    Your videos are unhealthily addicting.

    I am not an expert in the field and this documentary is both informative but also entertaining! I was already following you on Oxvlogs and your channel but this is on another level...Good jobs guys! I am sure you will have a very bright future in the field of science education :D

    "if ice didn't float, there wouldn't be life on Earth". That will be the most thought-provoking statement I will hear for ages.

    You know it's a good day when you get a new C^3 video. Do you guys have a climate march in England like we do here in the US? I'm so excited to go marching this Saturday!!

      @SimonClark  7 років тому +3

      +Michael Massa Jr. We had a march for science this past weekend, I'm not aware of a march for climate - though we could definitely do with one!

    Hi, good job, Tom and Simon! Had a question, but rewatched the relevant part and everything is clear now. :D Just wanted to say keep up the good work!

    A part of me feels betrayed when I see Simon looking at an empty whiteboard pretending to see the animated effects on it.

      +Benedikt Heyl no, we just got a *very* expensive whiteboard. That thing had amazing graphics

    I'm not sure that saying that ice having a less dense solid state is a key factor to life on Earth is a fair statement. Especially considering that throughout geological history ice has only been present for a quarter of it's history, and by contrast half of the history of life on Earth never experienced ice on Earth.

    Does the Pacific trash vortex affect freezing in the Norther Pacific ocean?

    • @AvivaHadas
      @AvivaHadas 7 років тому

      Thanks for the reply, my thoughts were the opposite. I thought that it might absorb the heat, that it might affect the reflectivity, and/or might be insulating...

    Do you think there's a way (Human-driven) to prevent ocean water to absorb solar energy due to bigger exposed area (since ice is melting)?

    • @JoaoDiasAmaro
      @JoaoDiasAmaro 7 років тому

      I see =\ or at least do something with the ice platforms that we already have to prevent them to melt further or reduce the rate. Anyway, thanks for the feedback and for the AWESOME videos :) You would do great teachers

    • @JoaoDiasAmaro
      @JoaoDiasAmaro 7 років тому +1

      True. We need to change to other energy sources. But although i think this is the way and, assuming that everyone would think as one and think of our future together, I think we really should be investing in ways to capture carbon from the atmosphere. Don't know... I haze zero knowledge about this but stopping fossil fuels seems pretty impossible. Actually when thinking of it, I think putting white sheets to reflect sun light back seems more feasible than saying to OPEC: "hey, you guys will stop earning money with fossil fuels"

    A suggestion for the graphics: why not try animating some of the talk, eg on pancake ice, with some hand-drawn graphics, as in those "Draw My Life" videos. It might take less effort than using some "proper" software editor, and I don't think it would detract from the quality feel, but instead make it seem more approachable to the audience. If neither of you is an artist, perhaps a third member for your team could be recruited, as the key is the ease of doing something that comes naturally, as with you two talking physics.
