2023 WJC U16 Highlights: Czechia Red vs. Canada West (Gold Medal Match)

The U16 Final was a defensive duel between two dominant forces in this division.
The Czech Red and Canada West boys battled in a tight one with the Czechs coming out on top thanks to their excellent PK, goaltending, and overall defensive play. Both teams would have great chances but Marek Sobkow (CAN) and Marek Fleischman (CZE) stood tall for their teams to keep the tally tight.
Marek Šťástka would open the scoring for the Czech side but Nishaan Gill would quickly answer for Canada. Jakub Chán would score the GWG for the Czechs on a beautiful shot that went short side on Sobkow.
Fantastic game by both teams! Congratulations to the Czech Red U16's on their gold medal and also to the Canada West U16's who fought hard to get to the final.
