Arizona has almost zero gun control. Cartels like that because it's easier for them to acquire firearms and smuggle them into Mexico. The vast majority of firearms used by cartels to carry out massacres and assassinations come from the US. If the US had at least some level of gun control across the country it would be far more difficult for cartels to arm themselves and for mentally ill, extremists, etc to acquire them as well.
