Hey MagnumDB is there any way to get in touch with you?

Right here! Unless you need to discuss something private. In which case, who's asking?

@@MagnumDB Hey, thanks for your reply. I was at the Brooklyn Monarch in 2021, you have that video up on your channel, and I was wondering if you have the complete set somewhere? Grew up on DNB myself

@@timdertim Oh snap! Sorry for the paranoia on my part! LOL, unfortunately everything I had recorded is on my UA-cam videos. I’ve been trying to enjoy the moment and not watch everything through my camera. I’m not sure if anyone has other footage that could maybe be spliced together.
I have a bunch of other live drum and bass stuff on my channel going back to about 1996. There’s also some early 2000’s stuff from the Lower East Side at a place that was called Rivertown Lounge of me spinning DnB (and apparently totally oblivious to a girl hitting on me).
Now, if only anyone has footage from the night I played the basement of The Wetlands when the main room’s sound system malfunctioned so EVERYONE came down when I was playing! Scariest DJing moment of my life!

      Hey @@MagnumDB I feel that
I first heard about and listened to jungle in 93, 94 and got really deep into it 97-03, being of legal age 😅 Digital Nation is a favorite for sure.
I had to leave it behind because I'm a gay guy and while I never hit on anyone during my dnb time, I needed to find a place where I can be my true, kind self. Ironically this really isn't the gay community, bars, whatever either- it's too superficial, and I never really enjoyed the vibe of gay bars or the music.
I actually really appreciated the message of consciousness, unity if you will, of dnb- gave it another go in 08-09, but running down batty or chi chi men on the mic is not something I can stand for. For me it's all about character and how we conduct ourselves, but for me it never was definied by religion, sexual orientation or gender, if you will. It's about who we are as a person.
Long story short Noisia in Brooklyn (one of the best sets I ever heard, that was sooo good), and Andy C that night, were the last times of me going back.
Been spinning house music for some time now

@@timdertim The DnB community wasn’t welcoming to you as a gay person? I’m sorry :( I mean, I’m not gay myself but I have friends who are and so I’ve been to several gay clubs and events and they certainly aren’t like the DnB scene. Seems it’s mostly house and such. And everyone there made it fully clear their sexual orientation. Did you ever go to The Cock in Manhattan around 2002 or so? That was my first experience seeing one guy blow another guy in person. I was a little taken aback! But that’s the beauty of NYC. :)
