  • The smoke finally cleared and we had a beautiful day in Banff exploring the Peyto Lake, the Athabasca Glacier (Columbian Icefield), and the gondola opposite Lake Louise.
The drive was really beautiful! We were really excited to see the Columbian icefield, and we were hoping to check out the skywalk, but it looked like that was run by a private company, so we skipped it.
Thanks for checking out our latest video! We hope you enjoy it :)

The views are absolutely stunning, and the water color is incredible! Hate that you weren't able to do the skywalk. Definitely looks like a place we'd love to visit one day!

Hi Shane and Laura- I really enjoy your videos. In addition to the question about what kind of camera and mount you use, I would also like to know what software you use for editing. Thanks! (and come back to Alberta any time!)

Thanks Geoff! For almost all of our videos, including the Banff stuff, we primarily used a Nikon D750 with the 24-120 f4 lens. Just know that the autofocus in video mode (liveview) is not very good, and continuous autofocus is essentially nonexistent. Most people would go Canon for this type of thing, I think we probably would if we had it to do again. For stabilization, we use the glidecam HD 2000. I edit using Davinci Resolve from Blackmagic Design. It is great and the free version has MOST of the great features!
