Great advice here., a lot of guys doing their own blackouts… well, I did mine, left arm wrist to top of the shoulder., right arm, wrist to 3 inches above the elbow., I’m left handed, and needed help in a few spots I just couldn’t reach., I did use a mirror, but most importantly, you have to take your time, because the stretch is seriously compromised tattooing with one hand. Use at least a 15 mag, a 27 or bigger is better., pick a 3 or 4 square inch area, and tattoo 1 square centimeter at a time, untill you get on a roll, and can widen it out a little.and use small circles. Don’t move on untill the area is saturated., if you find voids, you can hit it again, just don’t over do it., you will find that a complete second pass will really seal the deal., my blackouts are almost 2 years old, and I’m ready to start the 2nd pass, right arm first, then the left. The second pass will be easier and a little faster than the 1st., good luck you guys.
I'm newish too the blackout and like most thought, " it can't be hard" I was wrong lol...its blacked out but faded, il have another go in time but want to learn more first.
I started my sleeve by myself when I was 18. Didn't even know it was a style, but I had multiple dreams where my arm was all black ink and I fell in love with the concept. Later on looked it up and found a wealth of other folks doing rad stuff like it. The hardest part is back of the arm and near armpit for sure 😂
Incredibly informative. Do you have a video on aftercare? I feel like I didn't do the best job with the first half & doing the second half session in a few hours. Thank you!
@@CosaNostraBeats87 I am doing it myself I'm on the second heal wait time ! Stretch is the most important and just do small circles it's frustrating but I can't tell you how much money it's saving me

Regarding dilution of ink. Would you recommend a bigger cups which get diluted at a slower rate, but you change it less often or normal size cups which you change faster?
I've just been to start a black out. I spent £140 for 2 hours and he used a single needle gun and barley got any of it done and now I'm stuck with a black patch on my arm not even half finished
hey dude your video was amazing, my English is not the best but anyways :) i bought a Tatto maschine like 10 years Ago and i alwayes wanted to know how this crazy shit works, last month i bought a new one (Mast Tour Pro Plus) and started trying my own on my leg xD probaly not the best way to learn it, but for me it was pretty good ofc my leg dont look AWESOME like pro Tattoers but it still looks very very good, some ppl told me damn this looks amazing and crazy at the same time, and whitch guy tattoed this i said actually i was doing it by myself they was suprised , for me it worked well !!!!!!!!!! How can I properly interview a artist? I am going to meet someone to do a blackout on both sleeves and torso. Ive got sleeves and made bad decisions in picking artists in the past..
I agrred to do a blsck out sleeve and now i regret to so much isbthere any options i can do to cover ut up ir add color to it? Not my entire arm is blzck just my hand and my upper forearm
I believe and I'm not an artist just looking into getting it done is that if it colors it's best to wait at least 5 years so the consistency of the black is the same. That's just what I've read tho
My tattoo artist fucked up… I wanted my whole right arm black. Half way in, the needle broke. …she just had one, ever she known for months that I come to the appointment to get the blackout.. Then she took like a 9magnum for the rest. No color in at all, looks like shit…

So, for packing in general, do you recommend flat mags?
I suck at doing blackout, so I'm going to watch this and have at er on my shoddy blackout. 😅
Same lol. That shit is hard
Haha glad I'm not alone. I feel like a painter doing multiple coats 😂
Yep. Way more difficult than I thought
What voltage range do you use? and what needle Angle would you recommend? Thanks

does somebody know if a fk exo 4.0mm is a proper machine to use with a 37 flat mag for blackouts?

I never pay by the hour f that I gotta know how much it’s gonna cost total
Advice for people without a high stroke machine would have been appreciated
Common sense would be more appreciative! Don't use a low stroke machine!
Thank you so much ❤

If you want help
Have a look at their (healed) previous work in the style you want. Most tattooists can't do blackout, by the way...
Do you have a link for the ink? I have tried searching it and cannot find it.
