help direct air away from the CPU and then the air can be evacuated out of the machine via fans or some kind of suction system. This guy is technology is expected to ship by the end of this year in all of the new CPUs for this year. They will probably do something similar for the gpus as well.

I'm curious with the back plate mod and the metal kickstand being right over that metal plate how hot does the kickstand get? does it help with any more cooling or does it get uncomfortably warm, or is it negligible ?
They probably made it out of metal because plastic melts with that kind of high temperature, so it makes sense to make the kickstand metal. Just my opinion though.

Required a bit of trimming, but it makes the fit more snug. I assume that it was designed to go under a skin, like for padding? The extra thumbstick covers were great, because the D-Brand ones I had were too wide and were getting caught on the JSAUX front cover when I pulled it off.

Oh btw… it is not built in stand, you can remove it by sliding down.
i want to see a steamdeck 2 with nvidia gpu in it with all of these accessories available .
This is generation 1 Pipboy. Credits to ETA Prime! 😄
it needs cam that can maybe rotate no one did that
This could be a short
That's extra
My one complaint with all of these cases is that they are all black! I know skins, but an easy way to add some color.
That fan will kill the internal fan.
Going bigger and bigger, I see... Imagine me already thinking the Deck itself is already a large brick wall 🧱 there is nothing "handheld" or portable anymore, imho. Valve needs to shrink it for Deck 2.
please anyone use it as a pip boy, i wanna see that...there is even a skin for 😁
Ok the pip boy take is awesome
ok that's it ......I'm buying this dock
J-Sauce
Dbrand kinda ripped this off after their case fan issue the only issue is we don't have an idea is the accessories however the 3d print community myself included have some ideas
It gives me vibes from the garbage game boy accessories era
if the SteamDeck is not bulky enough, this is just ridiculous
I know it sounds stupid, but I want the modular addons to be stackable. I want the Hub then the battery stacked on it. Hmph.
