I just want to say there is nothing wrong with a reverent composure, but I know that I too once thought that the raising of hands was for others. But I started to do it anyways, and It actually helps me to really give my heart to God, because I am really surrendering myself and I don't care anymore what others think. When I worship, the people around me do their thing, but I'm very deep in thought at that time. I sing, but I'm just not the type to raise my hands in the air or dance or whatever.
