WOW. Listening to your conversation is a grace. Now I know that I need to learn how to code bitcoin from scratch to really understand it and then explain maybe to other people because major of people and me including thought that bitcoin isn't so special and some other could be. I have to know the truth because of large potential consequencess in near future.

This was a nice deep(ish)-dive into bitcoin tech. Song does a great job of addressing the FUD and FOMO around crypto. 👍

Fluctuations in the price of Bitcoin, as bitcoin has no backing and traders are largely dependent on the news of bitcoin's price, multiplying volatility of the asset.

Seriously good episode. Put into words so many of the problems I have been having with Etherium, and why I don't invest any money into except for access to other projects that have potential. Really excited about the future with Cardano to provide actual useful smart contracts for the better of society.

Can someone please explain what happened or will happen to the lost BItcoins (e.g., what happened to the coin from Mt Gox or from Mr Thomas who forgot his password?)? IF these are lost in cyberspace forever, then way doesn’t anyone adjust the 21M BTC estimation to an algorithm, such as 21M BTC - L = total BTC, where L = Leakage (BTC locked forever and forever unusable). Or can these be identified and given back to rightful owner or put into a slush fund for people ravaged by war? Such as the orphans after a bombing campaign?

I can see the value in the smart contract platforms, providing it's an authentic project and not a cash grab, it offers the same as Bitcoin does, trust, it incentivizes trust with collateral which stablesizes the tokennprice whilst increasing supply steadily over time. The token offers the functionality between DAPPs to seemlesskey interact with each other and pay for the upkeep of the network.
I can see in a deflationary world with huge unemployment, an ecosystem like this could provide one the ability to earn income by maintaining each if their community's which incentivizes DAPPs to provide the best value for their community and the community wants to stay loyal . It could become a great self reinforcing ecosystem for the people. Lots of bad actors will try to take advantage which I think should be regulated, and maybe ICO's can be issued in limited regulated supply, issued per successful stage of completion the project reaches... If the start up process can be monitored and assessed for legitimacy and functionality it would go a long way in keeping the best projects and ideas funded responsibly and provide less volitile conditions as a result..

Wonder how you feel now about needing a decentralized stock exchange after the Gamestop saga. Robinhood & other big trading desks not only stop people from buying stocks, but started selling peoples shares without their consent...among other things lol

The price of electricity to alter 3 blocks is just the tip of the iceberg, and as soon as the blocks are discovered to be fraudulent with the rest of the block chain they will be denied.

"...if I take and I drop you in the middle of the ocean; and you're 50 feet down with a weight around your neck, and I hand you scuba equipment and a regulator.... are you going to pick it up and put it in your mouth? Or are you going to debate with me that some politician in some country is going to pass some law that's going to make it illegal for me to put this regulator in my mouth? ... We are really reaching hard here to try to not do the obvious." -Michael J. Saylor
