That’s been the one thing stopping me from buying a pellet grill. I was scared I couldn’t sear my steak. But now that I know it can I don’t have any more excuses. Time to get a pellet grill. Thanks for the helpful info!
Well, I finally got my pellet grill/smoker. My buddy had just bought a pitboss laredo 1000 platinum and his wife didn’t like it. What!!? Sold it to me with a cover and 40 pounds of pellets for $100. Couldn’t pass it up. Going to do a pork butt Sunday. 🤞🏻
The production value of this channel is too good, definitely deserves more views. Idk how you can promote yourself more, but you definitely deserve a bigger audience.
That was flawless! Depending on your grill's design you can sear without removing the layers IF you have a gap around the edge of the plates. The heat is really hot there and you can position your steak on that spot to sear.
Never thought of doing that with the hopper .... But I have done the reverser sear on the RecTech and then charcol grilled it.... DYNAMITE. My fav way to eat a thck Ribeye!
now I got to clean the dust out of my pellet smoker and try this. Hated trying to sear on it, but like the idea of removing parts. I thank you for this video. A ver que corte de carne consigo mañana. Buen provecho 🥩!!!
I'm always very hungry watching you! Great video. I gave my friend his first tomahawk steak & sent one of your videos to him, so he doesn't waste my money!!
love the fact you dropped some tips in there like dont use table salt , the fact that thicker steaks are more forgiving etc etc including voiding your warranty. Here is sommat, try using Celsius as well as Fahrenheit half your audience is from Europe ... also try getting a Dexter Piece of steak to work with I dont know if you can get it over there but it tastes awesome, its a dwarf breed of cow from Ireland ...
I always set both Celsius and Fahrenheit in the written tips.I've never see Dexter steaks here but something to look for from now on! 😀 Thank you so much!
🙋 Hi Bro' Ninja 👋😎🇮🇹 I don't want to know the cost,🙈 but the impression is that you cooked "the Mona Lisa" of the steaks !!! Awesome !!! 😍💘🍻Love the pellets bbq !!!
Steak on a pellet grill is really really good. Despite the amazing results one will encounter it’s also really inefficient. Removing the heat baffles are the way to achieve a bark like any authentic bbq experience will display.
You sir, are a savage! I’ve been wanting to try this on my Reqtec, but I’m going to be honest, I am afraid of taking the diffuser off my smoker. Yes, I’m a bit of a coward! Lol You literally just made the pellet smoker an all in one solution. Awesome job!! Now I need to man up and take off the diffuser…don’t hold your breath! 😂😂
OMG! Another mouth watering hunk of meat. My coworker has been urging me to cook a big fat tomahawk since he did it. I'm gonna have to do it soon. Kick off spring with a big juicy fat one! He'll yeah!
@@SaltyTales It really did look delicious. Have you considered trying the 'Grill Grates'? I've used them on my pellet grill to sear. They work but now I just use my flame thrower or go old school with lump charcoal. Thanks for all your awesome videos my bbq brother. 👍
To have to take your grill apart just to sear a steak is insane. Seems to me to be a flaw of the Z grill -- doesn't get hot enough. ... Their 600 series grills get to 750 degrees, but their 700 series grills do not. Makes no sense to me.

It is a little crazy but as a challenge it was AWESOME! 😀😀

Nice tip on taking everything out of the grill for max heat. A but of charcoal in there would have added to the flavor. Great vid as always brother!

Ninja my brother, you lost me with this one. It's way too much trouble for a simple sear although I do agree it looks delicious. Sorry my Ninja.
Well, it was a chalenge to make it all happen in a pellet grill and man! That was delicious! 😀😀

To much Manual intervention. Cant wait to see what Z-grills responce will be to all the pellet smokers with SEARING function on the market now.
